Visited there for a post surgical lymphatic massage. Never again! Very unprofessional. Indicated she did not like my "energy. " Said that it was negative and that it would not work for HER . But she wasn't paying me. I was paying her. so when was this supposed to be all about her? She said this twice. I said very little and probably was a little nervous because I was one week post surgery. Other than that, I'm not sure how she determined that I had "negative" or "positive" energy. It was obvious she did not know much about what she was supposed to be doing, and I judged this based on my 34 years in the medical profession which has provided me with extensive knowledge of the lymphatic system. 25 minute massage /charged $110 and wanted to tip afterwards. She was all worried about how softly the door was allowed to close even though she did not have another client. Not very welcoming or accommodating at all. Save your money! If I were her, I would be embarrassed. read more

What a great way to slip out of the rainy day gloom this weekend! I came in brain dead after an exam with tense back and shoulders and walked out warm, relaxed, and not feeling like I was 90-something years old-- hooray! :) The place is a suite room inside a big building (so you'll have to go inside and take the elevator or stairs up), and the room is a cozy, candle-lit set up for one. There's a form to fill out where you want the focuses to be (be it legs, upper back, etc.), but don't worry-- she covers everything anyways! Then up with the trance-y tribal / nature / hippie music from the laptop, and Brenda (hopefully I remember her name correctly, sorry if not!) knows what she's doing-- she teased out knots I never knew existed~ I like how she massaged my arms and legs while I was on my tummy and again when I flipped to my back. And that neck massage.. *shiver* yesssss :D she will ask how the pressure is, and you can tell her to change it any time. A warning-- you'll get a head massage (which is good) but her hands will be oily from the massage oil (not so good)~ it didn't look like I went and greased me 'do, but my hair felt kind of yucky for the afternoon! She pats off the oil off your body, so no worries for that. For those edging away from massages due to modesty reasons, I felt very comfortable and safe (and of course, relaxed), since she made sure everything was respectfully covered :) I used a Groupon steal deal ($30 for their usual $85 one hour massage), but they do have random specials. $85 is way too pricey for a student like me, and you can probably find a fancier place with that. I can't easily say this was the best massage I've ever had, but I was happy with the groupon deal. But if you want to splurge a bit, 1 hour deep and Swedish tissue massages are $65 until December '15, so what are you waiting for?? Go and take a one hour mini vacation to a world of relaxation and zen :D read more

The words I would use to describe Brenda: magic! Brilliant! Kindred spirit. I don't actually live in Texas but when I come to visit my family, this is the lady I want to see. I have old whiplash injuries and herniated discs so when I go for massages it is often with quite a bit of apprehension and fear of pain but hoping it will help me feel better in the long run. But with Brenda it is absolute bliss. Housed inside an unassuming office building, is a magical little haven. Close your eyes and you'll feel like you're on a tropical island being gently beaten by the waves in the sunshine. She offers the perfect balance of pressure without pain and so far the two massages I have received from this woman have been therapuedic to my muscles as well as my soul. She's simply divine. After much anticipation to receive a massage from Brenda, I regret to say that the quality of service was poor. I purchased two first time massages and corresponded with her via social media to ensure that my friend would be able to get a massage with me. She said she would find another massage therapist to accommodate us. I had not heard anything from Brenda all week. The morning of my scheduled massage, I had to reach out to her and asked if we were good. She said she had just confirmed another massage therapist that morning. I was disappointed in her lack of correspondence, even if she hadn't gotten another therapist yet, I would have at least liked to know that she was working on it, instead of me having to reach out to her. She then asked me if I had a printer available to print out the paper work ahead of time. I told her I did and once again never heard back from her. We arrived at Brenda's studio, were filling out the paperwork when we noticed the second massage therapist was a male. My friend expressed that she preferred a female massage therapist. Instead of Brenda simply respecting her preference she suggested several options to try and make it work and repeatedly stated that he was a great massage therapist, which was not the point. She then stated that she didn't know we had a preference, to which I replied, she never corresponded with me to follow up to ask me anything. Hesitant to continue, we decided to reschedule. I informed Brenda and she charged me a $20 rescheduling fee, even though she admitted to poor communication on her part. She went on to say that she was on vacation when I scheduled my massage and that is why it took her longer to get another therapist and provide better service to me. Her being on vacation was a piss poor excuse and had Nothing to do with me. The only reason I did not contest the $20 "rescheduling fee" is because I felt bad for the massage therapist who seemed to be caught in the middle of everything. Even though I was disappointed and frustrated I decided that I was going to reschedule and not cancel. I sincerely wanted to support Brenda's business and thought that the massage would at least make up for all of the inconveniences. Boy was I wrong! When I arrived a week later her immediate demeanor was unpleasant. It was obvious she was irritated and wanted to get it over with. She barely made eye contact when she spoke (more like mumbled) to me. She offered us water initially and never brought it until the very end of the massage. The massage she gave was WEAK! I asked for medium pressure for a Sports Massage. It felt like she was barely doing anything. When the time was up, she immediately turned the lights on, told us we could get dressed and walked out. I put my clothes on and remembered the promotion for first timers included hot stones. When I asked her about it her response was: " what? Where did you see that? Oh I didn't do the hot stones. The machine was off when I started....." She did not apologize or offer anything to make up for it, she just did not care. What made it so bad is that the other massage therapist for my friend was much more pleasant and professional than she was. My friend was utterly pleased with her massage. Her massage therapist advised us to drink lots of water, gave feedback on where my friend was most tense, thanked us for coming and told us to have a nice day. Brenda did none of that. The only satisfaction I got was knowing that my friend received a great massage. I got robbed. Brenda did not seem to have any sense of obligation to provide me with adequate service. She needs to be held responsible for her actions and her attitude. read more
