What a fantastic place!!
Upon entering this place, you'll probably hear a loud "ALOHA!", coming from the guy behind the bar (you will soon realize that he is the owner), who's standing there with a huge smile on his face and a Hawaiian shirt covering his torso. Just hearing that greeting usually paints a smile on my face, but if that's not enough for you, give it a few more minutes - his cocktails are sure to accomplish the task!
So let's see what we can say about the place.
It's small.
As in, really tiny for a cocktail bar! I've been here on a Friday night and lord...you better reserve a table, otherwise you'll be standing in the doorway with nowhere to go!
It's off the beaten track.
When we came here last time, most of the people in my group spoke the usual "Wow, I've never been in this part of Nuremberg before!". Well, that's exactly why you missed out! There are plenty of cool bars and restaurants around here, but this is definitely my favourite! So make sure you come to this part of town more often!!
It serves the best cocktails around!
According to the menu, all you can get here are alcoholic cocktails. But this wouldn't be a proper cocktail bar, if they didn't know how to please the driving and simply non-alcoholic crowd as well. When I asked them what kind of non-alcoholic cocktails they serve, they offered me two possibilities: one, tell them whatever non-alcoholic drink I would like, and they'll make it (they seriously know their drinks here), or two, tell them whatever flavours I like and they'll mix something up for me. I went for the latter (mostly because I can never remember the names of my favourite drinks anyways) and told them to make "something tasting of coconut!". The waitress smiled and a few minutes later she brought me a cup filled with "something tasting of coconut". And what can I say, they gave me exactly what I asked for - and it tasted brilliant!
And the best part are the glasses..every beverage seems to have its own glass/cup/tiki mug/whatever...it's just bloody fantastic! And the prices are fair as well - about 7-11€ for a cocktail, which is just a tad more expensive than other places, but so much better!!
Bottom line:
* Tiny Hawaiian paradise in the middle of Nuremberg
* Best cocktails ever!!
* Tad more expensive than other cocktail places, but the quality of the drinks is just that much better!!
* Absolutely a "feel-good" place - you can't leave here without a smile on your face! read more
