Okay, did what I think were around 22 sessions over a two year stretch and my tattoo was still about 90% there. I understand that lots of colors make removal a lot more difficult but I think that the results should have been much better. The money isn't even the issue. It's the time to drive to Suffern and the excruciating pain I endured for very little results. After my final session the staff even suggested I look into going somewhere that has a different kind of laser that offers better results on colors. This should have been explained to me before I signed up. In the end I decided to have it covered up rather than wasting additional time, money and aggravation. Maybe you should too. read more

Bought a Groupon for two ipl facials. Burned my face. Promised me a refund (didn't use the second one) and asked me to take review down. I just noticed I was refunded last week after waiting a month and more than two months since my facial. Don't recommend this place. My face looks much worse than it did before. Do NOT get laser tattoo removal here. I have had 11 sessions and my tattoo is BARELY faded. Mind you, my tattoo is black, which is the easiest color to remove. Nicole is a nice girl but I don't know if it's the machine or what, but at the rate it fades my tattoo, I would be going there for YEARS. After 11 sessions my tattoo looks almost the same as the day I started. I went to another facility and after just one session with them my tattoo is already more faded than after 11 at Nu Skin. The laser used at Nu Skin doesn't even break the skin (which it is supposed to). Also, aside from the laser removal being less than adequate, this place is VERY pushy about giving tips. Tips are supposed to be optional, NOT required. The very first time I ever went here they asked me if they should include a tip when they charged my card or if I would be tipping separately. They also told me if I need cash for the tip to use the ATM. I've never been so pressured to leave a tip. Mind you, I tip EVERY TIME I come for a session. $20 x 11 sessions is an extra $220 down the drain. It's no wonder they offer groupons for "unlimited tattoo removal sessions for two years." I would be going here for YEARS before any progress would be made on my tattoo. Like I said, Nicole is nice, but the combined pressure of the lousy results and the pressure for tipping is enough to make me never go back. There goes my money down the toilet. read more

I started going to Nuskin over two years ago for laser hair removal after a bad experience with a NJ facility. Not only are the costs much lower at Nuskin, because of the difference in NY and NJ laws, but the ladies who work at Nuskin are far more professional than the previous place I went to. I have been treated by Trish, AnnMarie, Dina and Nicole...all do a fantastic job. I like that the center has evening and weekend hours so I can always fit it into my busy schedule. The new office is very nice with big treatment rooms. My hair is very dark and coarse and I have light skin which makes me the perfect candidate for the Candela laser they use. They do have other lasers for different skin types. People need to be realistic about the results they expect. Even after 12 treatments in some areas, I still have to shave once in a while or go in for a touch-up treatment, but what does come back is much thinner and hardly noticeable. Before laser hair removal, I never had such smooth skin and always had to worry about razor burn or stubble. I had to shave every single day, sometimes twice a day in the summer. I went to Nu-Skin for Laser Hair Removal: My technician Nicole was great, though she is not there anymore. Pricing was average if you bought their packages on sale. I just wanted to chime in that results take a *long time* to achieve and only last a short time. I started in October 2015 and went regularly until March 2018. At that point I had finished a few packages and was happy with my smooth legs and underarms. Fast forward to today, March 2019, and my hair is growing back full force. read more

The technicians are awesome and friendly but there's only two. My friends and I have purchased their packages but having to book treatments months in advance has been very difficult. You can't go with a tan and have to be consistent or it won't be as effective, yet need to schedule based on limited availability/hours. Buying a package and not being able to use it for over a month makes no sense. Although online scheduling is makes booking an app. easy it's no help if they are completely booked for the next two months and have to keep checking in. As of today 10/13 you can't get an afternoon app. until December, and the December calendar isn't even open yet for scheduling. Hopefully they hire some more technicians so they can accommodate clientele. read more

My coworker recommended this place to me and I bought a great deal on Groupon. I've been going for underarm laser hair removal since June 2012 and I've had great results. The staff is friendly and professional. Dina is super sweet and takes time to answer all my questions. The place is extremely clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. It is easy to find and has convenient parking in the back. They often have some great deals/specials on their website. I live in Manhattan and although I can find laser hair removal places all over the city, I still choose to go all the way to Suffern! I strongly recommend this place. I am quite a fan of Nu-Skin and have been for some time. I initially came here through a groupon offer for eyelash extensions. My technician, Nicole, always took me on time (if not earlier) and was professional, sanitary, and friendly. The place itself is well kept, up to date, and welcoming. I frequented Nu-Skin for my eyelashes for a while, until I had to cut back on some of my more frivolous expenses ;) Now, I am back, but for a difference service. Once again, through the wonderful groupon experience. This time I opted for laser hair removal treatments. The appointment I made for my consultation also ended up being my first treatment. Not to worry, the receptionist is very informative when you make your initial appointment and will tell you everything you need to do prior to your first visit. Everything from paperwork to prepping the area. I was told that I would need to use the laser that is for darker skinned people due to my olive complexion. My technician informed me that this one tends to be slightly more "uncomfortable." Let me just say, yes. HO-LY SHIT! This is painful people, no if ans or buts about it. I consider myself to have a VERY high pain tolerance, but this was surprisingly beyond what I had prepared myself for. I'm sure the fact that I had it done on such a sensitive area did not help, but, seriously, OUCH! Thankfully my technician was very sweet and patient with me, and reassured me that we can take as many breaks as needed. (Where the hair is more densely packed, the more painful it is, hence more breaks during these areas). I was given a stress ball to squeeze and goggles to wear, as did the technician. The only thing i did notice, which I have to note is that she touched her hair several times and then the treatment area (yes she was wearing gloves) but still, knowing what I know from so many medical professionals, that's a big no no. Anyway, yes I survived my first treatment. Went back for a second (just as painful) with Nicole, who was great to see after so long, and have scheduled my third appointment. I will say that my hair growth has come to a halt after just the second treatment, but I don't want to jump the gun so I will do at least 6 or 7 out of the 8 total that I purchased. Does this service hurt like a b*tch? YES! Ya heard it here first!! However, I would recommend that anyone thinking of doing it, does it, because it is definitely worth it. Prices are definitely reasonable for their services (definitely way better than many places in Jersey), and everyone is pleasant, knowledgeable, and for the most part sanitary (minus that isolated slip up). I first went to Nu Skin 6 years ago when I was attending Ramapo College. It was near school and very affordable as compared to most other laser hair removal places. They had a one room operation out of a chiropractors office, but they were so sweet, and patient, and professional it was a wonderful experience. I purchased 6 laser hair removal sessions, but timed it all wrong and wound up graduating long before I was able to use them all. I only went to two sessions and then moved to NYC and was not willing to make the hour drive to finish out my sessions. Even with just the two sessions I completed, my hair became so fine and thin and light that I could shave with ease and it was so much easier to deal with. No more red bumps and ingrown hairs.This lasted for YEARS, until I got pregnant and I guess a fresh batch of hormones woke my dead follicles! So I just purchased another package (I assumed my old one had expired, but I am please to informed that it didn't so I have 4 more sessions left over from 6 years ago!) and started going again. They have grown so much, they now have their own location (not inside a doctors office) and it is so bright and clean and welcoming. I got there 30 minutes early and had to wait about 5-10 minutes while they finished up the lady before me and then I was seen. I did a medium area and a small area and I was in and out in 2-3 minutes TOPS! I was in my car on my way home by 6:45pm, which was actually the time my appointment was supposed to START. I love this place and the staff so much, that driving 40 minutes doesn't even phase me. The price is still SO much cheaper than anything reputable by me. The Process isn't nearly as painful as some make it seem. I would liken it to MILD tattoo pain. The smell of burning hair is honestly more uncomfortable than the "pain." I wouldn't even classify it as "pain" more like discomfort. But I will say I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. Some advice, you cannot treat an area that is TAN IN ANY WAY. If you lie and say its not tan and they treat the area, you risk severe burns. I had a friend go to a very SHADY place (NOT NU-SKIN) and they didn't ask if she was tanned, they just treated her stomach and she got 3rd degree burns and is now involved in a law suit. Also cannot get laser hair removal if you are on antibiotics or certain other photosensitive drugs. read more

I was a client here for about a year. I went in for five sessions (I only missed one because I lost my car keys and could not make it on time). I found it to be EXCRUTIATINGLY painful which was surprising to me as I have several large tattoos that took hours to complete. Additionally, about two-three weeks after every session my hair growth would return to normal. Despite going for five sessions, the growth was never reduced. So I moved back to my hometown Los Angeles and I found another laser center. When the technician saw that I was holding my breath and was in pain. She let me breath. She was so sweet I explained to her my prior experience and she couldn't believe how rude the other technician was. She even mentioned like it's okay you can tell me to give you a break. I also like to mention that because I was in pain she would do 3-6 zaps then break so I could get my composure. Where as Nicole just kept zapping away I remember how fast she was going not even considering my feelings. When you walk in, and get the sales pitch, and see the photos you think "wow, this place is great"...a lot of "my sister had this done and now look at her" or other "this is perfect for you and you will love the results.". Had Ultherapy and the results were zero. Pushed to have botox, then other therapies, and then pushed to buy a skin care line NERIUM which turned out to be a pyramid scheme. I have been a client of this facility for 2 years and somehow still have hair on the treated areas. I understand that this service takes time and multiple treatments. However, after spending $4,000 it is disheartening that my desired results have not been achieved. Further more my experiences with the staff have been one lack of communication after another. I also feel that it is unprofessional to text message customers because of how they may be ill interpreted. booked my first session of 6 with Trish after a groupon and recommedation from a co worker for a brazilian laser hair removal treatment and i am extremely happy with the treatment and Trish. the laser itself hurt alot less than i imagined. not only do you get a flash of cool spray before the laser hits you but trish works with a baby wipe to cool of the area further. the consultaion and treatment last about 30 minutes total. i felt like i had a little sunburn for about an hr after the appt, but no other side affect. my next appt was scheduled before i left the first one. i even added on anther area. read more
