If you're wandering the streets of Rome of search for some decent leather-made gifts and finding nothing but tourist-centered shops flinging the same mediocre bags and tchotchkes, find your way to Campo Marzio! I basically spent my entire souvenir budget and more in this one modest shop on Via Campo Marzio, originally founded in this very location 90 years ago, in 1933. I was instantly drawn in by the vivid bright colors, and the quality of the work is immediately noticeable while also very reasonably priced. You can tell they take pride in what they produce, the attention to detail to the bags, notebooks, pens - everything is thoughtfully and delightfully designed. One thing I definitely appreciate with their bags is the high quality of their zippers and tags which are smooth and sturdy. These things are clearly meant to last. Giulia was incredibly helpful and patient with me (she also speaks great English). She helped me ship my bags back to California and got all my VAT tax forms together for my refund (the Tax Refund office is conveniently about 2 blocks away). Next time I'm in Rome, if I can save up enough in advance, I'll have a "Campo Marzio" line in my vacation budget. read more

I purchased a bag here a couple of years ago and was told it was quality leather but it is not. After five years of being stored in its dust bag in a closet and used less than ten times total, the bag is falling apart. What is clearly fake leather is pealing away from the sides and is basically trash. I should have known better but allowed myself to be talked into believing the sales person. I'm in love with mini fountain pens. I don't use the pens offered at work and I don't let anyone use my pens. I stumbled upon this brand on Mercari buying a used mini fountain pen. Well I had to order an identical matching one. I took to the internet and found this company was all the way in Italy. So I placed my order for just one later regretting that I should have ordered 5 of them. The shipping was so fast, I thought well for $20 it's probably due to shipping overseas. However, I ordered Monday 6/29 and it arrived in California on 7/2. My goodness that was fast and then I was completely taken back again when I opened it. As I slid it open I saw an extra pen. I thought well I didn't order another pen. So I examine this tiny pocket ball point pen and it had my name engraved!!! I started screaming all over the house. I was shopping at Easton Town Center and bought one of their purses. Horrible quality. After just a few months the leather on the strap started coming apart. I had only been using the purse for 4 months. At first, I cut the loose pieces off, but it just kept coming apart. So embarrassed to walk around with a purse that looks so cheap.
