I wrote a review a while ago and, at the time, I gave Nuha 3 stars. I am now updating my review and giving them one star. Despite my misgivings about this place, especially rude, arrogant Chris, I decided to give them another try. My pearl necklace broke and needed to be fixed. I've had it for years and it was given to me by my mother so it has much sentimental value. Chris told me it would have to be restrung and acted as though I was inconveniencing him. He said it was a big job and it would have to be "sent out." When it was finally restrung and fixed, I paid more than I expected to but, no big deal, it was worth it to me. Well, the first time I put it on, the necklace broke!! They did a lousy job restringing it. This should not have happened. Had they done what they were supposed to do, I would've overlooked Chris's attitude, the money I spent to repair it, and the weeks I waited to get it back but this is unacceptable. I have numerous friends who have had equally unpleasant dealings with this business and none of us will be returning. It is obvious their bread and butter is selling big ticket diamond rings. I'm sure they give those customers undivided attention and Chris keeps his abrupt, nasty personality in check. So unless you're looking to buy an engagement ring, stay away from this place. read more

The owner himself spent 2 hours with me discussing various options for an engagement ring, and was not pushy at all. He taught me all about how ratings worked and showed me price options from almost every range. Once I settled he helped with the certifications and then gave me a great deal on a matching band. Most importantly, my now wife, was so happy with the ring and can't stop showing it off. He also helped fit it properly since I didn't know her exact size. I'm not sure what happened to "the customer is always right" but at NuHa Jewelers, the customer is not even respected. On Tuesday of this week, my wife dropped off my watch because the band had broken. Simple enough, right? You'd think so. When she dropped it off, the woman at the counter (who seemed so strange that my wife suspected the store was being robbed - it wasn't) told her that someone would call me by Thursday to tell me how much it would be. Thursday came and went and the call never happened. This morning (Saturday), I received a voicemail from Chris, the owner, who told me that my watch was ready to be picked up. When I came by later that day to pick it up, I was told it would be ten dollars to fix the watch, which I was more than fine to pay but I mentioned about the phone call which was promised to me and wondered why it had not occurred. The woman at the counter seemingly dismissed my question by saying she didn't know. Chris, the owner, didn't even have the courtesy to pick up his head from what he was pretending to do, but felt the need to say "have a good afternoon" in a very nasty tone. When I confronted him on his nasty attitude, he said, "What's your problem? It's only ten dollars." To which I responded, "If you think ten dollars isn't a lot, then give it back to me." Not even responding to that, he proceeded to berate me in his store (which was devoid of customers) and tell me that he knew I was annoyed that no one called me but if it had been more than $30, he would have called me. However, that's not what my wife was told. She was told that someone would call me regardless with a price. Then he went on to tell me how hard it was for him to fix the little piece that had broken in my watch band and how out of the way he had to go -- all for a service he had agreed to render for a fee. His girlfriend (who I feel sorry for) had to drive to someone else in the City and pay seven dollars. So he didn't even fix it himself for some reason. Poor Chris only made three bucks. Then, very boastfully, he told me that he was the owner of the store and that he made jewelry for $20K or $30K and the idea of fixing a watch band was so beneath him that - as of this morning - he has now hung up a sign on his front door that said NuHa is too good to fix watchbands or replace watch batteries for good, paying customers. The point isn't that no one called me on Thursday (which they didn't). Nor is the point that Chris is a tremendous dick (which he is). The point is that someone said they would call and they didn't. If they didn't offer the phone call, I would have never expected it. Now I would never again, for anything, under any circumstance, shop - or give business - to NuHa Jewelers. And neither should you. read more

I was a customer of theirs from the time they opened, but was treated very badly, and will never go back there again. In mentioning the incident to people I know, they said they have had the same experience with Nuha's rude behavior and they, too, have stopped going there and have found jewelers who appreciate their customers' business. read more
