Perched at the top of a small street in a super residential part of the city, this hotel has the…read moreadvantage of providing a great deal of calm and quiet in an ordinarily loud and bustling city. The hotel looks much like the other buildings in the area, large homes in pastel colors that have an air of faded glamor. The entrance is pretty well done and there are two lovely terraces where you can sip your Spritz listening to the birds chirp while surfing the web on the free Wifi connection. The rooms are less charming, but are functional and spacious. I would have preferred a less springy bed and a full-length mirror, but all in all it was a really convenient, tranquil stay in a super authentic part of town. I didn't take the bus into the center since I was being escorted around by a local (thanks Valeria I) but I hear that it's pretty conveniently located.

I remember my stay here like it was yesterday. I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 10…read moredays in the spring of 2010. The staff was so wonderful to us. I even called a few times from the states to them to ensure we had service from the airport and just general questions. They were more then happy to assist with all of our questions and make sure we had transportation arranged. We arrived on a saturday afternoon and were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. We were promplty filled in on what was happening the next day and that we may want to avoid the city. The Rome marathon was the next day. We were impressed with the size of the room and bathroom. It was quite large and nicely furnished with a king size bed, large desk and dresser area some nice wing back chairs and plenty of light from a large window . Down stairs in the basement was the breakfast room, which every morning was filled with all sorts of interesting people and quiet an extensive breakfast. This was included in our room rate. A nice spread of fresh juices, cereals, coffee, tea, pasteries and of course Ham and Cheese. We were very close to many things and got to see normal life in Italy rather then everything touristy. It's about a 15 min bus ride to downtown Rome, but in such a nice area itself. It is situated up on a hill so to get to all the things around it, you take a rather large flight of stairs. The front desk staff was also very helpful when asked about things for day trips and what bus to take and other things we had no idea where to even begin to figure out. If I ever return as I hope to, I will certainly make it a point to stay here again.

I would've given this place 4 stars because it's modern, clean, moderate amount of space, helpful…read morestaff, free breakfast and free parking. BUT it's location is a bit sketchy at night, the free parking lot is least to be desired however they do have a garage parking for €5 per night (I've already spent enough on this trip, I tried saving anyway I can). The free breakfast well, do yourself a favor, skip it. They do make you free and fresh espresso, cappuccinos so kudos for that. But the breakfast itself... Eggs were so weird, I think it's powdered eggs, undercooked bacon (if and when they had any), canned fruits, and very little selection of food items. So the good parts? Yes, there are... Modern decor, spacious (for an Italian hotel) rooms, clean, comfy beds (for Italian standard). There is a supermarket Auschan next door but they don't sell cooked food, go here if you want to buy bottled water, snacks, chocolates, Any grocery items. Look for a place called Da Marco for the best pizza in Rome =). TIP: if you plan to stay here, DO NOT book your hotel via 3rd party sites, for some reason they tack on additional charges of about €30 more. Go directly on the HI site. Also, upon check out, you will be charged an additional €6 per person for some "Rome tax" this is on top of what you already paid for the room. Another tip: utilize their free parking, just take all your belongings with you. Enjoy!

First off the management staff is horrible, online it's advertised as a standard bed but the…read morereality of it is that is a twin size bed, and for a person that's almost 6 feet tall doesn't work. The air conditioning doesn't work, when we reported the problem all they had to say was that the whole building was the same way. We purchase food after the bar was closed granted we were not expecting a full bar menu but the warmed up some frozen dinner in the microwave and when we took it to the room it was still frozen inside. Impossible to eat. I would not recommend this place to no one. There are 2 other hotels next door please skip this one.
