    Jamaican jerk calzone
    Apex S.

I'm not sure why our experience was the opposite of the ones that others have described. The three stars are solely for the service and the grocery store. I believe we met the manager who was very nice to speak to. The grocery store had an eclectic mix of items and we had fun browsing and buying grocery items we had not tried before. However, our main reason for the visit, the food, was a big let down. The meat in the Peri Peri chicken sandwich was dry, chewy, and bland which was so surprising given the depth of Peri Peri spice. We also added on a Jamaican jerk chicken calzone to the order. As you can see in one of the photos, it consisted of some cheese, a few pieces of red, yellow peppers, and finally bland white cubed chicken. What it was missing was the Jamaican jerk spice. And the cover was an overly thick whole wheat roti. How terribly disappointing. The descriptions of the food and the concept are great. I hope that they will take this feedback and try to make it as flavorful as it sounds.

We ordered a butcher burger, crispy chicken hopping John and a jerk chicken. The food was amazing. Very fresh. There is ample seating. The wait period is long and the service is present. I mean the guy behind the counter is there. He is not rude, not friendly nor unfriendly. He is performing his function of taking an order and collecting money, no more, no less. Just an observation lol I would come back

I tried Nubian Markets after hearing about its recent opening last week. The space is wonderful with a grocery store, restaurant, a butchery, and plenty of seating inside and outside the store. The staff was extremely friendly and I ordered over the phone about 25 minutes before and my order was ready when I arrived. I was in a rush so I couldn't dine in or try too much, so I just got the burger. It was delicious, the mix of flavors was truly unique and made for a special experience. It's wrapped in a house made pita that is equally tasty! I will not be shocked when this burger is rated one of the best in Boston AND a staple of the halal Boston experience. It is a must try! I will be back for the rest of the menu soon! This might just be the best halal restaurant Boston has to offer. To be determined after trying the rest of the menu!

Very clean! Very well lit. Service is slow, but it's early, so i get it. I went around dinner time and they were only service sandwiches and salads, no bowls. The grab and go section was great. The food is some of the most flavorful food I've ever had. Even my picky toddler enjoyed it. Great price and good food amount. My husband said he could eat 2 off the sandwiches. The bread for the sandwiches is made fresh. Part of the reason i had to wait so long is they were waiting for the bread to bake. Overall great experience. Giving it 4 stars because the wait was too long.

I came here 4 times when in town for a conference, as this way super conveniently located to the conference center (Menino). It's open 7am-10pm daily, is always seemingly busy but always very efficient and fast to deliver orders, and has a huge amount of comfortable seating. First visit: I tried the vegan breakfast burrito ($12), a nicely designed burrito with tofu, potato, spinach, roasted red peppers, vegan cheese, and mushrooms, served with salsa on the side. Very solid burrito. The Spanish burrito I tried another day--which came with vegan meatballs of some sort--was even better. Second visit: I got an açai bowl ($9 for the small size; $12 for regular), and added vegan protein powder ($2) blended in. It came with açai blended with almond milk, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and granola. Real good and plentiful even for the small size. Third visit: just ordered a bagel with vegan cream cheese that had tomato in it, and added some spinach on top ($5.50 total). Very generous spinach portion (for $0.50!), well-toasted bagel, and an appropriate amount of cream cheese. Very tasty. Moreover, each time I visited, I ordered a double espresso ($3.50), which was excellent. Proper espresso, deep body, strong, served with sparkling water and a piece of dark chocolate.

Everything was flavorful, and the service was surprisingly fast considering how busy it was. We went back and tried a few other things, including the pumpkin smoothie and pastel de nata. Unfortunately, those were misses for me. The smoothie had a sour aftertaste, and the pastry seemed stale or like it had been sitting around for a while. The custard flavor was also pretty nonexistent aside from tasting mostly like sugar. I've had better pastel de nata elsewhere, although it's possible that's simply the flavor profile they were going for. Overall, some things were really enjoyable, while others didn't quite live up to the first visit

WELL, I was downtown early today and got to try their matcha latte. I was torn between getting hot or iced but I went with hot with oatmilk. It was so goood. You can taste the high quality of the matcha. There was a line to the door and was moving a little slow but the turn around time of service was quick once I placed my order. I sat down on the wall steps (not sure of the correct name) while I waited. I was in awe when I saw the latte art. Small cafe but has choices of seating options to sit. There's tables with chairs, a bar seating to the back and the wall steps. I noticed someone ahead of me in the line brought her own reusable tumbler and I like that the cafe supports sustainability in that way. I didn't see whether they made her drink order in the tumbler or they made it first then poured it into her tumbler. Anyway, good to know if you like to reduce waste.

You can tell they're used to customers being in awe of the aesthetic. I'm sure they're all used to being busy. One thing I appreciated is that no matter how busy the counter was, there was always someone around cleaning tables expeditiously for new visitors. I ordered their seasonal red sangria, but they have plenty of other options [(red/white) sangria, food, beer, and of course coffee].
