What I appreciated most was how fast and smooth the whole process was -- literally one message to Mark and he handled the rest. Great communication, no back-and-forth, no waiting, just results. It's exactly the kind of reliability that's hard to find these days. This second experience just confirms what I already knew: Mark doesn't just set the bar high, he maintains it. California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara initiated legal action against State Farm in May 2026, accusing the insurer of systemic mishandling of claims following the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. The state seeks to suspend State Farm's license for up to a year and levy millions in penalties. Investigation Findings & Legal Action The Allegations: State Farm allegedly delayed, underpaid, and buried policyholders in red tape. The company handled approximately one-third of all residential claims following the Palisades and Eaton fires. The Violations: An expedited investigation of a sample of 220 claims found 398 violations of the California Insurance Code in more than half of the reviewed cases. The Penalties: The Department of Insurance filed an Accusation and Order to Show Cause, the first step toward an administrative hearing, seeking to suspend State Farm's certificate of authority to issue new policies for up to a year. State Farm's Response: State Farm acknowledged certain errors but characterized them as "unintentional oversights" and "file-specific errors" by claims handlers, and stated it had completed a training to correct the issues. P.S. I am sorry that Mark chose to imply that I would ever INITIATE contact him when he was in the hospital waiting for his son's surgery. It was Mark who responded during that time to my earlier emails - and only THEN did I know he was in the hospital. That kind of misleading accusation about a customer is not appropriate for a professional. I clearly added that I would wait for the results of the lawsuit, but felt it important to mention because my previous review was for HIS GOOD HANDLING OF ME AS A SALESMAN FOR A NEW CUSTOMER, since I had not actually dealt with State Farm before.

Never get your car insured here. The only reason I'm insured here is because my parents have been a…read moreclient with them for a long time. I've only been in this office on three separate occasions and all three times, the agent has pissed me off. The customer service here is terrible. Especially service from the older woman that works here. My parents called in telling them that I will come in first to have pictures taken of my new car (this is because I was going here in between classes and a meeting) and then they will come in after to sign the paperwork. When I came into the office at 3PM, I specifically told them again that I need to leave soon because I have a meeting to attend and that my parents will come later. Not only did the girl who greeted me not seem like she knew what she was doing, she had me sit down and didn't tell me anything. I sat there for another 20 minutes before I said, "do you know how much longer it's going to be before you take pictures of my car so I can leave?" The older woman snaps at me and says, "we're not going to take a picture of your car until your parents come [plus some other mumbo jumbo]. So I responded by saying, "well, I would've appreciated that had you told us earlier instead of having me waste my time sitting here waiting when I have other things to attend to." Granted, what she said had some validity to it but her attitude was completely unacceptable. I'm a customer, not your child.
