I have never actually been to this patisserie. What am I doing here?…read moreI am here telling you about the AMAZING quality of their baked goods *cue mouthwatering* I am spoilt. So when friends come visit, they know what to bring. What to bring = Good baked goods. The cakes, macarons, pies, tarts, EVERYTHING at Patisserie New York is even better than that. I promise. Look at my photos, it should give a hint! Their chocolate mud cake. I know, boring choice in the face of rhubarb crumbles in all sizes, and miniature fruit tarts bursting with the rainbow! But it is the best chocolate mud cake that I have ever eaten! Soft, and moist, and so fresh! I feel like the chocolate god would be proud! My other favourite from their bakery is their red velvet cupcake. People know I hate cupcakes from stores because besides the frosting, they never have much going for them. The red velvet cupcake here feels like you are drowning in soft, velvety goodness. It is tasty, and just sweet enough to compliment the strong frosting! I would keep writing but there is too much to say! So save me the trouble, do yourself a favour, and please, go visit the incredible bakery!

Located in the Sutherland Shire's suburb of Caringbah, Patisserie New York sells some of the best pastries Sydney has to offer, in particular their cakes. Among my personal favourites; the Belgian White Chocolate Mud, a white chocolate sponge layered with white chocolate ganache and topped with hand shaven chocolate curls - all of course made with fine Belgian chocolate. For the impeccable quality and exquisite taste, the $40 used for this baby is money I like to call well-spent. But if amazing white chocolate mud cake isn't your thing, another favourite - the double baked blueberry cheesecake just might be. And if you're still not satisfied, the patisserie offers a wide variety of cakes and desserts suitable for any occasion including tarts, slices, macarons, cupcakes, muffins, sweet breads and more to suit anyone's sugar fix needs.

I've been here 2 times and both times I found the service was good, even on my second visit when I asked for the caramel tart which my daughter chose, the waiter, knowing the tart was for my daughter gave extra chocolates on top which I thought was a nice gesture. So why I gave them 3 stars you asked? Their coffees were decent, not bad but I had better coffees. The hot chocolates I ordered for my 2 kids I asked for warm chocolates instead what I got were cold, and they were too milky. Probably the result of pouring too much cold milk and not enough chocolate. The Crab and Chilli Linguini was ordinary. I would like it to have more crab and I can't even taste the chilli in it, if you're going to put Chilli in the title you have to make it predominant in the dish. The 12hr Braised Lamb Roll was not too bad but it didn't wow me either. I had Lamb Rolls that are tastier than this. And it wasn't as tender as I was expected. The Wagyu Beef Burger was pretty average. But strangely I find myself keep coming back to this place.

It was a Thursday at about 1pm when we sat down to grab something to eat. We were immediately drawn to the place by its rustic decor, lively atmosphere & interesting menu. It seems to be a modern type of cafe coupled with a bakery, as you can buy their bread, cakes & pastries at the counter. Luckily, there was plenty of seating inside the cafe & just outside around their spot. Bear in mind also, that you must order and pay at the counter, so don't sit their twiddling your thumbs like we were before finding that one out! The menu is quite different, with relatively fancy dishes available that I didn't expect from a bakery/cafe. We decided to share between us, the bruschetta, the muesli & the "Sourdough Bakery" platter for 2, with a couple of coffees. Unfortunately the platter was unavailable so we decided to get the Sicilian Olives instead. The coffees were out almost instantly with all the parts of the food out to us within 15 minutes of ordering. The staff were very helpful & cheerful and truly trying the best to make sure we were comfortable & well serviced. The coffee was decent, not spectacular but did the trick & the food was very well presented & tasty as well. The Sicilian Olives were made beautifully, just make sure you let them cool down before scoffing your face like I did, I nearly burnt my tongue off. The bruschetta was well presented & very tasty and the muesli was generously portioned & delicious as well. I would definitely recommend heading to this little cafe if you are in Miranda, the pricing was very affordable, with the meal costing just over $30 for 2. The service was great, the food was tasty & the process was timely overall. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars here was because I really had my heart set on the Sourdough Bakery Platter & there are a few other places in miranda that do exceptional coffee. Putting those to the side, this cafe is definitely up there in terms of quality, price & service - None-the-less, a big thanks to the staff there at Sourdough Bakery!

This is an ordinary bakery by most people's standards, but a lack of healthy lunch options and the queues of people out the door piqued my interest. The reason for the queue was cheap Vietnamese pork rolls. A standard option in places like Marrickville and Campsie, this Vietnamese Bakery in Cronulla is doing a roaring trade in the simple sandwich. The price and portion size are the two outstanding factors, just $5 for a pork and salad roll or chicken and salad roll. The pork is an acquired taste, with three types of processed pork meat, salad including shallot and coriander, and sauce including liver paste and sweet chilli sauce. It is quite tasty, but you need to be prepared for it! The chicken salad roll is for the faint hearted, and there is nothing better than fresh ingredients on a fresh bread roll. The final recommendation comes from the local cops lining up to get lunch. Wherever the cops are eating, you can be sure that the food is good.

I understand that margins need to be made given the potential high rent due to location.. but maaaaaan $5 or $6 min. for yeast, some salad and slices of meat... Come on. But I guess these are the times. I remember when bread rolls like these only costed $2. and they were known as the $2 Vietnamese rolls. Anyway I digress... the roll could b more crunchy.. everything else was good.
