Arrived a little before 7 PM just when things were starting to get busy. The wait staff were very kind and was able to speak some English. The vibe is like a small local pizza hoping you'd find in Brooklyn. Unassuming and clean. A small variety of bottles and tap beer, wine and beverages.
Had the house special seafood pasta and pepperoni pizza mini.
The house special seafood pasta was not very good. The sauce was relatively tasteless and the seafood was poorly prepared (shrimp was a bad example of frozen seafood). There were some other tables that had ordered it, so it could just be an off night for the kitchen.
The mini pepperoni pizza was a bit larger than a dinner plate and freshly made. Unfortunately there was no flavor in the crust and barely any sauce. Overall not very flavorful and not worth ordering. There were a couple other tables that had pizzas ordered so possibly like the pasta, an off night for the kitchen.
One note - almost every every person in the restaurant besides the couple of pasta and pizzas ordered the francesinha. It appears to be the real winner here. If you're hungry and nearby, I would recommend to try that dish and forgot any thought of Italian fresh cuisine.
Should have remembered the golden rule - check what the locals order first. The food experience should have made this a one or two star review, but the nice wait staff and the overwhelming orders of the francisenha these people were enjoying should give this joint a second chance. read more
