Avoid this place unless you like being preyed upon because you didn't bring cash. I came in for food and was notified that the kitchen was closed. Fine. So I ordered a beer to be polite. They didn't inform me that there was a cash only policy for one beer. It wasn't until after I drank my beer that the blonde woman working there informed me I had to pay in cash. I told her that was impossible because I had no way of getting cash. Wouldn't you know it, I had to buy 2 more beers to-go if I wanted to pay by card. So I was forced to buy 2 beers to-go because they want to hide their earnings. I was not notified before hand that I had to pay in cash even though the blonde woman told me there were signs everywhere indicating so. Apparently you can't have a beer at this bar unless you pay cash. Avoid this trap like the plague. They are dishonest and predatory. read more

My husband and I came to this pub on our trip to Nuremberg as we both love Irish pubs! This place was very unique to us as it was enclosed, no outdoor space, and the vibe overall was intimate. We sat at the bar and the service was great. We never had to grab a servers attention as they were always passing by and asking us if everything was okay or if we needed more beer. I did end up ordering the nachos which to my surprise was a large portion and absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for a cozy place to grab a drink or two especially during the winters when you don't want to sit outside. Weather was great, do the indoor portion of the restaurant was closed. We enjoyed the Biergarten and people watching. While we were seated right away, some had to wait a few minutes for a table. We enjoyed the (cod) fish & chips along with a local beer. Definitely recommend! read more

Went here last week while one trip to Nuremberg. We scored seats next to the river. We had fantastic servers! We split an order of chips & fried mushrooms. Both were delicious. One of the girls ordered a house Chardonnay. She took a sip of it & gagged. It was not good. She wisely switched to what the rest of us were having, Kilkenny. Go there for ambience. It was just superb. The food was delicious. We had chicken burger and offen Kartoffeln with Chilli con Carne stuffing. Usually I don't like the traditional offen Kartoffeln, but the idea of putting Chill con Carne as stuffing is just awesome. The BEST breakfast in town! No joke! Whenever I'm in the area I try to make time for a visit to this great place! I love the food (although the portions could be larger), especially the their breakfast menu. The Full Irish breakfast is pretty much the best breakfast you can get... Plus they're the only place around Nuremberg that actually serves UK style pork sausages (which is a big plus). The outside area is wonderful, sitting there drinking a pint and watching that tiny "waterfall" is a wonderful way to spend the day. They have a extra outside bar area, which only opens when the weather is nice, so you don't have to wait for ages just to get a pint while the server is inside! (another huge plus) The staff is friendly, they all speak English (some of them actually don't even speak German) and they're super fast and efficient. The only downsides I can possibly think of are the fact that the food is rather pricey, they open rather late (middayish) and it gets very crowded in the evenings. There's no parking anywhere close but I always enjoy a stroll through the city to get here anyway. Anyway, if you're in Nuremberg and unsure where to go.. go here! read more

This is one of my most favorite bars in the world. For one I've shut the place down a good 5-6 times and have some GREAT pictures from this place. The owner Jimmy is VERY cool and if you buy him some shots he will sit down and drink with you. I REALLY like their lamb stew. I used to come here EVERY February during a great 4 year stretch for the Toy Fair and have some great memories at O'Sheas singing Irish songs with some great people. read more

A fantastic all around pub. Always friendly and even when packed, it never feels that crowded - not sure why. The building is also insanely cool - apparently some sort of monasterial manufacturing facility (or so I gathered from the barkeep). Even if your German is sub-par, most of the staff speak English pretty well and will keep you well lubricated. During the summer the outside tables are right on the shore of the river. This is the best place in the world!! It will forever be my favorite bar!!! I have soooo many great memories in this place! The staff are amazing people, and so are many of the regulars!!! I can't wait for the day that I am able to make it back here!!! So not only are the people who work here amazing, but the food and drinks are great as well! I always preferred a Guinness but they can make anything you need! As for the food, if your there early get the Irish Breakfast, you won't regret it. We wondered in here from the cold on New Years Day night, when all else was closed. To our surprise they were open and busy. The ambience is a classic cozy Irish pub, with actual Irishmen behind the bar. The ceiling is mesmerizing and I enjoyed the brass pipping behind the bar. They have your regional German beers as well as the typical Irish lot (Guinness etc.) The music was good, and staff friendly. My wife's Irish stew was perfectly done and left me jealous while I waited for my hamburger that took 30 minutes to come, and was average at best. read more

O'Sheas is the best known Irish pub in Nuremberg. For me it's a little too contrived, overloaded with Irish kitsch. It can be very hard to get a table, especially in winter. The menu is immense, and what you get is ok, delivered by one of the genuine, or not, Irish waitresses. The best thing about O'Shea's is the beer, not only Guinness and Murphys, but also English bottled beer like Hobgoblin and Old Speckled Hen, very unusual and great to see! read more

Illegallly parked my car in the red zone up the hill to enjoy the best burger in Germany I have found to date. It was hand made and had good texture and meat. No dense half pork half beef dense hockey pucks found here, thank God! The annex bar by the river is very chill. Would definitely stop again. read more
