As of yesterday July 27, 2015, I had Comcast send a contractor from OCC to do an install. He was ten minutes late, but called to inform me. Nice guy, but rushed by his Supervisor Gene, who kept calling him for other installs. Well, apparently someone who resided here prior to me didn't pay their bill. I mentioned to Jeff, the contractor that I have documentation to prove my (New tenancy), that needed to be submitted to Comcast. He declined it and did the install anyway. He said it wasn't needed, and once the install is done, it can't be turned off; he was incorrect. Today, July 28,2015, I have no Internet or cable. I called Comcast to get this rectified. They stated they needed proof which I submitted via Fax, to Deon, a representative in a billing department. She works for Comcast and stated she would have to "decide", if I can keep my account or not. I mentioned that when Comcast came to collect the money owed from the prior tenant, I told the tech take the equipment and I am new to the area. She ( Deon) apparently decided further inspection of my documents were needed and of course; No Cable as of yet!!! What a inconvenience and pain.Not to mention, bad business on Comcast part. She stated my area was HIGH RISK. WTF?? I wonder if they state that for Granite Bay or Roseville. ( Discrimination)!!! They are the ones are unworthy of MY BUSINESS. read more

Company was sent out by Comcast to repair a broken conduit. They asked to use the hose in front of my house. They pulled on it so hard it cracked the pvc pipe to my sprinkler system. Then, rather than say anything, they drove away! I found water shooting out 12 feet and my planter flooded. I called and left messages and it was 16 hours before I got a return call. By then I had filed a complaint with Comcast, and had two plumbers come out to try to fix their careless mistake. This company is worthless and the crew are clueless!!! I've worked for a lot of cable companies but this one is definitely new to the game. The theory goes as such: the entire industry rides on the shoulders of the Installer. If your installer isn't making money then the company isn't making money and the supervisors become useless without productive techs. When you give the techs pay cuts they have to do more jobs to make the same money they used to. If they have more jobs then they run late on time frame and make less money. Customers aren't happy when you're late and techs aren't happy with less money. For every dollar a tech makes the company makes 3. There should never be a reason to pay your workers less if your entire business relies on the workers doing work. Less workers equals less money for the company and therefore less money for supervisors. If your supervisors have to manage 80 techs or more than. They are being overworked and won't give the techs the proper service they need to do their jobs and the tech and the company make less money. No one wearing a Comcast badge should ever make minimum wage and expect to do their job with enthusiasm. read more

Oh, where to begin... Four days ago, my Comcast installation appointment came and went. I called Comcast after the two-hour window had elapsed and was told that someone would be on the way shortly. A half-hour later i got a call from the tech saying he was "on the way." An hour later i called the tech back and asked how long "on the way" would take. he told me he was five miles away. An hour and a half late, the tech arrived and then the real fun began. Incompetence and misinformation are the two words that come to mind while I lived this experience, but rage is the one that comes to mind when I recall it. The next morning I put our dog out back before I left for a couple of hours to run some errands. When I returned, our eight-month old dog was running around the front yard - thankfully not dead in the street and not in the pound. Our tech accessed the backyard by a side gate that is never used and failed to close it when he left. I did not know he used that gate, let alone that he left it open. All that and hours of my time and I still have a box that is not working and charges for work that was shoddy, and not explained anywhere along the way. Turns out "standard" installation charges are $33 for cable, $33 for internet and $33 for the phone (a phone I installed myself). All those charges and others have now been waived (after HOURS on the phone with Comcast) but my third box is STILL not working. Resolved? Ha! Not even close. Today, between noon and 2:00, a Comcast tech was coming to my home to fix the remaining issues. After my experience with O.C. Communications, they are no longer welcome on my property and that is exactly what I told them. At about 10:00 this morning, I received a call from the "tech supervisor" who apologized for the issues I've been having and offered to come out to my house and take care of the problem himself. Imagine my surprise that Comcast would reach out personally to take care of a customer. He asked that I go ahead and cancel my scheduled appointment so that he could do the work. Now re-imagine my surprise when an OCC truck pulled up to my house. OCC had intercepted my Comcast appointment to try to clean-up (and bill Comcast) for their fuck-up. I was and still am livid. This prick didn't specifically say he was a Comcast employee, but he knew I was under the impression he was. I even told him the Reader's Digest version of the story, including my no contractor stipulation. Now, after another hour-plus on the phone with Comcast, I have one of their techs coming out between 4:00 and 6:00. That motherfucker cost me another four hours. If Comcast was not the only high-speed Internet show in town, I would definitely not be doing business with them. As for OCC - they can eat a dick. read more

Was apprehensive when I saw the OCC truck pull up when I contacted Xfinity for tech support. However the tech, Sammer, was polite and was able to get everything resolved and working properly. He was also helpful in setting up the features which goes beyond just installing the service. read more

Until today I would have given OCC a 1-star review but after 4 attempts we finally got a tech at our home who did the job he was sent to do. - Our first tech did not show up - The second tech showed up late and then walked out on the job when he realized how long it would take - Our third tech likewise left stating that the job was too difficult for him to do. *Note: the job consisted of running a cable from the back of our condo along the length of the building in order to reach a front-facing unit... not a difficult job just time consuming* Finally, our fourth technician MORAD arrived with his assistant and did the job he was sent for. It took two and a half hours to complete as anticipated. My favorite part of his performance wasn't just that we finally had cable and internet after 2 months of back and forth appointments but when I thanked him for his hard work he said "I do my job." I know Comcast subcontracts the work to this company and you can't pick and choose who gets sent to the house but I would say (1) beware because most of the techs appear to be unreliable or dismissive (2) request MORAD if you can (3) OCC needs to commend MORAD for being a hard working employee and other technicians should learn from the example he sets. read more

Had O.C. Commnunications come to my Home to install A Simple Cable T.V. Box addition, with the end result of coming home to find My TV antennae wire, chopped in half and the other wire coming out of my bedroom outer wall chopped as well, (and just left there hanging) My external wiring room had a coupling that was "just hanging outside the door, with one cable hooked into the coupling coming from outside the door while the other cable hooked to it, came around the external wall where I couldn''t even close the door without having to cut the cable in half..WOW, simply poking the wire thru the wall of the wiring room, to hook into the coupling would have worked so you could close the door!! Comcast Came out the next day to repair the vandalism and damage. Do NOT allow a third party into your home to do the "dirty work" for Comcast. Make sure it is An "authorized comcast employee, that is held to be responsible for his work...One star is too many for this, but had to activate the review box to post... read more

I had 2 employees of the Yuba City branch of OC Communications installing my Comcast X1 in my new home. When I saw the truck in my driveway, I was concerned because I have had some nightmare installs! But, both guys were on time and very polite. They came in and verified exactly what I needed done, they walked through the 4 rooms and listened to me as I asked that the existing outlets be used. Our home had previously had Dish Network before we moved in. The installers said it would not be a problem....seriously? Did I actually hear that correctly? So, the 2 guys worked quickly and installed my X1, my Internet, and my phone in just over 2 hours. They even programmed all of my remotes to work on the corresponding TV's. The guys left no mess whatsoever and even gave me their supervisor phone number and said that if there were any issues within the next 30 days to give them a call directly and they will fix it. I am so impressed. This company did great work. The install was the best that I have ever dealt with! I will ask for OC Communications in the future rather than using a Comcast corporate installer. read more

These folks are subcontractors for Comcast and I really like how they took the time to explain everything to me after they set up the Xfinity triple play. I made the biggest mistake when I switched from Comcast to Astound. Now I'm switching back and I'm really happy to be home with Comcast. Wow - horrible. The technician arrived an hour late for a Comcast install in Oakland. Mind you, this wasn't in the middle of the day where delays can pile up - this was the first appointment, 7:30am-8:00am. No call and no apology when he showed up. He said traffic was bad because of the rain, so I'm guessing the rain interfered with his cell signal too? If you get service from Comcast - don't ever let them use "OCC" to do you work. While servicing another customer in my apartment building, a tech from this company disconnected my internet/phone line. (I knew it was them because it was 8 am on a Sunday, their truck was outside my building, they had been in the "closet" where communication wiring for the building is kept, and my carrier, ATT, noted it was a physical disconnection.) Because I could not locate the technician, though the truck was still here, I called the number on the side of the truck. The person answering said they would contact the technician and have the situation corrected. I also left a note under the windshield wiper of the truck, noting the problem and my apartment number. The next time I looked, the truck was gone. No one from O.C Communications was heard from again. My ATT line was not connected again for several hours, when their technician could get here. Sabotage? Probably not. Just shoddy ethics, carelessness, and a disregard for the public generally. Certainly this is not a company in which to put trust. read more

I was not even having work done. The work was being done on my neighbors house. The tech was rude, short with answers to my questions. dug up my front yard, left wires sticking out of the dirt, and installed this little manhole type thing in my yard rather than 3 feet to the side and in the yard where the line was being installed. No notification that any work was being done on my property. No consent was given, no work order was filed on my behalf. They just came in, dug up my yard, and left when I questioned what he was doing digging up my property. read more

This is the worst company in America. A technician named Andrew came to our home from this company to install 3 outlets. He asked if I had any pets. I explained to him that I had a dog that I did not want to get out because I didn't want him to get into the swimming pool. I told him to make sure that the doors remained closed. He went into my bedroom and opened the locked back door and let the dog out. The dog, which is blind, fell into the pool and nearly drowned. I got him out of the water in the nick of time. I took him to the vet and the bills for the hospitalization totaled $8,000. I was assured by Gene, Andrew's supervisor, that Comcast would pay for the vet bills. 3 days later I spoke with Gene again and told him that my dog was still in the vet hospital fighting for his life, and that I wanted to know that they would pay the bill. He again said, "comcast will pay the vet bill". The next day I got a call from Eric Miller, who started yelling at me saying that I should not have trusted that the technician would do what I asked him to do, and that it was my fault that the dog got out. NEVER LET THESE PEOPLE INTO YOUR HOME! BTW, the technician drilled holes into my hardwood floors, and threw the cable on the floor. He left cables hanging from the wall and was totally sloppy! Eric Miller didn't give me any information about where to send the vet bills or who else I should talk to. He simply said "Gene didn't have the authority to authorize payment" for the vet bill. After some research. I found out that this company is a subcontractor for Comcast. I pray they lose their contract. They have absolutely no respect for you or your property and do horrible work! read more

They didnt knock at my door we had an appt between 2-4 pm they called i didnt hear my phone because we were MOVING duh and they left...... now we dont have cable or internet for four days I told the guy stupud guy phil who has a problem speaking that we run a business and will be losing money and you cant just call and not knock and leave. The people that work for this company are lazy. I cannot believe that Comcast subcontracts to them. We have had 5 appointments rescheduled to blow a conduit line so we can get TV and Internet. We have been waiting a mint for service and Comcast days they are waiting for their 3rd party to do the work. Every time a technician from here comes out they say they discover they cannot do the job because the conduit needs to be blown, DUH!!! The 4 guys before you said the same thing. Quit being lazy and just do your job. If you have guys that don't want to do parts of the job then either fire them or don't send them to my house. My last appt was the 22nd and I was supposed to get installed today but again your company rescheduled me on the 22nd to the 28th so we wait AGAIN!!!! And they don't even tell you they rescheduled, we only find out because we have to call Comcast and wait on the phone 45 minutes each time to find out. Wish I had another option but Comcast is the only provider in my area. I just want Internet. I have also contacted 7 on your side, hopefully they will take my case and expose Comcast and O.C. Had them come out to do a job for Comcast. Comcast screwed up so they told us our install would be done for free. 7 visits later it was done but we were charged for the visit. Need to communicate and not tell customers things they do not have the power to control. read more
