Nevertheless he wanted me to wait on hold again. Of course I refused and he asked me to call back Monday. I told him that I will never call back and I don't need to deal with a company that has such failing process in communication. He interrupted me ( playing victim) claiming that if I am going to yell at him - which I wasn't - he will hang up and before giving me chance to respond he hung up on me. They are knowledgeable, and if they don't know they would send you to another person who does. I've never had to wait longer than 1 min on hold, and no hang ups or rude people. Although you can deal with one specific agent, it's not really needed as everyone there can help and they are just as helpful, if not better. All the dealings I had with them, including claiming something, asking questions, making changes to the account, was straightfoward and I can understand. Makes me a happy camper :) Their rates was the cheapest for me at the time when I was getting my insurance. They have an include First Time Accident Forgiveness, which really comes in handy. Also all the paperwork and forms and things can easily be found online and most things are done electronically. You can also get Aeroplan points from every payment! I fully recommend them, if the rate works for you.

A Difficult Reality for Vulnerable Claimants…read more I'm sharing this for anyone who may one day have to navigate a large insurance claim while also dealing with stress, trauma, or mental health challenges. I experienced a total loss due to a fire and submitted a significant claim. I made every effort to cooperate--providing documentation, responding to requests, and even submitting additional information and corrections when asked. Despite this, my claim was ultimately denied. What I want others to understand is not just the outcome, but the process. Managing a claim of this size is extremely complex. It requires organization, accuracy, and emotional resilience--things that can be very difficult if you are already struggling. Over several months, I spent hundreds of hours trying to meet expectations and support my claim. The investigation process felt overwhelming and, at times, intimidating. As someone managing PTSD, the pressure and scrutiny had a serious impact on my mental health. At one point, the stress became so significant that I required psychiatric care. I recognize that insurance companies operate within policies and procedures. However, my experience felt highly impersonal. I often felt like I was being assessed as a file rather than as a person going through a loss. For those who are vulnerable or managing health challenges, I would strongly caution: do not go through a large claim process alone. Seek support early--whether legal, professional, or personal. This experience changed how I view insurance. When choosing a provider, it may be worth considering not just cost or coverage, but the level of support and human connection available when things go wrong. I am sharing this so others can be better prepared than I was.
