My son usually gets nervous at any kind of appointment but The sweetest dental assistant made him feel quite at ease. He was hesitant to get on the chair but she talked him thru it and he was even excited to get on after that. Then the dentist came! Before even getting to his teeth she spent time making him giggle and not be scared of her (which he usually was at a previous dentist at other office). He willingly sat perfectly still for her and I know that's because he trusted her and was completely comfortable (he was NOT like that at his last appointment in a different location)When he was done they gave him a little treat bag,a balloon and even an extra balloon for his stuffed animal he brought. The office is very efficient, so you likely wont spend too much time in that area, but the good news is there is immediately something for your kid to turn its attention to. In the treatment area, its an open landscape layout, so the kid is taken to a chair in a large open room where they can see what other kids are doing, and that everyone is "ok." They get a bib with their name written on it in big letter with a smiley face. They are given sunglasses, headphones shaped like animals, and a menu of three movie choices to distract them while they get their treatment. They get to pick a colorful animal shaped handle toothbrush. They get a token at the end to redeem at vending machines on their way out that contain little toys and bouncy balls. This office is run in a highly efficient manner, and all of the staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Sun went to USC and Harvard. He has a kind demeanor, and I am comfortable with his professional ability and training. Scheduling is not difficult. They offer reminders via text and email, which is hugely helpful. My preschooler has not only had a good experience with routine cleaning and xrays, but she cracked a tooth on the playground, and Dr. Sun gave her a root canal and crown. That's pretty major stuff for a little one. He and his staff provided excellent counseling on treatment options, and did a great job getting us through the root canal procedure. I feel lucky that we have a resource like Dr. Sun's practice so close to our home in Shoreline.

I also appreciate that he's conservative with treatment--he doesn't recommend fillings or cavity work unless it's truly necessary. Once, when my son had sudden pain from an emerging tooth, Dr. Lee even responded to my text on a weekend and reassured me on what to do, which was a huge relief. I spoke to the lady in the billing department and she was very rude and disrespectful, I told her that I should have been told about it by a phone call, text or email that my visits were not covered anymore, if I knew I would not have got the last teeth cleaning. But instead they didn't tell me and charged me for it. When I told the lady it wasn't fair and I would not pay the bill, she raised her voice and threatened me that she would send me to a collection agency, so I just hanged up the phone..
