First of all the handcrafted nature of the escape room , puzzles , and theme provide a rich experience for all ages. Dobby is a master of knowing his audience from kids, to teens, or even a gals or guys night out he can customize the experience. We had a blast and came out feeling like a team and were proud of mastering the room. Bend is a great place full of things to do. It so hard to find time for everything. This escape room experience is a way to maximize your time here because it's right next to places for dinner or lunch. We did it before lunch on our way out of town and it made for an exclamation point on our weekend. Try it out, you won't be sorry. read more

I took my fiancé on day trip to Bend for his birthday, Ol' Pappy's Trapper Cabin was the cherry on top of an unforgettable day. Booking our visit was super easy- It was nice to be able to text Ky, the owner, with any questions. I opted for an evening booking and was very happy for it- the cabin looks pretty spiffy at night. We visited the trailer at the box factory (the trailer can also come to visit you), it's a wonderful area in town with live music, breweries, and eats- so if you arrive early you'll have lots to do while you wait. It was great to be greeted by Ky (as Dobby, the not-so-bright kid who watches ol' pappy's cabin while he's out) we felt very welcome. When you step into the cabin you can see just how much hard work and dedication went in to the character of the place. The puzzles were engaging without being convoluted-- accessible, but also very tight. There are some fun surprises waiting for you snoopin' city folk. Ky also added some personal touches just for my partner's birthday, complete with a beer puzzle- he felt very special :) If you're still not convinced, take a look at Ky's website. There's no substitute for a business owner who loves what they do and the investment in the immersion is so delightful and makes all the difference. We left smiling! read more

We have been waiting for Ole Pappy's Cabin to be open for hourly bookings. We saw it on TV and didn't have a big event we needed to bring it to. I booked it for my boyfriend and I, after a conference that took me to Bend. The set design is insanely well done. Ole Pappy's groundskeeper greets you and never breaks character. He'll stay with you the whole time, but never fear, I dislike games that have actors in them, and I still had a blast. The game is designed for folks who are new to escape rooms, but was still very fun for two enthusiasts. It can be modified for age groups making it very family friendly. This is unique as many rooms discourage bringing children. If you're in Bend and looking for some fun, I suggest you stop by. I do want to return to play it at night. I hear the swamp is amazing in the moonlight. read more

We brought the kids (age 11 and 15) to the escape room for something out of the norm to do while visiting Bend. We had such a good time trying to figure out all the puzzles and working together as a family. I loved all the neat "decorations" and way the way the cabin was set up. The kids really enjoyed it and it was a fun way to be together. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for something fun to do. read more

8 months from concept and construction to our first snoopin city folk, this was an old school "boot straps" endeavor that we feel blessed to have so many people excited about.

Meet the Business Owner: Ky D.

After receiving a BFA in acting Ky has been performing professionally. Aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, or driving a truck and trailer to State and County fairs across North America bringing the fun to the audience has always shown to be a winning model. Most men get a motorcycle for their mid life crisis, he bought a 1974 travel trailer and gave it a new life so people all over the PNW could enjoy a little escape from their everyday routines.

Our kiddos (aged 3.5 to 6.5) loved the splash pad. We let them use our tupperware from our picnic to catch the water or cover the spigots, and they loved doing that. Most of the kids playing in the water ended up being temporary friends. Besides the splash pad, there is also a music section (with a xylophone) and some fancy swings. All very sun-exposed.
