Pennsylvania Rye - Roasted Cauliflower ($10)

    Pennsylvania Rye

Exceptional as always…read more Denise took care of us, as well as the bartender, in their cool yet warm, modern establishment. The food is always exceptional. In a nutshell, the chef caters to flavor, and balanced flavor at that, which makes each dish phenomenal. I had the grilled octopus appetizer and it is the best octopus I have had since 1989. That is no lie. Their shell and cheese, small beet salad, hummus, and fall risotto special are equally fantastic in their own right. Enjoy the food, drinks, and quiet atmosphere. Whether small plates, entrees, or desserts, you have come to the right place. One of my top restaurants in eastern-Pennsylvania.

It's open Wednesday through Saturday from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. My friend and I made our first visit early Friday evening. The service was good, and the food more than lived up to expectations. We started with tender, well-seasoned beef skewers, crispy buffalo wings over blue cheese, and perfectly cooked roasted cauliflower paired with a tasty tzatziki sauce and pickled onion. For my entree, I ordered the maple-glazed short rib. It was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and came with creamy sweet potato puree and roasted shallots. My friend ordered the rich, deeply flavorful bolognese. Although she received the small plate portion rather than the entree, it wasn't a major issue as we had more than enough food. There are still many items on the menu I'd like to try, and after such a strong first visit, I'll most certainly be back.

The ube ice cream had really good ube flavor, i ordered a 1 scoop "kiddie size" cup for myself and the thing was huge. One big kid. The peanut butter nutella was really good, it tasted like a big chocolate peanut butter cup. The service was fast and friendly and the prices weren't bad, they had a ton of options for toppings and flavors also. Overall: Highly recommend.

Udderly Delicious, Innovative, Fun way to enjoy fresh homemade ice cream…read more This location is a true gem nestled in the historical township of Allentown and definitely worth the stop. It really can't be compared to other chain type ice cream shops. It has a new age, innovative fun twist with the charm, and traditional satisfaction of an old-school ice cream parlor. So if you enjoy new age 'cereal bar' or 'pump & top' your own creation locations, this location is for you. The added bonus is that their ice cream is all made fresh onsite - You can't get it elsewhere. Upon walking in, you can smell and feel the love put into all the details: crafty clever sayings imprinted on the floor and decorating the eye-catching wall color and samples products. The young lady behind the counter flashes a big smile, greets you with a hello, and is ready to serve. She offered flavor taste sample since there are many options, always a plus. Then, once you place an order, it is expeditedly made. I will say made carefully to look like the Delicious Edible Art you see and expected. Opted for a two scoop waffle taco sundae, and the Mr. followed suit. TLO'S Taco Sundae ~ Peanut Butter Explosion and Salted Caramel Pretzel Ice Creams with Caramel and Peanut Butter Cup toppings with Whip and Cherries. The Mr. went for Chocolate Peanut Butter and Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream with Hot Fudge and Peanut Butter toppings with Whip and Cherries. All in all, a 5 star experience that is highly recommended. Create whatever your heart desires, and you'll be smiling through every last bite.

Located in Village West on Tilghman Street, it's open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Friday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Saturday from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. I was looking for a place to grab dinner before going to the movies, and since I hadn't had sushi in a while, I decided to give Sumo a try. Kicked things off with the crispy calamari, which was perfectly fried. It's a familiar favorite, served with a sweet chili sauce that complements it nicely. Next up were the Kani salad and seafood miso soup. While the soup was loaded with seafood, both dishes were fairly average and a bit bland. For the main event, sushi! I tried the Sumo Roll, with spicy crunchy salmon and avocado inside, topped with seared salmon, white tuna, crispy rice ball, and tobiko with the chef's special sauce. I also had the Cracked Lobster Roll, filled with spicy shrimp and lobster, sweet potato tempura, and topped with Kani salad and a Japanese cracker with garlic mango sauce. Both were fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Overall, everything was enjoyable. I'd rank Sumo somewhere in the middle among the sushi spots I've tried.

Giovanni's Pizza & restaurant is next door is owned by the husband of Mercatino's. Both places serve really good food! My bad experience there today was due to how LONG it takes to order, pay for, and get your food. WAY to long. Plus, everything is overpriced. They make you order from one of two kiosks. Kiosk ask some odd questions that force you to go to the counter to ask things like, what is pressed hot? By the time the lady had time to answer my question, my order was timed out and I had to start all over. Then my chicken cutlet ssandwich comes with broccoli rabe, but the kiosk suggested I add it and pay more for it. WHAT? The friendly lady came out from behind the counter to help me with the order. Then she asked for my email address and phone numberto complete the order. WHAT? She claimed I HAD TO input my phone number and email address to complete my order - WHAT??I We argued a minute and I said I just want to buy my sandwich which doesn't require giving out my email and phone numbeI. I finally completed my orderand asked at the counter what's next. The lady behind the counter says here's your reciept, you have to go up front to the cashier pay for it 1st. I said what the heck and she explained someone walked out, not paying so this is their procedure now. So, okay, I walked to the fron register, presented my nvoice and paid. So, again I ask what's next. The cashier hands me a paid for sticker and said go back to the counter in the rear to get your food. Okay, so I walked back to the rear counter to discover they hadn't started to assemble my sandwich yet. So, I milled aroiund with other confused looking customers waiting for their food. 20 minutes later I got my food and FINALLY left. The food is good but very expensive, the staff is friendly, but I'll never go thru that again. Their bakery is exceptional but they get it from La Dolce Vita Italian bakery in Wescoville, it's a great Italian bakery in Wescoville. Their bread comes from NY and itself is worth the trip there. The frozen section is exceptional as well. Just don't order a sandwich unless you have the day off or like me, are retired!
