Set back on a dead end road at the edge of town, you feel transported to an English countryside…read moreestate. The property was transformed from a paper mill to a lovely hotel. It's charm oozes from every corner. The renovation missed no opportunity. We were greeted by a gentleman who assisted with our luggage upon arrival. He quickly greeted us by name and checked us in. We were then whisked away to our double bed, deluxe room. The stone walls and wooden shutters were simply divine. (And kept the room dark during the night.) The mini bar was included and we were able to make a drink modification at no extra charge. The shower was warm and perfect, only complaint was having to step up and in. The bathroom was large and comfortable. The grounds are fantastic. The property is flanked by a stream. It's green for as far as the eye can see. And we had the room across from the waterfall. The cafe and formal dining room were excellent. I highly recommend a Norde Gin and tonic and slice of the almond cake. Our server was so lovely in the cafe, sneaking us a taste of some locally made ice cream. The rates were commensurate with the charm and grandiose nature of the property. One night in front of the fireplace on a cold night and you'll want to stay forever.

I have to say that this place will be our home away from home when we come to Galicia! It is…read moreincredibly well located just minutes driving into city center (Santiago) and 1 hour away from most all Galicia! Beware with waze that they have the wrong address once you enter the neighborhood... continue straight and at the end of the street you will find this beautiful cozy boutique Relais Chateaux. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted and taken great care of.... our room was ready and in great shape... this hotel sits on an old paper mill that was converted into a Hotel several years ago and you can still see the remains of the mill.... the walls of our room were of stone! The room was cozy and had a great bed... nice duvet and good pillows. The bath robe was also good... could have beed a little more spacious, but enough for us that were all day out visiting the area... the suite was awesome, if we decide to stay for a week or so, this will be a great place to stay.... This room was only missing some electronics outlets as now a-days we have so much of! The property is beautiful sitting at a riverside where you can listen to the water flowing.... temp was spectacular end October.... They could use a little more staff though, I did see a tray of a room service left on the floor outside a room and was not picked up 12 hours later.... (won't take a star off as this is a detail I am sure won't happen again). They have a living room area that is stunning.... cosy and warm to stay and have a night cap, read a book or just hang our and feel at home. Decoration at this hotel is TOP NOTCH! Congrats..... Breakfast is VERY good... service was also high standard.... we did not go to the spa as we only stayed there 3 nights, but when we come back, we will hopefully stay more days and enjoy the full benefits of this beautiful home away from home! Enjoy
