This is perhaps the most well hidden gem of Macomb County. I…read moresay this because it's located just off of 23 mile, it bolsters a great range, and the variety of product, ammunition, and firearms is second to none. Do you want or need something that you just can't find in a store? This is the place you want to call, show up, and get a good deal at. The courses elsewhere do not compare, whether it be CPL certification, recertification, or more advanced ones. They also have a specialty course designed for women's self-defense that I do hope and intend to take my daughter to when she's of age. These gentlemen are incredibly respectful, kind, and are willing to help you out. No judgments, and are willing to give you the insight that they've learn learned through years of technical training, local/state LE, and military experience. As a woman, I do understand how daunting it may seem to decide on where to go, what kind of weaponry to choose in this day and age. The staff at CQT make it an easy choice for me. I took my CPL re-certification course out here with Dutch, and also had some pretty awesome insights from both Brian and Brandon. Chris is always there keeping me up on tabs about firearms and he even helped me out with adjusting one of my sights. I am fortunate to say that I feel pretty darn welcome here and the people here are always willing to help expand my knowledge and understanding.

Pretty typical range and gun shop. I've done a handful of classes there, and honestly it's a mixed…read morebag. CPL classes are good, but there's an hour long commercial for USCCA membership before you ever get into real info. Dutch is a GREAT instructor, I've learned a lot about handling a firearm from him. Range is well equipped and well run. Shop is good, a decent variety of gun-related products and priced well.

Former Army Berlin Brigade, Before I joined my…read moredad took me here to the range all the time. When I got out I went there to buy a rifle and a few sidearms. Most my gear was still in transit, and I was going to be starting a new job that required me to be armed. I asked to see the bolt carrier and bolt on the rifle I was looking at and the guy I knew was the owner looks at me like I am dirt and asks me why I want to see that... The rifle I was looking at was over 1500 and at the time that was not cheep. I was going to be buying high priced firearms not your bottom of the bine knock off show me the cheapest you got crap and the guy treated me like I was stupid or something. I had to run a class that was using their range a few years back and it was easy to see nothing had changed. Its almost like the owner went out of his way to find assholes. I very rarely say this but if you want a example of who should not carry a gun go to their store.

Longest indoor range in Michigan. It's long enough to have fun with an ar-15 for a while…read more I think most gun ranges get pretty rough reviews because there's a bit of misunderstanding from what first time customer expects when coming to a range to shoot. For example, there are poor reviews on yelp for this place because customers didn't realize they'd need to purchase ammo in order to shoot. Ammo isn't free, it never will be free, and if you rent range time anywhere you're bringing your own ammo or paying for it at the range. Thats a bad reason to leave a poor review. Renting range time also doesn't include free lessons to use a firearm. I think that's also another misconception people have when going to a range and renting a firearm - which leads to false poor reviews IMO. If you are looking for a long indoor range to fire your rifle, this place is great. I wish it was 100yards, but 50 yards is still the longest we've got in metro detroit. Ive been here twice and would definitely go back. It's cheap. The targets are free. The range is no frills. No fancy technology. It certainly gets the job done - especially in the area. But don't walk in expecting free ammo or free lessons.

My wife and I took the CPL class and we thought it was very good. There must've been 25 people in…read morethe class. The Range was organized and got us all our shooting requirements in with half of the people needing to rent a firearm, safety glasses, earplugs, and ammo. Another time I was in there it was a lineup for the range and you could smell marijuana on somebody's clothes. The manager came over and told everyone that if they had been smoking pot, they needed to leave not only because it was dangerous but because they are federally licensed and marijuana is still illegal federally. The manager eventually had to ask them to leave. I went in another time, looking for a particular holster and couldn't find it and when I was walking out I asked the guy behind the counter if he could find one for me for my firearm and he went over to where all the holsters were and found the right one for my handgun. My weapon is 35 years old yet he matched it up perfectly.

This review is for the Southfield location and the practice range only…read more The tall guy with the long hair that works the rental counter was very helpful. I had some questions about different models which he answered without any attitude. When we had a problem with a target holder in our rental lane, he also quickly found another employee to fix the issue. I appreciated that. Later that day another guy was working the rental counter and seemed to be having a bad day. He got frazzled very easily, handed me the wrong model for rent, and then had trouble finding my ID when it came time to return the rental. He was a bit all over the place - so if you end up dealing with him my advice would be to take your time and make sure you check everything carefully before leaving the counter and the facility. As for the range itself, it was largely fine. They were doing mechanical and electrical repairs on some of the lanes while people were using adjacent lanes...probably not ideal from a safety standpoint... At any rate, I'll probably give this place another try before forming a final opinion. I may try to go during a less busy time as it gets quite crowded on weekend afternoons.
