This was a compromise for our family on vacation. While my partner and I prefer eating the local fare, her sons wanted a taste of home. This burger place was next to our hotel, so we kept passing it and every time it was full of people regardless of what time of day it was. Even though not all of the reviews were favorable, we decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did! First of all, I love the interior and design of this place. You do feel like you're in a hipster fairy tale with the white birch trees, sleek black tables and chairs, and even the menu looks like a page out of a fairy tale! There are menus on the tables, and they do have an English menu so ask for one if you don't see it. Food: -Trumpfblatt salad (9.80 euro): This salad comes with goat cheese, pear, walnuts, and potato dressing (it is Germany after all). The salad is a large size, which I appreciated. The salads come dressed, so you need to ask if you want dressing the side. -Goat cheese & pepper sauce burger (8.20 euro): My husband ordered this burger thinking that he would split it with me. However, he ended up eating it all and he's not crazy about goat cheese either so you know it's good! -Mango ginger refresher + fries (5.50 euro): For the lunch special, you can get your choice of a refresher + fries for an additional 5.50 euro. This is a good deal since the refreshers alone are 4.50 euro. The refresher was perfect on a hot German summer day, and I love the cute bottle it comes in! Service: -We had to get the attention of a server in order to be seated since there's no hostess, but after that we didn't have problems with getting our food. There are quite a few burger bars in the area but this place takes the cake. The ambiance is so trendy with upbeat house music and chic decor. They offer a large variety of burgers including vegan, vegetarian, beef and chicken. If you order the lunch special (before 5pm) you get a choice of side, beverage and coffee or tea afterwards. The staff is fantastic. They explained everything and were very upbeat and friendly. English menus are available upon request if you can't read German. Tip: Order a specialty sauce to dip your fries in. They cost a little extra but well worth it. Options include chive sauce, parmesan sauce and spicy pepper sauce to name a few. read more

They have an awesome lunch special (available until 5) where you get a burger, fries or salad, a beverage (non-alcoholic,iced tea or BEER) & a hot beverage (I did ESPRESSO) for the burger price + 4,50€. I ordered the GEISSBOCK burger - goat cheese, fig sauce & bacon with a side salad, beer & ended with an espresso. Let me reiterate all this for 13€ & omg was this burger amazing! Great quality & bursting with flavor. After tasting the fries I immediately wish it was those I ordered but the side salad won't disappoint either. I easily give this place 5 stars for ambience/food & service. You walk into a birch tree forest with bench seating wrapped around the tees. Needless to say it's a beautiful interior but if you fancy being in the real outdoors there's plenty of patio seating. This place was always the most crowded restaurant during my Nurenberg trip. I have tried to eat at different restaurant and except Hans im Gluck, I only visited once each restaurant. An aura has called me again and I cannot refuse! Well served burgers in well-designed interior place are waiting for you. many options are avaiable for your order. Fancy Burger Shack or Rich People's Burger King? The place is set right next to a Burger King, which is either really stupid, or a genius marketing idea. It seems like the latter, as the place was crowded with people who seemed to prefer the luxurious kind of burger. Now, the place is really nice, a forest "growing" indoors, but you don't really have much space to sit and so loud you end up leaning over the table and screaming in peoples faces. The food is okay, the fries were amazing, but we were here for the burger, and that could definitely have been better. While the patty was juicy and fresh, my bun (multi-grain) was dry and burnt and the sauce was nearly non-existent. You end up tipping half a bottle of ketchup on your burger, just to stop yourself from choking. Speaking of which, the sauces (apart from the Heinz Ketchup) were apparently home made (or just rebottled) and not too bad. What I did like was the fact that you could get cheaper lunch menu, consisting of burger, fries, a drink and a coffee to combat the carb-induced sleepiness. The place was packed because it was Valentine's Day. They were offering a deal which was 2 drinks , 2 burgers and 1 dessert for 37 € for two people. I enjoyed the over all experience but my vegetarian burger was a disappointment as they usually are. The patty was fried and very unhealthy , I mean why offer something made with vegetables and then deep fry it ??? The sweet potatoes were great and so was the cheese dip. The dessert was also not good , just a warm chocolate cake with mediocre vanilla ice cream. Hans Im Gluck is located right inside the Nuremberg Alstadt, so parking can be a challenge. I've been here twice now and tried the Signature namesake burger as well as the Gargonzola burger. Had to give it a second chance, but my opinion is still the same. Simply, average food+high prices+nice ambiance = skip this place. You are paying a premium for the environs, -louder hipster buzz, cool Ansel Adams aspens, bartender going through some Tom Cruise lame Cocktail moves while making Mojitos, nice sized outdoor sidewalk seating. Too bad they didn't invest into something to make the burgers, fries or salads stand out from any other burger place. There is an extensive mojito selection, and didn't try one, so maybe they were able to do something special there. Too bad I won't be back to try and find out. read more

This place has literally the worst service of any restaurant i have ever entered. I've come here twice now and sat for over 15 minutes both times only to be completely ignored by the staff. Last time, I had a snob server literally "shush" my father when he asked for menus & water. This time, I sat for 15 minutes at the bar, made eye contact with 3 servers who walked through the area I was sitting in, and even tried talking directly to a bartender making drinks next to me, and not one of them asked I would like water or anything for that matter. I will definitely not try to eat here again, as apparently you have to get your fill of being ignored before you're allowed to eat. The prices for four people came to about $55US with drinks. Our waitress spoke perfect English so there no problems and service was quick and food was quick. Amazing Burger. Great variety. I can highly recommend Ziegenpeter which is a burger with figs and goat cheese. Really yummy. You can't find such great burger combinations that often in Germany. I really like their lunch and dinner offer which are very cheap and good. The atmosphere in Hans im Glueck is also very nice thanks to wood logs inside the restaurant. However, I think the restaurant in Nuremberg is compared to other Restaurants of the Hans im Glueck chain pretty small and a little bit narrow and most of the time very crowed (because it's the only Hans im Glueck restaurant in the area around NBG) read more

Good variety of burgers, good fries... For €5.50 more at lunch you can upgrade a burger with drink(beer, side and after meal hot drink). Service was attentive, food came out quickly and everything tasted great. Dipping sauces for fries were on point. Only caveat was when bill came, server did not offer back change, which was €5.20. It was fine as she was getting it anyway, but higher amounts withheld could be awkward. So stay frosty. read more

This is one shitty chain serving cardboard burgers, the frozen kind. I feel for the locals who would not know a good hamburger it if bite them in the ass. All they have to go by is McDonalds or Burger King. Tasteless, and I am not sure if there is actually any meat in the burger. The bread was passable and the fries decent because the Germans know how to make fries, just not hamburgers. Oh and don't even think of asking for medium or medium rare. Cooked one way the German way TO DEATH. Save your tourist dollars and walk away stick with German food or Asian. I am going back to Munich for a real hamburger at Cosmo Burgers. They rock. read more

The burgers are tasty. But the service is awful. It takes too much time to wait for a waiter at lunch time. Our drinks were forgotten to bring by a waitress. We ordered "Tages menu". In ~30 minutes after finishing our eating, the waitress came to us and asked: "Do you still need the drinks?". Unbelievable. When we walked past the restaurant for the first time at 14:00, it was completely overflowing, so I made a mental note that I MUST have supper there.
