Both watches were restored to mint condition-- the Omega had significant scratches and the Panerai had a ding, all of which were flawlessly repaired (check attached pictures). Excellent service at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Avoid Ralph at All Costs - Incompetent and Dishonest…read more I'm writing this from the courthouse where I've just filed a lawsuit against Ralph. That alone should tell you everything you need to know. I brought my father's watch to Ralph for a simple gasket replacement. It's a diving watch he wore while serving in the military, and I'm heading to Ukraine to serve myself--I wanted to wear the watch in his honor. I chose Ralph because of the many glowing reviews online. Big mistake. The first red flag was the overwhelming smell of marijuana in his shop. I dismissed it at the time, thinking maybe it helped him focus on delicate work. I couldn't have been more wrong. When I first brought the watch in, it was functioning well--just running about a minute slow each day. All I asked was for Ralph to replace two gaskets. We agreed on $200, which was all I could afford as I won't be working for the next six months during service in Ukraine. For such a basic job, it was a fair price. A day later, I called to ask if he could look into the cost of a new crystal. After not hearing back for a couple of days, I followed up--only to be told he had already replaced the crystal for $150 without my consent. When I told him I wouldn't have agreed to that, he flew into a rage, yelling about how he wasn't making enough on the job. It became clear to me he may have serious issues, possibly substance-related. When I finally went to pick up the watch, the bezel no longer turned. Ralph claimed I had damaged it myself, which I hadn't. Then I noticed the self-winding mechanism wasn't working. He insisted it was fine, despite clear evidence to the contrary. It was rubbing against the back plate. I stormed out taking my watch, but later returned, hoping he would take responsibility. After more yelling and resistance, he begrudgingly agreed to take another look. Weeks passed. My departure date for Ukraine got closer. Today, 2 days day before I leave, Ralph texts to say the watch is ready. I go in--and unbelievably, it's in worse condition than before. The winding mechanism is not working as it should. The bezel now turns, but it could easily be roomed with a thumbnail. I walked out refusing to pay. This time, he followed me outside, becoming aggressive. I told him I would see him in court. Later that day, I went to another, far more competent watch repair professional. He opened the case and immediately found the issue: the movement wasn't seated properly, and the retaining ring was missing. I know that was there when I gave it to him because I open the watch myself to see what gaskets were needed. Without it, the entire mechanism is unstable. If a replacement can be found, the watch might be salvageable. But it's an older model, and chances are slim. This isn't just a watch--it's a deeply sentimental piece of my family's history. And it's also quite valuable. Ralph, if you're reading this: You know exactly what happened. That retaining ring didn't vanish on its own. It's either still in your shop or you carelessly threw it away. I don't forget things like this, and I'm not letting it go. Ever. To anyone considering trusting him with something valuable: Don't. The reviews are misleading. My experience was a disaster, and now I'm left with a broken watch and a legal battle just days before leaving. Also, take a moment to read the negative reviews--those are the accurate ones. Many people have had experiences similar to mine. And look at his responses: full of excuses, never accountability. He clearly lacks the ability to take personal responsibility. Pathetic. Take a look at the photo I've attached. You can see at nine and 10 o'clock the space between the watch face and the case itself.

First off, I had to check a few times to be sure that I was reading the reviews of the correct…read moreJeweler... I can't believe the three lukewarm reviews these guys received! Honestly, I can't account for their experiences but I will remind that for the most part people are more apt to post bad experiences on yelp than good ones. That may explain things.. I suppose. That being said: I came to Kravit Jewelers by a recommendation from my brother, who also purchased an engagement ring there years back. He became friendly with the owner, Benny, and advised me to check the place out, and so I did. (It wasn't until recently that my brother reminded me this actually wasn't my first visit to Kravit Jewelers - when I was in my very early 20's I bought a diamond cross necklace for my now-fiancé whom I had just met then - funny/small world!) So this was all new to me. I knew exactly nothing about anything ring-related, like most guys out there. Benny and his associate Val both spent several hours on multiple visits educating my fiancé and myself about the process. In addition, they showed us many stones which helped us decide on the perfect one. There was no hard-sale here like I experienced at another jeweler (who "forgot" what my budget was, and showed us $30K+ stones... come on...). In fact, the first stone my fiancé liked was an amazing deal. However it was I who actually pushed Benny to go a bit more upscale on the stone. When does that ever happen?! No hard-sale here, not one bit. You are your own man and you get to control the situation - I liked that. The setting Suzanne wanted was one she saw online. She knew exactly what she wanted, as most women do, and it was my Benny's job to make sure she got that (gulp). Armed with a cell-phone picture and video of the desired setting, we visited Val once again. He went over materials to be used (and again, didn't up-sell or pretend that Platinum is better or whatever). He basically laid out the pro's and cons of each metal, more like a geologist would rather than a salesman. Again, a big plus. Within the week, Val had a 3D print of the setting for us to see, along with the actual stone we had chosen to match it up with. Suzanne was able to try on the ring before we even had it - amazing. As the weeks passed, our vacation date had been approaching. I had planned on just going away to Florida for a few days, never thinking that I would be done with the seemingly arduous process of ring-shopping, but now it looked very possible that I would have the ring done on time for our trip. Again, Val pulled through, getting the ring done just a day before the trip. He hit it spot-on the first try, with NOTHING that needed work or fixing. I couldn't believe it. Instead of having to trek all over creation to find a stone and setting (or deal with Manhattan diamond district and all of it's annoyances) I was literally going to be done after only having to go check out two places (Kravit for the purchase and a place in Huntington for comparison of what up-selling salespeople can be like). And to top it off, I'd be able to propose on our vacation (after telling Suzanne the ring wouldn't be ready for another few weeks, because it had to be custom made - pretty believable!) So off we went to sunny Florida, me hiding the perfect ring with the best calm and collectiveness I could muster. I took Suzanne flying in a small plane that I rented at a local Clearwater airport, and at 2500 feet over the sandy shores of Clearwater Beach I became the happiest pilot alive. Because Benny delivered an excellent product for a more than reasonable price - and did it when I needed it - and flawlessly, I was able to see through what has easily become the best and most memorable day of my life. Big thanks to Benny, Val, and the rest of the crew at Kravit Jewelers. You can't go wrong here. Don't let the other reviews scare you - I am more than happy with our experience. He really took the pain and uncertainty out of buying a diamond. His stones are GIA certified and he will not let you leave his store without getting an insurance policy for the jewelry (this is very important to have, and I can't understand why some people cheap out on this).
