Very nice and fast. The office called me just after being in the hospital just to see how I was doing. Caring. Top-notch type of care.

I've worn glasses since 3rd grade and have been patients of several eye doctors over the years…read more There is only one eye doctor that I liked immensely but his offices are now 2600 miles away. So, I don't think I'll be visiting him any time soon. Since moving here to East Tennessee ten years ago, I've had two eye doctors but neither really did it for me. I was without insurance for two years, and so when I got new insurance, I began my search. I wanted an established practice with a great reputation that was nearby. My search included Hardin Valley Eye Care and because it was nearest to my house, I made an appointment. The minute I walked into the office, I was encouraged. COVID protocols are still being practiced - 1st star; reception and staff were super friendly - 2nd star; I was seen at my appointment time instead of waiting around like other offices - 3rd star; When I met Dr. Travis Thompson, the deal was sealed - 4th star; and they have a large selection of frames - 5th star. I could go on with more stars, but they've already secured my business for years to come. I picked up my glasses today and I haven't seen with such clarity since my eye doctor in California. This is a classy, professional and welcoming practice which I have already recommended to others. So drop by and SEE if they are a FIT for your optical needs.

Dr. Best lives up to her name. What a patient, prompt, and caring doc. In Ohio, our son was…read moreterrified of going to the eye doctor, as they didn't explain things well and were impatient with him re: immense fear of eye dilation. Here, they provide an option of having a photo taken of eyes instead of dilation (at an extra cost). This was a welcomed alternative and saved us all a lot of time and tears, too. As someone who has never worn glasses, Dr. Best explained to me what she was doing and why, and answered any questions I had without a lot of medical jargon that would make me scratch my head in confusion. After the eye photos, she even had my son come over to look at the pics and ask her questions. He thought that was super cool. He (shockingly) told me as we left, "That was pretty fun, Mommy!" Whatttt?! We were seen very quickly and the appointment only lasted about 30 minutes, including picking out and purchasing new frames. Speaking of, there was a pretty big selection of youth frames, which was refreshing. They were all fairly affordable (most under $150) and ended up being fully covered by our insurance. Thrilled to have found this office, with high-tech exams, and highly empathetic staff.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I was told it would be two weeks to get my way overpriced glasses and…read moresunglasses, and after two weeks I called them this morning to ask for an update. I called the number that was on their website, and was apparently connected to a call center. The call center person asked for my name and birthday and was told that my glasses were ready to be picked up. I drove all the way there to be told that they were not there. I was told I probably called the wrong office (I called the number on their website). As I was driving home, I called the same number again to try to figure out where my glasses are. The woman on the phone asked me for my name and birthday and she said she saw my order. She then put me on hold to contact the office and after about fifteen minutes on hold was told that my glasses would probably be another week. Apparently, when I was told two weeks it was a lie. When I got home, someone called me from there, responding to my message I left yesterday when I tried calling them about my glasses and was told that the call center don't have access to records and can't look up anyone's information to see if the glasses are available, which I find dubious. I'm still waiting for my glasses. I paid for them so I definitely am going to pick them up, but if you're looking for eye care, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I wish I read the reviews before I went.
