I had really high hopes for Nuzzlers after reading all the great reviews. We needed someplace to board our dogs because their usual place was full, and Nuzzlers had some of the highest marks. Drop off was fine. Everyone was attentive and kind, and the dogs seemed okay going with them. When I picked them up three days later, they smelled badly of urine. When we got home, I noticed some pills hadn't been given to one of our dogs (they were in a pillminder we sent them in). I texted, since the other dog's pills were just in a bottle and I didn't want to give him another pill if he'd already gotten it. They texted, explaining they refrain from feeding or medicating dogs when they're picked up in the AM because they might get sick on the way home. It made sense, so I thanked them. So I fed the dogs, gave meds, and started unpacking the rest of their stuff. Turned out the medications in the pill minder weren't given the night before, either. Our dog has a few things going on, and needs her meds. Just as I was about to call them about it, both dogs vomited up everything they ate. They vomited up bile that night, and again in the morning, so we called our vet, who gave us some tips on what to do if they got worse because they couldn't get them in until the next day. Both stopped vomiting before going to the vet (of course), but we were advised to do pumpkin, chicken, and feed them in smaller servings throughout the day for several days. One puked again that evening, but the other seemed okay. I'm glad they're recovered now, and unsure what would've caused the illness, but with all that happened, we won't be returning. read more

Michelle who owns Nuzzlers is the best of PET MOTELS in the area. While on vacation, our diabetic dog got real sick. She called immediately and I called our vet. He couldn't get her in until the next morning so she moved her from her pen to a private room and held her and slept with her all night long. The next morning, she took her to the vet and stayed there with her. She went WAY OVER AND ABOVE what her services were for. I can't thank her enough for taking care of her while we were 850 miles away. Thank you again Michelle. read more

My wife and I absolutely love Nuzzler's. We send our dog (Baker) here for day care as well as when we leave for vacations. He has such an amazing time! Every time we pull into the parking lot he gets super excited because he knows he gets to play with a lot of other dogs all day! The owners are extremely accommodating and will work with your schedule as much as possible. We love how they treat our little guy as one of their own. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR FUR BABIES HERE!! We recently went on a week long vacation and left our two dogs at Nuzzlers. Apparently, five days into their stay our boxer beagle mix (Sprinkles) "was not acting herself". We were in an area with poor cell service and did not receive the two phone calls they made that day. They DID NOT call a vet to discuss the situation or to have Sprinkles looked at. Our perfectly HEALTHY eight year old love DIED in their "care". I have a suspicion if was from heat stroke but this can not be proven. When I was holding my dead, frozen fur baby I examined her mouth which was extremely red (normally light pink) which is a sign of heat stroke as is the way she was "walking sideways"(from what we were told)! There are no cameras on property to verify how long Sprinkles was left outside during the very hot week! The only thing we have to go on is the word of the owners of this establishment. Our hearts are broken and I am trying to save you from the same heartache. read more

I just picked up my 4 fur babies from Nuzzlers after boarding them for 10 nights and they were happy, healthy and well cared for. My one pup has a heart condition and needs medication twice a day. Michele knew I was concerned about this and kept in touch with me while I was gone via text and email to assure me everything was going well. This made my vacation a lot easier because had I known his diagnosis before I made vacation plans, we probably wouldn't have gone. The Nuzzlers staff made my little dogs a part of their family, allowing them daily play time outside of their kennel and giving my pup his medication daily at no extra charge. They also had a cot and blankets to make them comfortable. I have boarded at other local kennels and they have always charged extra to give medication and to allow outside play time. I am not talking about just letting the dogs outside, I am talking about play time with the Nuzzlers staff or other dogs there upon request. My dogs are small so I wanted them kept separate from big dogs so Michele made sure they only interacted with Nuzzlers staff per my wishes. I would not hesitate to leave my fur babies with Nuzzlers again. I was very pleased with the level of care. read more

Royal York Pet Motel was totally not as it was described on their website. They said they do not have cages, but 4x8 foot runs, with separate areas for eating and sleeping. Well, when I got there and was shown around the place, there were in fact what I would call cages........basically tall cyclone fence enclosures, probably 4x4, with a doggy door that could be opened out to what looked like another 4x4 cage........no grass or anything, and they expect the dogs to do their business on concrete! Not sure where the separate areas were for eating and sleeping, as there was hardly any room for them to even turn around. They are supposedly let out three or four times a day into a large fenced enclosure that is all concrete......no walks or playtime were mentioned at all. You are not allowed to bring pillows, only blankets, and no toys. Hello.....I am not going to have my dog basically lying on concrete for an entire week, and if I can't even send a familiar toy along with her, it's not happening. I also find it interesting that there are no photos of the "runs" on their website, or any of their accommodations, for that matter. I am sooo glad that I toured the place before making a decision about where to board my dog! read more
