Their "Title One" program is poor and does not really offer help to the student, is more of a "detention" than learning. Homework and responsibility of learning are constantly being shoved to the parent because the teachers are busy teaching "the FCAT" so that they all can pass and the school can get a good score. There is not real care about the children well being and future by any of the staff, including the principal. When presented with the challenge of a student that cant "run with the pack", the teachers will immediately label your child as lazy, depressed, among other names. They will offer you no testing of any sort or any kind of assistance to try to determine if your child has a disability or does not actually want to do the work. My experience and my child's experience with this school were nothing short of a nightmare. I would recommend being proactive early if you think your child might have a disability and seek for an alternate school. I guarantee that you will not receive any support from anyone at the school to actually help with your child's learning.

The programs offered specialize in agriculture, natural resources, and life sciences. CALS has two schools with it: Griffin-Floyd Hall Home of CALS the School of Forest Resources and Conservation (forestry and conservation) and the School of Natural Resources and Environment (natural resources and environmental science). The Florida Department of Citrus has its department of economic research at 2125 McCarty Hall. CALS administers the degree programs of the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). IFAS is a federal, state, and local government partnership dedicated to develop knowledge in agriculture, human and natural resources, and the life sciences and to make that knowledge accessible to sustain and enhance the quality of human life. With 24 undergraduate majors, more than 50 areas of specialization and 20 graduate programs, CALS is an educational leader in the areas of food, agriculture, natural resources and life sciences. ~[Courtesy of Wikipedia] I spent my formative years in this college and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development. They have great and caring staff offering exceptional programs here. I do recommend applying or attending UF CALS for higher education and growth.

McCarty Hall is the headquarters building complex for the University of Florida's Institute of Food…read moreand Agricultural Sciences, or IFAS. IFAS is the largest independent unit of the state university system of Florida and while a part of the University of Florida at Gainesville, IFAS is allowed its own funding lines and maintains extension and research centers throughout Florida. Moreover, it also supervises 4-H Clubs and all state-level agricultural extension services in Florida. IFAS is administered from McCarty Hall-A by a top official of the rank of an academic senior vice president at UF--only two such positions exist at UF, with the other being over the Health Science Center. In theory, if the state was to close UF tomorrow, IFAS could continue to exist on its own merits and funding. McCarty Hall itself is a prime example of 1950s institutional architecture, built in 1956 and designed by architect Guy C. Fulton. Approaching the main north-facing entrance, note the liberal use of clear glass brick and sea-foam green coated tile inside. Aside from the IFAS administration, the sprawling McCarty complex houses faculty offices, classrooms, and research labs. While it's been renovated numerous times, McCarty still retains its distinctive 1950s charms--and problems, including a recessed faucet for filling janitorial buckets on the third floor which cannot be used as it leaks into a display case on the second floor. The original science library of UF, the Hume Library, was inside McCarty also prior to the Marston Science Library being constructed. As a building McCarty Hall is a perfect example of college architecture in the 1950s and while to some perhaps not as majestic as older buildings on UF's campus, is essential to our understanding of UF's physical culture.

She was wearing super bright clothing but somehow got missed. It was during the hottest time of the year so needless to say I was not very happy. When the issue was addressed, same day, it seemed like it was not even important. The issue was swept under the rug and excuses were made one of which was "well it was only or like 2 minutes". I don't care if it was 30 seconds because it only takes 5 seconds for her get seriously hurt or worse. Yes, their security seems to be amazing but the care for the children should not stop there.

They leave them in the cold without proper jackets to keep the kids warm. Everyone looks sick. The corporate office is heartless and doesn't care about issues you bring to their attention. This was the biggest mistake we made bringing our child here. Beware of this franchise! They are all around horrible. They even nickeled and dimed us when we asked for a refund because of the abuse we received. We paid for a month in advance and had to pull our baby out 2 weeks in since no one did anything about the horrible bites my baby got. I will never recommend them to anyone!

UF provides one of the best higher educations in the country. Unlike when I went to school, if you signed your name on the application you pretty much got in. Now admission is tough. The school has so much to offer. Outside of education there are nationally ranked sports teams. Just experience a football weekend and you will see the school spirit and you will see where the term "Saturdays are for the Gators" came from. So many top athletes have come from UF, football, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, swimming and more. Not into sports, there are plenty of other clubs and activities available. While the teachers themselves are caring and dedicated, the administration under the current principal is an absolute disaster. Negligence and lack of basic child safety are ongoing issues that have been ignored or brushed aside by those in charge. The school's leadership is unresponsive and unaccountable, making repeated and serious errors that put children at risk. Communication is poor, concerns from parents are dismissed, and there seems to be no real oversight or willingness to improve. To make matters worse, the St. Augustine Diocese--who should be stepping in to protect students and hold the administration accountable--is just as indifferent. It's incredibly disappointing to see such disregard for children's wellbeing from those who claim to represent a faith-based educational institution. I wouldn't trust this administration with my child's safety or education. Until major changes are made at the leadership level, this school is not a safe or trustworthy place. The teachers deserve better (as there are so many who stay because of our kids)! The kids deserve better! And parents deserve the truth! Avoid St. Patrick at all costs. My son started when the school opened when he was 2 and graduated from VPK last year at age 5 (we…read morewent for four years). As an only child, I was very worried about him being isolated from other children because social interaction is so critical at this age. At Open Arms, he learned so much - his ABCs, how to count, write his name. He learned how to share and interact with his peers. He learned acceptable behavior and when his behavior wasn't the best, the teachers all worked with him on "better choices." Since he was a full time student, I particularly liked the combination of organized activity and free play time (both inside and out). Play is a child's work and it is through play that they learn. That he had a great balance is very evident in the person he is today. What I also like is that over the years, the staff has had a mix of age groups. It's not just older women, some are just out of college, some are moms with kids of their own. I really liked it when there were two guys on staff who were great role models. We were very fortunate to have been able to spend four years at the school. My son does like to come back and visit his old teachers.
