I've been a member since childhood. I have had several flash cash loans with obee, always paid off early. I have to fix my car and needed some extra cash. Spoke with several people who said I'd be able to reapply after 24 hours of paying off. I applied again today, and was immediately denied, stating maximum number of loans reached. Nowhere on their website or anyone I spoke to said you are only allowed a certain number in a timeframe. So instead of having some extra cash, I'm $1600 in the hole. Obee Credit Union is great. Excellent service and will take the time to do whatever is needed when asked. I have a Pabst Blue Ribbon Credit Card that looks great, and the approval process was fast and easy. I have had the card for over 3 or 4 years now. The interest rate is better than any other card I have ever obtained anywhere. It sounds like I work for them, but I don't. I am a loyal customer that appreciates good service and an excellent CC rate. We have a home in Florida and Washington. read more

I have used OBEE Credit Union for several years and have had nothing but great service. I don't live local but OBEE is my CU of choice after using many over the years including Gesa, Hapo and Numerica. I would rather use a non local Credit Union for all my financial needs than a Credit Union that has a bank mentality such as the others have developed over the years. "They are people helping people. That's what O Bee stands for!" They should really Rethink this mission statement. I got approved for a car loan purchased my car through a dealership and before the first payment was due the car started falling apart. After multiple attempts to contact dealer I never got a call back to rectify the situation. I returned the car to the dealer after two weeks. Like I said before I was required to make the first payment. Covid happened and I was in full communication with Obee in which I was able to pay what I could. Then I lost both my jobs and become homeless but was still paying what I could. I had to turn to a debt relief program where I would still be paying my debt but In payments that I could afford. If what they say in their mission statement had any truth to it then I would think that they would work with people who were trying their best to pay their bills. It wasn't like I drove the car for months then decided "meh I don't want this anymore" it wasn't like I am not willing to pay my bill. According to my debt relief program they are super aggressive going after me with court summons, not caring if I'm homeless again, not willing to do payment plans to help "people" not be homeless again. So much for their mission statement. They are liars. Don't do business with them. read more

I opened a checking account at Obee at the Tumwater branch in Washington. Leonor Arriaga, branch manager, promised to "call" the credit union that I had a cashier's check from so that my funds could be made available in a day or two. Instead my funds were not made available for 10 business days. She did not return my two voice mails to her. I would not recommend this branch to anyone. read more

I have had so many stupid things happen with this bank and now after what I went through today I will be leaving them. I needed a tow for my car it was an emergency and when I went to pay ( mind you I had way over the amount for the tow fee $155) it was declined multiple times even after card services contacted fraud services saying I shouldn't have a problem but still was declining saying it was a fraudulent charge i went through this for two hours with still declining. I ultimately had to have my cousin pay for it and cash app her. This was such a a huge inconvenience and thank God the tow company knew it wasn't my fault and didn't charge me $100 fee and didn't continue the hourly rate for the tow cause I would have been out $500. So just know you can buy from scam sites and no problem but if you need a tow and it says genes towing on the bill it's considered fraudulent to them when in fact tows are most commonly used for emergencies. read more

I am a current Obee Credit Union member and I love them. I have only gotten positive responses from their staff and they helped me to get out of a lot of debt. I literally saved thousands of dollars with a balance transfer. I have an auto loan, a credit card and a savings account with them. This is my second auto loan with them and even though I was upside down in my other loan because my car was almost worthless they gave me a low interest rate and worked with me to get me in a vehicle when I was going through a horrible part of my life. Thanks to Obee I am getting really close to being out of debt, and I am really grateful. I have some family members I am trying to encourage to apply for a balance transfer with them to help them get out of debt. I love Obee!! read more

Avoid like the plague. Cosigned with my girlfriend on her new car, they increased the payment due without telling us and since it was on autopay we missed a payment. They called to tell her it was increasing but it had already increased and we had already missed the payment..... They said the insurance company never gave them proof of insurance, we provided it to them and the payments went back to what they were supposed to be and they said they would take this off our credit and our score would go back to what it was in a month or two. It never got removed from our credit report and the folks at OBEE kept telling us it would be and we have email proof of them saying this. It has been over a year and nothing has happened after many phone calls and emails! We even worked with a company that said they could call them and if OBEE said it shouldn't be on the report then they could get if off but got this response from them in March of 2017 ""As for the credit reporting, we have done all that we can on our end and the late payment should be fixed. Unfortunately we do not provide calls that can change your score." Here are some of the emails we got from them saying it would be taken care of back in September of 2016. "It might take a while to show up online that the payments have been lowed but, I can assure you everything has been fixed. The next due date is 9/29/16 with your regular payment of $704.62. As for your credit, since the payments were more you did see a ding because you hit 36 days past due. We did update that as well and you should be seeing that ding go away within the next month, since credit score are reported monthly. You credit will go back to being what is was and will not show the late payment. And if by the end of next month it still shows just let us know and we will look into it once more, but as for now, everything seems to be squared away." OMG. I just talked to the most inept staff member ever. I have a loan with this CU. All I needed to know is if I could set up my loan payment with an ACH transfer from another bank and where on their website to do it. Simple. But not for her. She started reading the manual to me, going off in a complete different direction. Put me on hold 4 times. Still couldn't comprehend what I needed. Worst company for an auto loan, highly recommend another company. They do NOT take payments by phone, and can't take payments online without a HUGE fee or a checking account with them. Been with the credit union for nearly 4 years never been late on a payment for our car loan called tried to get a new car loan you would think loyalty to the company would matter. Not. Quick, efficient service for a non-member. My credit union (located in Seattle) uses them as a shared branch for its members. I had to make a quick payment and they had me in and out fairly quick and pain free. I'll be back if I need to do any other banking for my credit union. read more

Obee credit union is terrible for military personel. They own my loan for my vehicle. I asked for the doccuments that I needed from them to ship my vehicle overseas due to a pcs to europe. I can not express my frustration in words with them. Even though no where in my contract or financial documents does it say that I would not be allowed to ship my vehicle overseas I have been told by the CLO "Dave" of OBee that I will be unable to ship my var over seas for my pcs move. The reason they provided is that they have lost countless vehicles. Obviously this is not true. Everyone knows that if a soldier stops paying on a vehicle it is fairly easy for a lean holder to recoup their money. The governmnet will just with hold that money from the soldier ontop of that soldier possibly receiving an article 15. That said, even with orders they were unwilling to budge. So I have been forced to payoff the vehicle in full, pay for my own express title because the bank doesnt have it oddly enough (every car loan ive had...many...the bank had the title in hand). I was told 8 weeks to get the physical title by standard methods and thus an $80+ tax cost out of my pocket to cover their ass so I can ship my vehicle on time. If you are military do not use them. Ive litterly had the vehicle 3 months and asked if it was ok to ship the vehicle overseas when i purchased the vehicle and I was ok then...but not now. Terrible experience. They get their money, I get to clean up the mess. Thanks OBEE, this veteran will make sure everyone knows how bad you suck. read more

I have never had such issues with any bank/credit union in my life. They will hold your money if you leave the state so you are left without any money at all, without even notifying you, they wait like 3 days to get money from the merchant you buy from and if they don't get the money they put it back into your account so you think you have money available. You then use the money available in your account and then two weeks later you all the sudden get all the money taken out of your account causing you to be overdrawn. When you go into the credit union to tell them about it they will offer you a transaction book so that YOU can keep track even though the point of a checking account/debit card is so that they keep track of the funds for you....isn't that what they are paid for???? Don't even bother using their overdraft protection they offer for you to use as a bonus to your account where you can withdrawal up to $1,000 even if you don't have money in your account because when you actually use it then they cut it off and claim you're abusing it. Every time you do use it they charge an overdraft fee which means they are making money off of you so there should be no issue right??? I called them to ask them about turning back on the overdraft protection for emergencies, as I am a single mom working hard to keep food on the table and I am by no means perfect, so having that option was great made me feel like I didn't have to worry, the representative read the notes and the notes stated " turned off overdraft protection due to customer abusing it", by the way I used it 3 times because I accidentally took out the wrong amount and had to do it twice and the other was for a family emergency. The next part of the note stated" this is not a payday loan service" which was not only highly unprofessional, but unnecessary. Don't offer a service that you don't want customers to use and then put a spiteful note in my account making it seem personal. O'bee "claims" to be there for you as a family, but wants to make inappropriate comments when you leave.I DO NOT feel valued by the supervisor that wrote the notes at the Lacey branch. read more

Do not ever loan with this company. They will lie to your face then turn around and throw you under the bus without so much as an apology. Saying you must have heard wrong, or "misunderstood" like you're not intelligent enough to understand. I will admit to start I was at fault, due to COVID I could not make my payments and my car was towed. I paid over $2,000 to get said car back, and was told not only would all of that money get credited to my account, but that I would not owe a payment until two months later and it would only be a partial payment. The man went as far to even say, that must be nice not having to worry about the payment for a while! When I went to pay my partial payment those two months later, I was told I owed another $1400 because I was supposedly late and in danger of being towed again. I said not only do two months worth of payments not add up to $1400, but one of your employees told me I didn't owe until today. They transferred me to someone who basically told me I was either lying or "didn't actually hear what was said". To which I responded why the comment about it being nice to not have to worry about the payment? He basically dismissed me, and told me I owed the full previous month payment by the end of the month. But because of the "misunderstanding" he would see if I could skip the current months payment and then be current. He did not care that I could not budget that with my paychecks. Not only that but the next day he said that his manager said I had 5 days to pay both months payments, $720 and I only had $110 that I budgeted for because that was what I was told I owed. Oh and it gets better. We had to borrow money from a family member, who offered to just pay it off for us, $4,300 total. We pay them the money, they tell us the title will be here by the 6th. I then get an email stating I need to authorize the payment. That's fine, however they wanted my bank account information again along with a payment amount and date. They wanted more money with no explanation of why or for what. If that wasn't bad enough this email was sent at 3am my time, 1 am Pacific time where the bank is located. I honestly think they tried to scam me out of a second payment, and with me signing it I wouldn't have been able to fight it in court. Do not use this bank. Unless you want them to take all your money, call you a liar, then demand more money with no regard for your circumstance. read more

Obee Credit Union has an incredibly simple way to manage new loans and they get things done fast. I love being with a Credit Union in general but this one in particular has handled close to a dozen loans for me over the course of time as well as a refinance and in all those transactions, nothing out of the ordinary derailed any of it. While some people who do not read their mail might have posted here to gripe about their own lack of attention and the consequences of them, I personally have loved it. I also use them for Shared banking, and have only ever had one little hiccup and that was recent, which they bent over backwards to help me fix. I know of no relationship with no bumps over time, but comparing this to any other institution I do business with currently (4 different banks), total win. read more
