Then this is the place for you. My friend's family rents here usually every summer for a long weekend, They used to own, but now they rent. And from what I can tell as a third party observer, Oaksores Realty has a pretty crummy system for renters. They are SO STRICT! Last year there was the whole air conditioner fiasco during the June heatwave. This year, we had to fight a $100 fine for having more than 2 cars in the driveway. Oak Shores Rentals at Lake Nacimiento. Rules regarding parking is VERY STRICT making it difficult if you have a large family, coming and going at different times. Each person's name, license plates, arrival and departure dates of every single person, must be documented ahead of time, and all persons must check in at the gate. ONLY 2 cars is allowed at each home. Overflow parking, which was used by our family, is 3 miles away from our rental home, and there is a $10 charge per day. Some gate employees had an attitude. One was heard to say: "I hate freakin" rentals ! (Excuse Me !!!!). Also why is the check in log NOT IN A COMPUTER SYSTEM? Employees had to flip through pages to find needed information, time consuming for them, and people checking in. Please review and improve your methods for your rental homes ! Make sure you bring ALL your groceries in, since no real store is close by. Rental home required us to bring: sheets, Bath and beach towels, soaps, shampoos, toilet paper, paper towels. Closest town to get decent groceries is Paso Robles - 45 minutes away. Because of all these inconveniences, our family will not go back for a vacation rental home there. read more

Our family and friends have rented numerous houses in Oak Shores at Lake Nacimiento for the past 12 years. We have always enjoyed our stay. Houses are usually clean and in working order. I will say that Oak Shores community is strict regarding how many cars can be parked in front of the house when you are a renter. But other then that we have always enjoyed our stay. And as long as you know the car rules the community is great. The club house is perfect for our family. It overlooks the lake with lounge chairs, BBQ, tables, chairs, foosball, ect.... the pool is beautiful and great for little kids since they have a separate kiddie pool. All in all we look forward to our annual vacation here. We now have numerous friends who have followed in our footsteps as well. *My husband wanted to make a note: If you actually read the pack that you receive prior to your rental you will know the rules and be able to follow them. The 2 car rule is an HOA rule not the rental companies rule. If you tell them ahead of time that there will be more then 2 cars they will arrange extra parking for you. read more

We rented here last summer. The house was fine except that it was a bit dirty when we got there. Upon leaving the house, they charged us for it because we didn't notify them the first day. If you decide to rent here, you better take pictures of everything. They will try to charge you for damage or stains and every little cleaning fee. The people at the gate are rude - just be prepared. The actual worker for Oak Shores Rentals is a liar. The owner was not willing to listen to our complaint regarding her employee. Just be warned. The houses are usually nice and it is convenient to the lake but their rules and fine are ridiculous and they honestly don't care one bit about their customers. read more

I have to agree these people treat people like they are idiots they don't even know how to run a homeowners association as far as I'm concerned we will never rent there again they treat you like second-class citizens we've been renting homes each summer at Oak Shores for the last 10 years and we will never go back after the way we were treated the last time oh yeah I forgot to mention they put a red tag in your car window so they know who to harass. we ended up with several hundreds of dollars of fines for pedi violations due to there extreme strict homeowners rules!!!! read more

There is a reason for the tight security, if you don't like don't rent. Go where nobody cares about how many cars or people just like apparently where you all live. There are people that live there full time and respect the rules maybe you folks should try the same and chill , leave the city in the city. read more

My family has been renting here for years and I have to say I've never had a better experience here after Memorial Day weekend last week. The staff was so friendly and helpful and checking in was fast and friendly- thank you Veronica and Rachel! The patrol was also very helpful when we ran into problems. I don't know if they're under new management or what but everything was incredibly smooth and fantastic, this is an amazing place to visit. I read the reviews and agree parking is very difficult for renters but if you read the rules they send you with the rental package it's not hard to follow. read more

The oak shore rental (Cindy owner) was a complete disaster. Booked over 30days prior lakefront home reservation. Over 15 family friends for a vacation there. Five days prior got an email "We want to let you know that Due to the Quagga and Zebra Mussels that have been plaguing the waterways on the West Coast, any boat that has been in an infected body of water within the last 30 days will not be allowed inside the gates of Oak Shores." I suppose it could be my own fault it would have been nice to know that at time of reservation when I booked. Cindy canceled my reservation through an email (without my knowledge) after taking to her son, I wasn't rude, I was not loud all I asked was "my boat is new I have no idea if it went in a quarantined lake for testing by manufacturer sir, I'm five days before vacation with about 15 family members etc etc etc. Called back when I saw cancelled reservation talked to Cindy she stated "I don't like the way you talked to my son!" I apologized said everything I could to get uncanceled reservations, nothing worked. My spouse called her back she hung up on my spouse. INCREDIBlE read more

Parking for cars and boats is way too strict. Only AT&T cell service works. Other service providers are SOL and you are left trying to reach your friends with no luck. Not 2017 friendly, this community has not accepted technology well. They still do everything by paper. If you are a renter, I will consider renting elsewhere. It made our family experience so difficult and stressful. I will never come back to this place. Only people on the list may come and go as they please. As a renter, everything has to be well sought out and planned ahead. Plan to get parking tickets and plan to throw your jet ski in a bush outside the front gate just to bring it in another way. Upon our arrival, a very poor first impression was made at the gate by Jodi who was extremely rude, even antagonistic. Here is an example. She quoted my son $125 for his boat fee. He gave her the money and she very rudely said, "you are $5 short." My son told her she had given her $125 like she asked and Jodi spitted out "I said 130!" The other gal told her she said $125.....Jodi seethed, "well I meant $130." Like my son could read her mind!!!! Then we were confronted by the security guy for having too many cars even though we got in at midnight and had not yet unloaded. A happy and very excited anticipation for this costly one week trip was squashed. The first impression is made at the gate, and they create a feeling that they are loathe to have to deal with renters. The second impression is that they will harass you once inside. It is beautiful here, but I would rather stay somewhere renter friendly. You treat us like 2nd class citizens and guilty of something right from the start. This is offensive and shortsighted, unless the unstated goal is to have no return renters. I will gladly oblige. This is made especially sad by the fact that we really like the house and owners. read more
