Fun little snow park in the area before Reno. They do charge for parking however you can park by the store for 20 minutes if you just wanted to take a peek. Plenty of kids and families there. Best to bring your own sled if you wanted to do sledding. Or bring your own snow accessories / toys. Overall nice place for kids to get their energy out.

Perfect day trip for the family. We went right after a snow storm so plenty of fresh snow. They had porta potties which was convenient but not preferred. Only 1 hour away for us so worth the trip. Parking did fill up fast in the morning.

    Now increased to $30

Still good for the small kid. Not much of sledding can be done. Parking fee now increased to $30. Line up by the restroom by the building way before you pee if you do not want to use the portalet ones.

4 stars cause I find it a little expensive to pay $30 for a parking but sure its cheaper than the actual skii resorts. We didn't use the portalets cause from the looks of it fr the outside- looks like you'd rather use other toilets than use the ones they have inside. Overall good experience and will be back as my kids loved sledding!

Very low snow level ! Awesome for little kids to build snowman / snow balls . Not much else . A lot of parking ! Pay at mart across street if you want

What a beautiful day easy to find

Our family drove 1 house from Sacramento easy drive up and played for 3 house. Everyone was nice and out dog even enjoyed the snow.

1.25.25 - barely any snow. I would pass on this place until there's more snow fall

1.25.25 There was no snow on this day. There's also no active phone line to talk to staff about the snow levels. Wouldn't recommend this area atm. I would keep driving further towards Tahoe for snow

It's a great place, inexpensive, and easy to get to. Had an extremely great time last year Feb 2024. However, currently 2/8/25, there isn't much snow, a little disappointing with a lot of dirt and brush showing through, especially in the afternoon. Just as we were pulling in, the nice lady working at the parking lot asked us to climb up into the snow area (only one side that had enough snow to be open) to take a look before we decided to buy the parking pass, telling us to go further north if we wanted more snow. We decided to stay anyway.

Really depends on weather snowfall. When we went I would not say it's worth the parking fee. Luckily I scoped the place out a day prior. Some families were playing but my husband said there wasn't a slope

Barely any snow. Keep driving to Donner to play in fluffy snow for free.

This place isn't great. It is more for little kids under 4 years old. They didn't have tons of snow. It was a mix of snow and mud. Went on a Monday and it was empty. The snow is more icy and hard. When you call the number to check hours it says Monday-Friday but they are also open on weekends. It is right off the freeway. Paid at the gas station. Was able to use bathrooms at gas station too. Drove 20 more minutes to Donner and it had way more snow and it was soft and fluffy and it was free. Definitely keep driving to play in the snow for free. This place is for younger kids. Not worth the $25!!

Ask the Community - Nyack Snow Park

Hi! Not sure this will be seen before I visit tomorrow but just wanted to test my luck and see if there's a good amount of snow? Just taking a quick little trip for our 5 year old to get a couple hours of snow play. TYIA!

There is some snow but to me, it's a little bit patchy with grass and dirt in spots. Still, there are children out there playing now. Sorry, we don't have internet or phones out in the park so we don't see these until we are off the mountain in a… Read more

Are there picnic tables there and are we allowed to bring our own propane gas stove for cooking?

We do have one picnic table in the park, but it typically is covered in snow and can be difficult to access due to the patrons surrounding it. No propane. We discourage propane stoves in the play area or when parked near adjacent buildings and… Read more

Our ETA might be 4 on friday. Can we still play? Do we purchase parking ticket on site because i cannot print anything anymore?

Yes you will be welcome. We don’t print tickets online. If parking is being sold at that time (depending on weather and crowds) you would visit either the ticket booth attendant or the register at the Shell station.

Does it open on weekend too or just weekdays?

Weekends too! Check weather and road conditions first.

Around what time does it usually start getting busy? Or is there always space available?

We arrived around 10am and it was reasonably open until after 12. There is another whole area we could have moved too but the kids were enjoying the other children too much to move.

Are dogs allowed in the park?

    Yes.

Equipment is included for kids 8 and under (size 4 and under). Steal! At that price point, this is the perfect snow day with a group of kids. For anyone outside of that range, rentals are $59 flat, whether you stay two hours or all day. Go all day to maximize your rentals! That said, the kids play area was pretty underwhelming for my kids (ages 10-12). The slopes were short, not all lanes were open, and there was only one black magic carpet running. That meant tubers, snowboarders, and skiers were all sharing it, which slowed things down quite a bit. Getting around wasn't the easiest either. There's only one entrance and exit and into the resort, so you're walking everything in while the kids carry their gear. Not terrible, but definitely inconvenient. We were told there was a tram running every 5 minutes, but it wasn't operating that day. My guess is they scale back operations on discounted days (fewer lanes open, no tram, only one black magic carpet). Parking was easy for the only entrance, which I appreciated, but it would be so much better if there was direct access to the kids area from the lot. Service was subpar. Staff weren't rude, but definitely not warm or helpful. No one showed the kids how to put on their boots or gear, and we weren't told helmets were required until my kids were already at the top of the slope, so I had to go all the way back to rentals. Also worth noting: kids 8 and under are restricted to the kids area only (no lifts or bigger slopes), which makes sense, but that wasn't clearly communicated upfront. Overall, the kids still had fun, and for $35, it's worth it. But I would only come back on a discounted day. I wouldn't pay full price for the experience as it currently is.

On top of that once we finally got to the top, and sat down on the tube and started sliding, we got stuck all through out the slope all the way down pushing with our hands, and the kids couldn't even reach with their hand to push themselves down. What a disappointment!!!! Sooo expensive, besides our day was ruined, the kids were so sad and down because of it. I went to the reception to request our refund because we had to leave to try to find another place to go have fun if possible, they said they couldn't do the refund there but to email costumer service. So I did. As soon as we got to the car. The next day they answered and said since the adults area was not optimal they would refund me those tickets even though it was against policy, but the kids they wouldn't as their area was working fine. We didn't even use the kids area, we went to the adults area, all of us!! Besides, we're we supposed to let a couple kids have fun and not the others ?? Also, shouldn't you warn people about it before they purchase the tickets ???? Is this part of their scam ? And the material broken and not operational? A hazard even!!! What a inconsiderate thing to do from their part. Well, I said I wanted the full amount back and explained the situation over and over again, and a couple days later the refund for the adults tickets that she had refunded us, disappeared!!!!! OMG !!! Honestly people, DON'T waste your money here.

This place has a genuine mom-and-pop feel, the kind where people actually care about the families coming through the door. Bekah at the front desk was the first person who really set the tone. My day had already been a bit hectic trying to coordinate everything, and she calmly helped straighten things out and get us settled in. Lindsay was fantastic out on the hill--super attentive and very protective of my boy's safety, which any parent immediately appreciates. Erik went above and beyond helping my 4-year-old son Sebastian when he was unsure about getting on the tube. That moment meant a lot to me as a parent. The kids working at the top of the hill kept the energy up and made it exciting for my boys every run. Back at the lodge, Bekah and Dee were everywhere helping people out and keeping things running smoothly. Dee in particular seemed to be all over the place making sure everyone had what they needed. Another big plus: they have all the gear you might need right there at the lodge, and the prices are very fair. If you forget something, don't turn around or stress about it--just settle in at the lodge and they'll get you taken care of. Honestly I could keep going, because everyone there contributed to making the day great. I was trying to divide my mind and body managing the kids, but the staff ended up being the glue that held the whole experience together.
