The staff are very friendly and the pro shop stocks some great golfing gear from clubs to shoes. There is a gym with swimming pool and sauna which currently has great offers for joining which I am tempted to join. Although I have never stayed at the hotel a colleague at work stayed there for a few weeks as was up here from Birkenhead and he thoroughly enjoyed his stay! The newly refurbished bar is also an added bonus. I am looking to become a member of this club very shortly as it is one of the best around.

On a warm summer's day I can imagine a round of golf there would be very pleasant -- but by the same token it must be pretty parky at times in winter, with the wind blowing straight off the cold North Sea We had a Sunday lunch at the club house there once a few years ago, and enjoyed the meal very much. The food was good and the views across the golf course and out to sea were fantastic. If they still have a restaurant that's open to the public we could certainly recommend it based on our experience.

My 8 year old daughter asked to use the toilet and went to the toilet on the range. She was told by an employee called Harry that she was not allowed to use the toilet unless she was using the range!! She came back and told me what had happened. I then went around and confronted Harry as to why he wouldn't let my 8 year old daughter use the toilet. I was told it's only for people using the range. I then proceeded to tell Harry that we were all going to the range after we'd been into American Golf to which he replied "well where's your golf club's?" Questioning my integrity is not something I appreciate from a customer facing employee. I would suggest if Harry the jobsworth has lost the will to be civil whilst dealing with customers he should be replaced with someone who actually wants to be there and someone with customer service skills. Harry simply doesn't possess any.
