All the axperts and the front desk are amazing and very nice at the farmingdale location . I would definitely comeback . Oh wait i do...

It was quiet when we went and there was only one other group there at the time. I thought it was weird that they put us right next to the other group and didn't space us out a bit. We chose to do archery instead of axe throwing and had a really good time. The lane host was knowledgeable, encouraging and friendly. There were several games to choose from and a good time was had by all. The only negative i see is is the pricing. It is the same price per person whether you have 2 people it the lane or 4...At that rate, it would make sense to book two lanes with 2 people in each to maximize the time playing vs. waiting. read more

My work hosted our holiday activity here and it was AMAZING!! The staff and the owner and everyone there were so kind and friendly and helpful and the space was clean and enjoyable. Such fun games and just a phenomenal experience! I'd go back in a heartbeat ‍ read more

I went here the other day, i did their axe tossing. I never did axe tossing before, it was my first time. The staff showed/told me how to do it, when i messed up they gave tips and were very friendly. They had multiple types of axes including ninja stars (i tried it out, it was cool) They had multiple throwing axe versions of games to play ranging from connect 4 to tic tac toe. The staff was friendly and the place was nice. I may go to again. read more

I surprised my gf here for a date and it was amazing! The staff was very friendly, they have tons of mini games you can do with the axe throwing, and if you're a beginner then don't worry, because the staff is very good at explaining how everything is done! The place is clean, amazing atmosphere and will be back here again! read more

This is an expensive activity, especially if you get drinks, but its a fun time and something different! I believe it was about $80 for two people for the axe throwing, and then we got a bucket of white claws as well. It was fun because they were playing good music and the guy who was helping us was really nice and taught us the technique. read more

Went here today with the wife for an occasion. Started off rough because our time was for 8, for there early and still had to wait. BUT an employee came up to us, promised the wait would be short (which it was) and offered us a water or Gatorade. I appreciated this. Inside we were assigned a lane and instructor. Ours happened to be ray ray who was fun, helpful and awesome. There's a few types of games that you can play plus there's also throwing stars. Plenty of parking and the place is very nice. Next time I go I'm bringing my kids and some friends. read more

I came here on a Saturday for my birthday. Reservations were at 3:00pm. I had a group of 14. The staff were really nice and helpful. Each member of the party had to sign a waiver. They brought us to a small room where they showed us how to throw the axes and explained all the rules. We got a private room in the back with 3 lanes. James was our staff who helped us the entire time. He was a great time. James was really funny and energetic. I highly recommend requesting him for your parties. It was my first time axe throwing. Axe throwing is kind of set up like bowling with turns and scores. The targets switched so it never got boring. The targets also got smaller to make it more challenging. I was the high scorer of my team. Anytime, you hit a bullseye they rang a bell and you got a sticker. My family really enjoyed themselves. I definitely would go back. I had so much fun. read more

Despite having a myriad of reviews to write about my recent Key West adventures, I've pushed those all to the side to write up a local LI spot that just rocked it recently. Yep, we're talking about NY Axe Throwing Range in Farmingdale. Now this was my third time actually launching sharp objects at wooden targets, but my first two experiences were with a different axe throwing business (Kick Axe). I had an amazing experience (Brooklyn) and a pretty blah experience (Philly) with them so I was interested to see what a different axe place would hold. NY Axe might've hit the target (har har) exponentially better than both of those Kick Axe experiences combined. For starters, NY Axe breaks down all the safety procedures prior to getting on the axe throwing lanes. This means you're not wasting time (which might be just an hour) on hearing about how to keep all your fingers for the evening. The safety speech was also delivered in a comedic way which didn't make the time in this first room feel like a waste. Once on the lane, we had an "axpert" with us the entire time who was funny, chill, and super supportive. He helped in making sure we were comfortable throwing before we began. Here's where I start to throw (maybe pun intended?) all of the advantages of NY Axe out there. First, there are two sizes of axes which helps for those of varying heights/weights find the right feel (I'm small so the tinier axe did the trick). They also let you choose between two different throwing motions (one or two handed depending on your skill and comfort level). I stuck with two hands, but it was cool to watch my larger friends throw one-handed. Though maybe one of the best parts about NY Axe was the scoring and game setup. They have a projected screen over the wooden board down at the end of the lane which shows a bowling-type grid with each person's name on top and a digital target below. Just throw your axe and if it hits one of the projected target numbers then you can click on it with the nearby mouse and keyboard. Plus, the targets change! Each round the bullseye moves to a different spot which adds some extra skill to the game. Oh and I can't forget that in the last few minutes (time was posted on the top of the board which was also nice because you weren't getting gypped) we threw at zombie faces and birds that were projected on the board. C'mon, it doesn't get more fun than that! Overall, NY Axe Throwing Range was fantastic in its setup, staff, and entire process of giving you as much time to throw axes and have fun as possible. I'll even say the price wasn't too shabby ($55 for 90 minutes) which potentially beats out that other axe throwing spot I mentioned earlier. So if you're looking to relieve some stress or just want a fun and different experience, I highly recommend NY Axe. You'll love it so much you might skip over other reviews just to get it out on Yelp! read more

The boards were not stable enough to maintain axes being thrown onto it. I've been to other axe throwing places and the boards did not consistently chip after an axe was thrown each time. The material may be cheaper as pieces kept flying off every time an axe was thrown. The boards were extremely deteriorated and looked like they have not been replaced since they were installed. Overall, spend your money elsewhere until this place improves. There were only 2 axe options while other places have multiple axes to throw. There was also a babysitter in our section that watched my friend and I throw the entire time. It was extremely awkward and I understand it may have been for safety reasons but still awkward nonetheless. read more

Team building even here but perfect for a date, party or any type of party. This was so much fun. The staff was professional. They really took the time to make sure we had a great experience Even throughout the night if our axe wasn't hitting the board right they would come by and make adjustments for us. The differ that types of throwing games keeps it fun and interesting. And the competition level is high but playful. The attention to detail for Covid was great and made us feel comfortable. This is a great spot. If they start league play sign me up. read more

Honestly, considering this is utilizing an old office space, I was sufficiently impressed by NY Axe! Outside, does look like an industrial park. But inside, is surprisingly well lit and decorated. We walked in as a group and filled out our waivers conveniently at standing computers. After we were called in, we were given a quick runthrough and led to our lane. My group ended up doing archery. And for a bunch of beginners, we had a lot of fun! The equipment is easy to manage and the game keeps you challenged. Once you're done with the main game, you can choose a variety of other archery based games to play until your time runs out. And snacks and drinks are located in a vending machine beside you. Aside from the price ( a whopping $39/pp) there isn't much else I can complain about this place! If you're looking for a rainy day activity on the island and don't want to watch another movie, come on down to the Range! read more

First time axe throwing! Reservations were made quick and easy online. For my fiance and I for 1 hour it was $80. Parking can be a bit of a squeeze here, so if you find the lot's packed, you might want to snag a spot across the street at the theater lot. We got to our 9 pm reservation 20 mins early, only to notice the parking area was nearly full with 2 spots left. Stepping inside, the place wowed us with its spotlessness and spacious vibe. I was expecting more of a bar atmosphere but this was not the case. The team here is also the real deal--every single person, from the folks at the front desk to the ax-throwing gurus, radiated a genuine, welcoming aura. I'll be the first to admit that ax throwing isn't my forte, but I still had a blast and it's decent exercise. I am glad I tried it out. read more

It was fun but I guess I had better expectations leading up to it. It was ok, wouldn't be my first choice for something to do.

This place is fun fun fun - from the time you walk in the staff is so accommodating - they explain everything in detail. There is always a staff member nearby if you need anything. It's really a great night out. I can't wait to do it again read more

Fun place that offered more than I expected. Went to try out axe throwing for the first time and celebrate my son's birthday. Got a good deal for a group of eight. This group was a mix of adults and teens so it was nice to have arcade games to play before we were set up with a lane. We had a person at the axe throwing lane show us how to start and stayed with us the whole time. We were not good at throw but it was still fun and had no issues. It was nice the order alcohol and snacks but it took to prepare, next time will probably order drinks first and not as many snacks read more

Our first time at NY Axe Throwing. Aiden was our coach and he was a delight. He ensured we were able to successfully throw the axe and was patient and encouraging as we took multiple attempts. The 60 min flew by for this couple as we tried all the games. The target is digital so you get to change up the targets and games as much as you want. The facility is on the second floor in a corporate/warehouse type building. They had pizza and drinks available to order (no alcohol). Highly recommend for an entertaining night out! read more

I went here on sat march 9 2024 with my two friends it was our first time there the staff was incredible very patient especially the two workers Gunner and Ray they were so nice and took their time to show us how to throw a Axe we will definitely be back for sure it's definitely work the experience and money read more

This place is definitely in cut, but a very good find of mine. If you love activities, you'll love axe throwing in general, but even more at this establishment. When you are there they give you a proper tutorial to learn and how safely throw the axe. Once inside, you have an instructor that is there to help you (if you need some) a long the way. What I appreciate about this place in comparison to others is the digital aspect. I love that you are able to play many different types of games because of the projector. It make axe throwing more of a unique experience in comparison to just throwing it at a board and only aiming for one spot. A wonderful spot for date night, with a some friends/family or a birthday. They are fairly priced and offer a great time. read more

This place is located in some sort of office building which was very interesting haha. They have plenty of parking on the side! My friends and I (group of 4) came on a Friday night around 9pm and thankfully didn't have to wait without a reservation. Our axpert, Ray Ray was such a nice guy and was so helpful in getting us comfortable with throwing an axe! Throwing an axe is not as easy as it seems but it was really fun for everyone! The only con is that it's kinda pricey, $39pp for an hour. Though it was expensive, we thought it was worth it because it was a really fun experience! read more

Had a great experience here. They have really fun games you can play throughout your allotted time and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I came on a date here and ended up having so much fun. The interior is also really nice, especially for an axe throwing place. I would recommend coming here for a date, birthday party, or maybe even a work event. They have a lot of space and it is a great time! read more

Very fun activity and the staff is very nice and fun. very clean environment as well. Every location has been good so far.

awesome night Chantel was our instructor and guide - we had a blast! I had the best time! Also Ali is amazing! He's so kind, so helpful, he made it so much fun! He was very interactive with us! It was four of us in total for our team and we had a blast! The game options were really cool, we didn't expect those. We thought you'd just aim for a bullseye the whole time but that was not the case! There's Tic Tac Toe, Connect four, Zombies, etc. Such a great experience! 10/10! read more

Axe throwing wise it was fun and lived up to the hype. Our instructor was cool and helpful. My issue was other locations include a bar so I wrongfully assumed all locations offered drinks. This place does not and it does not say that anywhere on their website or reservation process that they do not have their liquor license. We were pretty disappointed in their lack transparency. Would have went to Selden location if we knew. read more

What an extremely fun night out! We won a gift certificate to NY AXE, so we decided to make a night of it with friends. The staff was upbeat, very friendly, informative and helpful through out the entire time there. The place was very clean with a cool vibe. Extremely fun, safe experience! Not only is it axe throwing, you can also try stars and cards. Excited to get out of the NY humidity and found this activity. The staff were super helpful as 3 of the 6 of us did not have closed toed shoes. No problem, they had new socks and crocs for us borrow. There was an axe-pert with us the whole time to help us be successful. He was very helpful. After the first few throws each it would have been a little nicer if he stepped back and let us just do our thing but it wasn't terrible. Overall we had a fantastic time and a great night out. read more
