Beautiful study spot.

Holy moly. This is a little gem of a library on the Westside. This library is pristine. The workers are quick to greet you as you walk in. The bathrooms are sparking clean. Everything feels brand new but not sterile... it's warm and inviting and has all the awesome resources of a public library. Free WiFi... nice AC to beat the west side hear and super quiet so I can get my study on. My fave part... the view. I chose a table by the windows and can see the ocean right across the street. Legit can't beat this spot and will def bring my kids back here when we're visiting the in-laws on this side.

This is the only library that rents out ukuleles.

"I don't have to look far to find treasures. I discover them every day I visit the library." -Michael Embrey This holds true every time I visit this particular library. Besides the books that will transport you to a new land; there are several reasons why I travel to this library. 1. The BUILDING that holds all of the treasures. High ceilings and big windows welcome natural light in. The VIEWS...on one side, you can see the mountains and the other you have the view of the ocean. This is the only library that has signs in English and Hawaiian. 2. The gift of MUSIC. The Nanakuli library is one out of 2 libraries in the whole state that currently lends out ukuleles. I decided to take a look at it and waivered letting my middle son trying it out. It's also the only library that has a recording studio. 3. Launchpads It's preloaded tablets with stories, games, videos and more. There are tablets geared specifically to children, teens, and adults. This is a great way to monitor what your child is doing on the tablet. There are only 2 libraries in the whole state that offers this. It's free to borrow. 4. The Librarians and staff Every staff member of the Nanakuli Library I have encountered embodies the aloha sprit and a true genuine attitude to share the gift of knowledge. 5. Parking A good amount of FREE parking. There are a few libraries in Hawaii that you have to pay for parking. Overall, this is currently my favorite library on the island. Once you step foot inside I'm sure it will be one of your top favorites too.

This is a beautiful public space. The entrance is inviting and there's lots of parking. It made Kaneohe, Kailua Liliha and Kaimuki branch libraries look downright shabby in comparison. It has lots of natural light, beautiful artwork on pedestals and the staff all seem cheerful in the 3 times I've gone in. There are different reading sections and some public meeting spaces. The main entrance has a huge open space that could be used to host large groups. It's a place if I lived in Nanakuli, I'd prefer to sit and hang out in compared to Starbucks. They are trying to build up a collection of Oceania books, so ask for Hawaiian, Chuukese, Samoan, etc and be surprised with a new book to discover. You can also rent movies and online library service is quite good, which reminds me I should review their online services.

Beautiful new library finally got to visit! Cool, same as every library but with lovely Nanakuli views of mountain and ocean. They have updated modern look, love the high ceilings, shelves in the adult section lights up as you walk by, there are charging stations on table, lots of seating area, couches, chairs, tables, lots of computers in both adult and children's section. My only negative star is they didn't have much events going on especially for the children in summer. But I understand, they're still new. Love it anyway!

One of the best public libraries in Hawaii! Not only is it fairly new but, we love the Librarian…read morehere, Ms. Sasha! There's always something for all ages going on! They have monthly craft events, movie nights and more! We especially love Wednesday story time. There's lots of space for little ones with singing, dancing, a craft and of course book reading. Every 1st Wednesday they have puzzles and STEM toys out for little ones to play. Lastly, for older kids and adults, they offer all kinds of reading challenges some through logging books manually, some through the Beanstack app. Currently, during the Olympics, they have a reading challenge where you earn medals! They also have another challenge where you log books to earn prizes. Most recently, we participated in therapets event where you could read to a therapy dog. My daughter loved petting all the dogs and getting to know them! Overall, we absolutely love learning, reading, and playing at the library! Overall, we love learning, reading, and playing here!

Shhhhhhh!!... As…read moreit's been awhile since I've stepped foot in a library and I don't know why as I do love a place to relax and get work done while my phone as gone through a day of use it also needed some recharging as well badly. Looking around some libraries as closed at 4pm but this Aiea location was open until 7pm that made it very convenient as I do see many use it for various reasons. Parking lot in the back is quite large and had no problems finding a spot while the restrooms are outside for public use is very nice as well. As i entered found it so nice and spacious with lots of tables though many spots are taken for the ones that needed outlets to work I did end up finding more designated tables and outlets use to charge is very cool. The vibe here is very relaxing and now will keep libraries in mind for times that I do need to sit and relax along with a restroom break as well all provided to the public is something we all need to remember. Thank you!

The ceiling lights remind me of my grandma's old living room! There's useful resources when entering like bus routes, tax forms, the new ENV sewer credit application, etc. The library is organized & reference signs are clear. It's quiet (like it should be). There's computer areas, charging station, children's room, another room in back, a meeting room for activities/games, that you could also rent. There's a atrium (or something like that - see pic). There's free weekly activities for the communitiy to join (what we waiting for)! The staff is friendly and explanatory. Tips: Cash or checks only! Hot list books & DVD's are 1 week rental, all other books, even ukulele's can rent 3 weeks and return to any state public library! You can also do Self checkout if you feeling anti social. Speaking of, it's Mental Health Awareness month & they caringly put out resources, pamphlets & book suggestions to help with that Happy reading!
