Inexpensive hidden gem of a restaurant with Galician homemade meals. Has free Wifi ask for…read morepassword). Fast personal service. Has both choice menu and lunch menu meals. Lunch menus are EURO 7 to 9 with ample quantity, choices and drink, bread plus dessert. We have already eaten here twice in a week. With the normal dinner/lunch menu choice with two 3 course meals, several, 2 huge fresh orange juices, snacks, bread, drinks and coffee one may spend about EUR 30-35 with 2 persons. Foods were well spiced and juicy. We have tried schnitzels (just right thin/thickness) and cod (merluza), various fish dishes (cooked well, no raw parts), other meats. Far more tasty than in most local restaurants. They come with fresh salad and fresh cut fries (the typical local softer way of preparing). Fresh crispy bread. Delicious addictive tortilla. The owner/cook, she is an excellent original cook. Good view of garden and river. Spacious set up (restaurant area is in back, in front is more cozy bar area and small supermarket that is always open). There is ample parking just next door and it is a few minutes walking down to the ferry to/from Caminha (Portugal).

We were…read morewalking down the street and saw this restaurant which we thought looked good and decided to sit down after viewing the star ratings... well, disappointed!!! Actually very disappointed.... I missed a good meal in Galicia! Unacceptable. This place has absolutely no quality in food, not tasty and for me, I even left most of the dishes intact! The shrimp with squid garlic style is one of the simplest plates of the Spanish cuisine... how could they possibly get this wrong??? Instead of olive oil, they used butter in the casserole... simply disgusting. The piquillo peppers were ok, simply ok... I also had the grilled baby squid and these were as lame as they could be... no flavor and very bad seasoned! My wife had the beed which was also well... do not want to remember this place... then to top it off, the traditional crepes were, well, the worst ... avoid this place period!!

Our hotel, here in Guarda, referred us to this restaurant because they were open at the hours we…read morewanted dinner ( before 7:30) . We were happy to have a wonderful meal with wonderful service. It was breezy and low 70s so we decided to choose indoor seating. We loved the atmosphere, great service from a nice lady that seemed to be the only one working, besides the chefs, until halfway through our meal, then another wonderful server helped us. We had great Galician soup to start, then perfectly cooked, MED, steaks; one with white pepper sauce with mushrooms and one with white garlic sauce. We followed it with a homemade lemon cake ( texture like flan, but more dense) Over all, a great place for pilgrims on the camino to relax and have a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere...and facing the Atlantic Ocean.

We continued down to the coast where we found an area with ample parking, and after a quick walk around we decided on Os Remos. Feeling adventurous, we opted to "be surprised" by our host. We had an out-of-this-world dinner as a result. Enjoying shrimp, octopus (the most tender I've ever had!), roasted peppers, muscles, and finally both grilled and boiled lobster, we even opted for their handmade desserts. Absolutely delicious & would highly recommend!

We split a salad and a grilled fish dish. The fish was over cooked but the flavor was OK. Salad was a little lettuce and a full can of tuna, nothing special. Three stars as this visit was quite expensive for the quality and presentation. There are better options in town. In the past the restaurant offered a much better experience and better-quality plate, now it seems the location is what you pay for. I'll try again later this year to see if get better maybe it's just a high tourist season thing.
