I have brought my kids here for almost 17 years and every interaction in pleasant. The office staff, hygienists, and Dr. Sun himself have always been kind, courteous, and efficient. I'm sitting in the office right now after having added a service, the hygienist went to let the front desk staff know and the came back within minutes with an updated estimate of the final cost, completely assuaging my worries. Oh my gosh this place is amazing!! The nicest people on the planet work here, from reception to Dr. Sun himself. Adorable clean office with lots of things to distract littles during our wait, which was only a couple minutes. I think our hygienist was Megan? She was so kind! Our daughter wouldn't lay down and she didn't seem bothered at all that our daughter wouldn't cooperate. She let her hold all the dental tools. We then saw Dr. Sun who made my daughter so calm she didn't cry once! I'm really so impressed. He even needed to scrape some calcium off her teeth and she was unphased as he sang and worked. Blown away! We will always go here!! He also gave us really helpful tips for brushing and flossing at home. The clinic was amazing. When you walk in, it is very inviting and kid friendly. My kiddo felt comfortable and started playing immediately. The setup in the back was just as great. There are TVs on the ceiling to keep the kids happy and it is a very bright and fun atmosphere. The technician and Dr. Sun were great with my kid. He of course did not agree with getting his teeth cleaned, but altogether it was pretty painless. My kid got a ball to end the trip. I would highly recommend this clinic. read more

I have taken my child to this practice for several years now. Dr. Sun and his staff are great with children and very gentle. They are always professional. The cleanings and treatments, and explanations of what those entail, are thorough. The atmosphere is suitable for small children to adolescents. They are quick to respond to any messages. We have loved taking our kids here from the beginning. In fact, when we moved 30 min away we tried a local dentist and they just didn't compare so we came back to this office. But it's only after my son had his first filling yesterday that I feel compelled to write a review. Let me start by saying that I'm a hypnotherapist who specializes in phobias so I see a lot of dental phobia clients. As a result, finding a good pediatric dentist was pretty high on my list of importance given what I have experienced in my work life. Naturally, due to my line of work, I was pretty worried about my son needing his first filling. He's a sensitive kid who doesn't love doctors or dentists and my concern about creating a future phobia was high. I was totally blown away by Dr. Sun and his team. They talked with him in such a positive way, explained every step in "kid language". Things like "we are going to paint a sparkle on your tooth!". They also built him up, cheering him on and showering him with compliments about how well he was doing every step of the way. The result? My son was relaxed and confident the entire time. He didn't even need anesthesia! It was fast, painless and he walked away feeling great. This is exactly what a pediatric dentist's office should be. Well done Dr. Sun! This is the dentist I wish I had when I was growing up! The place is inviting as soon as you walk in. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. They know how to work with kids and make them comfortable. They have an easy way to get x-rays of the kids' teeth. Simple as biting down on a single sensor and the computer takes a photo of ALL the teeth in a single shot. Only problem is if your child has a small mouth and a high gag reflex, like my son, then it might be difficult. But, the dental hygienists are very understanding and encouraging. Letting my son know they'll try next time. No pressure to continue on if they don't want to. KUDOS! The highlights: The kids lay down on a bench and look up on the ceiling where there's a TV for them to watch! They get to choose their movie while they get their teeth cleaned. My kids have never been so happy to be at the dentist. When all is done they get their "goodie bag" (toothbrush of their choice, toothpaste, and floss) AND...they get a golden coin which they get to use at the prize center! My kids are already asking me when they get to go back to the dentist! AWESOME! Highly recommend! read more

My 5 year old son had a cavity on his molar. Completed in half an hour - and my son watched Curious George the whole time. He was just fine and has a great association with the Dentist. The office is beautifully designed to make children comfortable and put them at ease. The waiting room has a play nook with toys and a tv playing animated content. The office is very efficient, so you likely wont spend too much time in that area, but the good news is there is immediately something for your kid to turn its attention to. In the treatment area, its an open landscape layout, so the kid is taken to a chair in a large open room where they can see what other kids are doing, and that everyone is "ok." They get a bib with their name written on it in big letter with a smiley face. They are given sunglasses, headphones shaped like animals, and a menu of three movie choices to distract them while they get their treatment. They get to pick a colorful animal shaped handle toothbrush. They get a token at the end to redeem at vending machines on their way out that contain little toys and bouncy balls. This office is run in a highly efficient manner, and all of the staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Sun went to USC and Harvard. He has a kind demeanor, and I am comfortable with his professional ability and training. Scheduling is not difficult. They offer reminders via text and email, which is hugely helpful. My preschooler has not only had a good experience with routine cleaning and xrays, but she cracked a tooth on the playground, and Dr. Sun gave her a root canal and crown. That's pretty major stuff for a little one. He and his staff provided excellent counseling on treatment options, and did a great job getting us through the root canal procedure. I feel lucky that we have a resource like Dr. Sun's practice so close to our home in Shoreline. read more

It is always so awesome to meet and have the pleasure of being patients of a truly outstanding practice!! My two kids are patients of Dr Sun and every time we go in for either a cleaning or a filling, we're always greeted in a friendly manner and treated like were one of a kind. There is never a rushed demeanor; there's always a thorough appointment with time left for anxious moms (like myself, who didn't have a fantastic experience with dentists in my youth) I mean, where were all the "Dr. Suns" of the profession in the 80's?! Not only are our visits amazing but to receive a phone call from Dr Sun following a filling at the end of a busy day, is truly above and beyond. All medical practices should really follow suit of this extraordinary practice! read more

Dr. Sun and his Staff are great. I have recommended him to all my family and friends with kids that live in the area. The office is clean and set up definitely with kids in mind. My oldest daughter was not the easy patient for the first couple years but Dr. Sun and his staff were very patient and understanding even with a screaming toddler. He can sit back and watch his favorite movie while they work on his teeth, and they make it so comfortable that he barely even realizes they are there. Everyone is surprised when I say my kids love going to the dentist, but it's not hard to see why when you go to Dr. Sun's office. I wish I could've gone there when I was a kid! The kids get to pick their own movies to watch, so they're set from the moment they lay down, my daughter barely flinches throughout the entire appointment. My son is still too young to watch the movies but the staff does a great job easing even 1yr olds into the experience. They let the kids see all the tools and explain what's happening and what they're using it for. It's super low pressure for the kids. read more

Would give them 10 stars if I could. What a gift this business is! Dr. Sun and his staff are amazing. Such a great setup, and I feel my family is so well cared for he. They are attentive and do such a good job of handling any nerves/anxiety the kids may have. We had to get 8, yes, 8!, deep cavities filled in my 5 year old after discovering the dentist we had been seeing was terrible. I was so nervous, but PPD did an amazing job and made it a breeze. The entire experience at Pacific Pediatric Dentistry has been stellar. From making an appointment, to the knowledgeable front desk staff, to the new, modern waiting room and exam areas, to Dr. Sun's fabulous and calm interaction with the kiddos. We love Dr. Sun! My daughter, who is 2.5, has been a few times and each time she gets more and more comfortable with the experience. The dental assistants are also friendly and engaging. Not over-the-top sing-song-y since they work with kids, they just explain the process in a way the kids understand. We've moved out of the area, but we'll continue to go to Dr. Sun because it's just too hard to find a good doc! P.S. Did I mention Dr. Sun sings a song to the kids while he brushes their teeth? My 9 year old went in for tooth extraction x 4 in prep for orthodontics. He was VERY nervous about the procedure. Dr Sun and his staff made the whole experience stressless for him. Very new, clean and well staffed facility. Waiting room is fun for the kids with a nice, clean play area and some TV. Lots of staff on hand so they can take you on time typically. Dr. Sun and all of the staff are great with kids. They even have monitors on the ceiling, so the kids can watch tv while being worked on and it really helps put them at ease.
