Fortunately, my worries were completely unfounded. I came in at lunch, and chatted with the staff for a bit. They all seemed intelligent, compassionate, and helpful - they knew my grandmother (who was also visiting), greeted her by name, and were happy to see her. We went through the access-controlled door, and the residents seemed happy. The center was carpeted, there were plenty of seats people were sitting on, reading, talking with friends, etc. My grandfather was far more well-kempt than he ever was at home, and seemed in good spirits. I also loved that outside of every room, there were shadowboxes of information and memorabilia about each resident. It helps humanize each resident, even if they have advanced dementia, and I appreciated that. The staff and visitors should never forget that they're caring for engineers, doctors, soldiers, teachers, etc. Yelp's rating system says that 5 starts is "as good as it gets." I don't know if that's true here, because I don't have the experience necessary to compare. However, if you're looking for a memory care center for a loved one, be sure to check out Riverside.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and there is a little kitchenette for those inclined to cook. Additionally, there are laundry facilities, if you want to have that done for you. There are plenty of areas to gather with friends/family and to entertain. The dining area is spacious, and meals are done "cafeteria style" where you slide your tray down the line and choose what you want. If you're on a walker, they'll bring it to your table for you. Additionally, there are plenty of activities (BINGO!) and a nice little sundries shop on the ground floor. The cost of living there includes utilities except for cable and phone. Everything else is included. The price my friend quoted was very reasonable for everything that is included. Conveniently located in North Richland Hills, Morada is near a major shopping area in the mid-cities area in Tarrant County. If looking for an assisted living facility, I'd say this would be a great place to start your search.

6/20/19 Once again while visiting my mother, during family…read morenight when you would think they would be on their best behavior, the captive birds that live here had unclean water and empty hulls to eat. Martha, the new office manager noticed about the same time I did and gave them clean water and added to the food I had on me and was able to give them. She was very sweet and said she had no idea how to tend to the birds or whose job it was. I can't say the same for the other people I have begged over the last 2 to 3 years who all insist they do so feed those birds with a sneer on their faces and deny the fact that they had nothing fit to eat or drink. In other words I'm just making the whole thing up irregardless of the several dated photos of filthy yellow water and bowls full of empty hulls. I obviously have nothing better to do than accuse people who are taking good care of their animals of NOT taking care of them. I've sent emails to a succession of "directors" who ALL deny the problem or ignore it. If they are neglecting these voiceless little sentient creatures, what else are they getting away with neglecting? Maybe a visit from PETA or a news crew just dropping in might encourage them to FEED AND WATER THOSE BIRDS EVERY SINGLE DAY INCLUDING THE WEEKENDS! Don't Be Fooled! Mustang Creeks Estates Assisted Living in Keller should be avoided at all costs…read more My father was a resident there for almost a year. His safety, care, food quality, and overall experience has been horrific. So many things wrong and reported but to no avail. Most of the staff are not trained and have no experience cooking, dealing with different Levels of care, and therefore they quit. There is someone new almost daily and they end up quitting because it is a horrible place to work. Employees quit and walk out during their shift leaving the residents unsupervised, without food and medication. The food quality is very poor and most of the employees just do what they can preparing a meal and MOST of the time the food is NOT available to them in order to make the recipes from the "FAKE" cookbook. They leave the House and go to the other houses to get the ingredients needed to prepare the meals if it is available at another house. The turnover of employees is VERY High including management. I was told they are getting new food vendors and recipes, training for employees and just give them time. I gave them 7-8 months and was told the same thing many times and they have a new vendor for food but it is even worse than before. And, OH BOY, did sales put on a show when we did our tour of the facility... Had a lady in there cooking Chicken and Dumplings, baked goods displayed and then after about 2 weeks NOTHING, never saw that same woman again, or any of the same employees. There are some good ones but they don't stay because they do care and don't want to work for a place that doesn't give them the support they need or the residents. I live very close by and therefore I was up there quite often and witnessed it all. The residents have also complained and they are not listened to or given any resolve. They advertise and tell you it is 24 hr care and it is NOT! Keep in mind that my dad was in the assisted living house. But still supposed to have at least 1 person on the 10:00 pm shift to 6:00 am shift but they do NOT! A person from another house comes and checks on them for 30 minutes and then goes back to the other house/ so 2 houses share 1 employee. Also, most of the people that were in my dads house are using walkers, wheelchairs, and have some sort of dementia, there is NO way all of those people could get out of that house if there was a fire, if someone got up in the night and fell....who would help them? This place is NOT a place you want to put your loved one!

We never felt any pressure and was patient with all of our questions and worked with our schedule to tour Discovery Village and explain what would need to be done and what to expect if we chose this facility for mom. When residents approach you and tell you how happy they are, that is a very good sign. The staff is super friendly. I was able to observe how they are respectful and gentle when they speak to the residents, and how the residents engage with them in a positive manner. No anger or resentment, but dignity, kindness and respect that is reciprocal between residents and staff. The facility is more like a hotel and very cozy. I've never seen anything like it. The table at the dining hall that mom is assigned to seats 4 and the other ladies I met at her table are very friendly and just took mom under their wing like she was their sister. My brother and I are just simply blown away. I've called to check on mom every day since we moved her in and she very happy and I cannot express how comforting that is to our family. This place is just amazing.

The Wellington at North Richland Hills, TX is one of the most poorly managed senior communities in…read morethe DFW metroplex. The business manager, Arika Healy, is not a nice person, and she was unresponsive in assisting me with issues I had. Several unpleasant things happened to my 93 yr old mother while she was a resident there for a little over a year. Theft of personal items from a housekeeper was allowed to continue for several residents after management had been advised. There was a sex ring among several residents that management shielded from scrutiny and made several female residents very uncomfortable. The perpetrator of the illicit activity was personally shielded by Arika Healy, and residents who complained were ignored and villified. It was not a good situation. The staff turnover was excessive, and several good staff members quit their jobs when my mother was a resident. Prospective residents and their families need to understand that if a resident passes away, they or their estate will automatically be charged an extra month's rent for not giving a 30-day written notice. Apparently with the Sonida Senior Living company which owns The Wellington, a dead resident is expected to a give 30-day notice upon moving out. I would never recommend this senior community to anyone looking for a safe, nice place for a family member, and I truly regret that my elderly mother's last days were spent at this facility.
