We also purchase the deal that starts right downtown Galena just down the street from Nuts Outdoors where the bridge crosses the Galena River.

That's lying.then said we don't sell those Chinese parts , that's racist and incorrect. all this terrible interaction was to hide the brand loyalty they're bound to. i am afraid of sabotage as a tool to drive me away. instead of just outright refusing service because my bike is the wrong brand. I went and got some facts for you. Why That Statement Doesn't Hold Up If that shop truly refuses to stock any components made in China, they're likely contradicting themselves without realizing it. Here's why: · Tier 1 Components: Even flagship groupsets from Shimano (Japan) and SRAM (USA)--the two dominant players--have significant manufacturing, casting, and assembly operations in China, Taiwan, and other parts of Asia. A "Shimano" bike isn't a "Japanese" bike; it's a globally sourced product. · Frames & Finishing: The vast majority of aluminum and carbon fiber frames sold worldwide--regardless of the brand name on the down tube (Trek, Specialized, Cannondale, etc.)--are manufactured in Taiwan or China by OEM giants like Giant or Merida. · Wheels & Finishing Kits: Items like stems, handlebars, seat posts, and even high-end carbon wheelsets often come from specialized Asian manufacturers, even if they're branded with a Western company's logo. However, the blanket statement "we don't carry Chinese parts" is a massive oversimplification. If they are selling any modern bike with Shimano, SRAM, or a branded aluminum/carbon frame, they are selling Asian-made parts. A Quick Reality Check for the Shop Component Likely Origin Shimano Drivetrain Japan (design), China or Malaysia (manufacturing) SRAM Drivetrain USA (design), Taiwan or China (manufacturing) Aluminum Frame Taiwan, China, or Vietnam Carbon Frame Taiwan or China High-End Wheels USA/Europe (assembly), but rims/hubs often from Taiwan Overwhelming Share: An estimated 87% to 94% of bicycles and their components in the United States rely on supply from China alone . · Industry Reality: This high level of dependence means that almost all bikes sold in the U.S. are either manufactured in China or assembled there from Chinese-made parts . · The Cost Factor: For some U.S. manufacturers, components sourced from China represent as much as 90% of their total parts cost .

I've really appreciated their advice and bike tune-up expertise in everything from new tires, better chain lubricant, to why one bike is different than another when buying. they've always let me take them on a test spin before buying for me or my kids. I've got a high level of trust for their work and opinion. A few years ago they assembled a child bike trailer (Wee-hoo) for me when I bought it, which saved me hours!

Are you a local or passing through the Bellevue area who maybe contemplating buying a easy to ride…read moreBicycle? Maybe one that resembles those you grew up riding in your youth? Are you a Cycling junkie who enjoys talking stories with a well traveled soul that has his own to match? I have cycled many roads and met many colorful souls along the pedaling path of life. There is none finer than Mark a retired Veteran who worked the railroads in his other life. After being injured at work he made a decision to go to school to gather a "Certified Cycling Mechanic" label to add to his already love for building, and fixing things especially bikes. Once you come through the doors of his shop you realize this is a little different than most. Every nook and cranny of space is neatly utilized. It has a rhythm and a way as it begins to speak to you about this place he has named "The Backwaters Bicycle Shop". He has what must be close to 200 Bikes, an assortment of many types and styles all in the finest condition possible. I won't rave about the Bikes he has restored some from the 1940's, the kind that Mike Wolfe from American Pickers while visiting has tried several times but could not get him to let go of. I won't seek to amaze you with the prices on some of these beautiful Bikes he is selling with 1960 prices that are rebuilt to perfection or the newer bikes he has that are just what most who live in this Midwest Farmland might well be seeking. I suspect that once you visit you will not pass through Bellevue Iowa again on your way North or South without calling and checking to see if he is at work in "The Backwaters Bike Shop". It's an absolute must visit and will provide an opportunity to take a step back in time with what I consider one of the finest souls you will ever cross paths with.
