I hired Jesus/Oak 91 to hang a chain from my ceiling so that I could attach a trapeze/swing/etc. for my kid. I first called him to tell him what I wanted to get done. I asked for his email so I could send pictures and an Amazon link to the products I thought I should buy. He gave me his email and I sent him everything. About 24 hrs afterwards, he texted and then we chatted on the phone about the project. He is very prompt with text/calls. We scheduled a date soon after where he said that he would assess the situation and if there were any additional parts needed, he could run to Home Depot in the same appt and do it quickly. He arrived and first checked out my attic to see what the beam situation was. While he was up there, he noticed that there were rat droppings (ew) and even a rat that had been caught in a rat trap that an exterminator that I had hired many months ago left behind. He disposed of the rat for me! FREAKING THANK GOODNESS! Afterwards, he deduced that my exposed wood beam was the safest to hold a lot of weight and that the parts I bought on Amazon were perfect. He and his partner got up on their ladder and got it all done! He provided some best practices and advice about maintenance and safety and then that was done! Oh, I forgot to mention. Cannot recommend Jesus enough! He was truly one of the best handymen experience I've ever had and will definitely be working with him in the future for bigger projects. We had some mold growing in our shower and bath so I reached out to several handymen on Yelp regarding caulking. Jesus responded extremely quickly and he also quoted us the best price (seriously his price was unmatched). He followed up with me and even called me the morning of to the confirm the service. He arrived promptly and immediately wore booties without me even asking (which I appreciated in our no-shoes household). He was extremely professional, and as I explained and showed him the molding, he asked lots of questions and I could tell he was very intent on doing a good job. He ended up staying 3.5hours because he did such an amazing and detailed job on our shower, digging away at the mold meticulously. The final product was top notch work. I felt bad that the project took so long because the mold was much worse than expected so I offered to pay him a bit more, but he honored the initial estimated cost for me, which I was so so so appreciative and impressed by his integrity. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have come across Jesus from Oak 91 on Yelp. And if you are looking for a contractor for any kind of work on your home, I can't recommend Jesus highly enough. He is an artisan and a craftsman -- and by the time he has completed his work, you're going to love your home even more. I had a beautiful 3-pane Fleetwood sliding glass door that had been installed improperly by the inexperienced house flipper who sold me my home. The track was installed backwards so the weep holes drained into the house, instead of out -- so whenever it rained, the rain that collected on the track drained into the house. I contacted Fleetwood and they recommended a company called Ultimate Installz to perform the deinstallation/reinstallation of the door. However, when I contacted Ultimate, they would only do the deinstall/reinstall. I would have to find a contractor to do the demolition work in preparation of Ultimate's arrival and the finishing work when they were done. Thus, I found Jesus/Oak 91 and I'm so grateful that I did. While Ultimate was an absolute nightmare to work with, Jesus made everything else so easy. He seems so knowledgable about all facets of construction that after my initial consultation with him, I felt like I was in really good hands. And from Day 1, when he arrived to perform the initial demo job, he set up a wall of plastic all around the job site so that none of the construction debris would get into the house. That was something I really appreciated. A lot of work was done over the course of a week-and-a-half and the interior of my home was perfectly sealed. On the day that Ultimate performed their deinstall/reinstall of the door, they needed Jesus there in the morning to remove one of the planks on the patio so they could attach a pan underneath the track. Jesus stayed for the entire day, being on hand to make sure Ultimate could get whatever tweaks they needed to get the job done right. And it turned out they did need him throughout the day. When Ultimate was done their work and it came time to finish the job, Jesus pointed out to me an imperfection of Ultimate's door installation job-- instead of the door being perfectly flush with the wall, as it had been before, it was offset by about 1/4"-1/2". He told me he would do his best to cover up the flaw. Not only did he cover up the flaw (had he not pointed it out, I never would have known), the final job was impeccable. It was flawless. I would never have been able to tell that any work had been done on this door, the frame or the wall around it.. And he left the job site cleaner than it was before he arrived on the very first day. I don't think you are going to find a contractor who cares more about his work and your home than Jesus. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. read more
