Foods were well spiced and juicy. We have tried schnitzels (just right thin/thickness) and cod (merluza), various fish dishes (cooked well, no raw parts), other meats. It's charm oozes from every corner. The renovation missed no opportunity. We were greeted by a gentleman who assisted with our luggage upon arrival. He quickly greeted us by name and checked us in. The mini bar was included and we were able to make a drink modification at no extra charge. The shower was warm and perfect, only complaint was having to step up and in. The bathroom was large and comfortable. The grounds are fantastic. The property is flanked by a stream. It's green for as far as the eye can see. And we had the room across from the waterfall. The cafe and formal dining room were excellent. I highly recommend a Norde Gin and tonic and slice of the almond cake. Our server was so lovely in the cafe, sneaking us a taste of some locally made ice cream. The rates were commensurate with the charm and grandiose nature of the property. This room was only missing some electronics outlets as now a-days we have so much of! The property is beautiful sitting at a riverside where you can listen to the water flowing.... temp was spectacular end October.... They could use a little more staff though, I did see a tray of a room service left on the floor outside a room and was not picked up 12 hours later.... (won't take a star off as this is a detail I am sure won't happen again).
