Novelli is an excellent little shop. The staff know their amazing pen selection very well and can recommend what is best for you. I wanted to purchase an Italian made pen on my trip so they showed me fountain pens from Aurora, Pineider, Montegrappa and Visconti. Their pens are also very reasonably priced compared to home(San Francisco) when the VAT is removed. Since Novelli is a ST Dupont dealer for pens they also carry a large range of Ligne 2 lighters. In the second room they have a decent sized floor humidor with Cuban cigars. This was convenient because I was able to purchase a couple of Partagas Serie P's since the shelves were empty at Fincatos LCDH which is a few blocks away.

They need to update their hours. Place was closed an hour and a half before listed. Wish I could have gone inside but they are closed Sundays and I leave Sunday night. Sad. Huge fountain pen collector. read more

Not very friendly service & the selection was mediocre. Some Romeo y Juliet's, H.Uppman, lots of Punch a few Partagas but a bit pricey around $20 or $30 each. The € was a but stronger a couple weeks ago, so you can probably now get a regular sized corona for about $15-$20 or so. Oh, & they carry a lot of the small thin Cubans that are affordable but nothing worth buying. They will sell you a little box making you think it's thicker than it is. Hmmmm. Anyway, don't buy a cigar unless you can see the size of it. If it's 3 or 5 in a little sealed box it's a cigarillo. Blech. You can get thin ones cheaper at Rome airport but who wants those anyway!? The other place around the way & within walking distance (Fincato) was way better both service & selection wise. Ciao. read more

A neighborhood tobacco store that has a nice selection of Fountain Pens, Lighters and Pipes. They have most of the tobacco products you might need, although the selection of Cigars and Pipe Tobaccos is better at FINCATO across town. Nice shop! read more

While Cuban cigars are still very tough to find in Italy and most European countries the staff was nice and told me to check back in the mornings when they get shipments. Unfortunately I was unable to do this with my travel schedule. I did get some of my go to Plasencia cigars for a reasonable price. I also was able to get some Italian cigars to try and take home to friends. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. Even took the time to help my wife and I find a local restaurant for lunch which was another amazing recommendation...will be reviewed separately. In short they have a selection of cigars similar to what I would find in the U.S. although small inventory compared to the cigar shops I'm used to in the U.S. Excited to try the Italian cigars. The selection was limited, but in the world of Cuban cigars, it usually is, BLAME CHINA! They take up 40% of the market now. The prices are reasonable on a global scale, but fixed within the country of Italy by the state. A lot of pictures will show that they have a lounge, however, the lounge is not an operation for various logistical and regulatory reasons. The folks here are very nice and knowledgeable, so I would definitely make this a stop while in Rome.

Massimo is carrying on his fathers legacy of over 60 years of pipe making…read more massimo is in the back making pipes while his mother and Giorgio sit on plus leather couches in the showroom. He is so passionate about his craft he even got my wife interested in the art that is pipe making. It made my purchases that much easier. His pipes are beautiful and one of a kind. He also has every level from the basic entry level basket pipe to beautiful pieces you wouldnt even want to smoke. I am so happy i stumbled upon his shop.
