Waste of time! Spent almost 3 hours for the doctor to come in so he can reschedule my appointment. Bad service in my opinion.

After seeing a billboard about Empire Vein Specialists I decided to go in for a consultation. I had…read morebeen having problems with my leg circulation for years. Some of my symptoms were swelling, cramping, itching and heaviness. At first I was very nervous but the staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining everything to me. I was treated with VenaSeal procedure on 3 of my veins. When it came down to getting the treatment done Dr. Grewal was amazing, she's very caring and took the time to answer all of my concerns. I'm still going through the healing process but so far my legs feel so much better. I will post another review when I'm done with all of my treatments. Thank you Empire Vein Specialist! In February of this year I went to Empire Vein on Riverside CA. I had 2 varicose veins on my left…read morecalf. They were not painful however, for me they were unsightly. I paid $2000 for Closure Fast (no insurance))for this one-time procedure. After a few weeks I could see a portion of the vein was still there; the vein that bother me the most! I went to my one month post-procedure appointment, the ultrasound showed the varicose vein. . NP said" it's not bad, you can barely see it". She said if I wanted to try again with injectable sclerotherapy, it would be $400. During the consultation with her, there was never a conversation that the procedure may be incomplete , and no warning that the insertion sites may cause scarring (which it did). I am so disappointed with lack of information.

My aunt has been waiting since MAY to get a vein treatment scheduled, and it is now OCTOBER. That…read moreis completely unacceptable. I finally called her insurance myself, and they told me that they have NEVER received an authorization request from this office. So we've been waiting for months for absolutely nothing to happen. I have called the office multiple times and every single time I'm just directed to the insurance person Elissa. The problem is that she NEVER answers. I have called almost every morning and afternoon, left multiple voicemails, and I have yet to receive a single call back from her. Every time I call I'm told she's "out of the office" and to leave her a voicemail. I have even gone into the office IN PERSON trying to get some kind of answer. She stays in her office and has the ladies at the front tell me to wait for her, but somehow always has an excuse. At this point, it honestly feels like I'm being avoided. What makes it even more frustrating is that it sounds like my aunt is not the only patient having this issue. If you are responsible for handling authorizations, you should actually be available to communicate with patients and, more importantly, MAKE SURE THE AUTHORIZATION IS EVEN SENT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I understand that insurance can take time, but waiting four months only to find out that the authorization was never even submitted is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to repeatedly call, leave voicemails, and physically show up just to get someone to do their job. Very disappointed and extremely frustrated with the lack of communication and accountability from her.

My problems are (1) with management; and (2) with one surgeon. I now have one good surgeon…read more 1. This office is poorly managed. I regularly spend 15 minutes on hold. I often hang up in disgust. While waiting to have surgery on my leg, I noticed the floor was dirty. So they've got all this equipment that is sterile, but there is dirt, like pieces that come off one-use surgical equipment, on the floor. When I mentioned this to the ultrasound tech, she said that the floor is never mopped between surgeries. 2. I had my gall bladder removed by a Dr. Tran. This was because I had some gall stones and was told that once the gall bladder makes some, it will make more, so the only solution was to remove the gall bladder. But after the surgery, I continued to have problems. I wound up staying at Corona Regional 3 days. Why? Dr. Tran left the gall stones behind after the operation. This gave me pancreatitis and elevated liver enzyme levels. When I tried to discuss this with Lisa, the manager, she wouldn't return my calls. I finally went to Mission Surgical and waited until someone could point her out and that she was free. I showed her the hospital work. In the end, all she would say was that, under those circumstances patients were referred to some other specialist to remove the stones! No way would they take responsibility for bad surgical technique. The only reason I went back to Mission Surgical is that my podiatrist insisted one of their surgeons is excellent. I recommend you avoid Mission Surgical unless you know your surgeon is trustworthy because its a bit of a crapshoot and management sucks.
