I recently visited Restaurante Alambique and, unfortunately, the experience did not match the expectations set by its appearance or pricing.
On arrival, the restaurant made a strong first impression -- a beautiful setting with a striking waterfall feature that immediately suggested a high-end dining experience. However, the service quickly let things down.
We ordered drinks and were left waiting for an extended period before they eventually arrived, alongside the couvert. It felt as though our table had been forgotten. When ordering from the menu, the same lack of attention continued.
Drink orders were incorrect on multiple occasions, and while this may seem minor, it became frustrating -- especially when paying €90 for a bottle of wine and having to pour it ourselves from the ice bucket throughout the evening.
For the price point, there are several other high-end restaurants in the area offering far better food and overall service. Perhaps this was an off day, but the kitchen and front-of-house team did not appear to be working cohesively. The host/maître d' seemed more focused on being seen than managing the service effectively.
Dessert (apple pie) was forgotten entirely, and we had to remind staff three times just to receive the bill. By the end of the evening, it felt like we were simply overlooked rather than valued guests.
The highlight of the night, surprisingly, was the cat that visited our table -- it provided more attention than the staff did.
A disappointing experience overall. With so many excellent alternatives nearby, I would not return.
