I visited over the holidays looking for their famous turtle chocolate covered apricots. The service is friendly but a little unorganized. I called ahead to order a few boxes and was told just to show up, however they only had a few at the stand and I cleared them out. The fruit is a little overpriced but worth the splurge, specially if you're trying to impress a friend, or your palate (wink). The driveway is a narrow and parking limited. What a wonderful family owned farm! The produce makes for great healthy gifts as opposed to getting other sugary unhealthy treats. This location has been around 100 years! Who knew? Picked up fresh Red Haven peaches today at the orchard. Woohoo, summer fruit is best purchased at Novakovich!! Take a slow drive up the driveway with the windows down to the Novakovich Farm stand making sure to keep your eyes on the road as you inhale the sweet fragrance of the stone fruit trees. (This is a narrow driveway hence the recommended slow drive up to the farm stand.) Then, drive counter clockwise around the orange tree so you can park close to the fence to drive back to the main road after making your purchase. (Bring reuseable bags if you plan on making a large purchase...which you probably will. (Hint! Hint!) Enjoy your fruit in a matter of days so you can return more than once a week. read more

Their fruit might be good. Someone recommend it to us and I checked their website. The language of the banner on it declaring "we offer no u-pick" with a lot of "no" repeated and then a "period" is extremely uninviting, bordering rude and arrogant. I was not even planning to or know of "u-pick" services. It says a lot about how they look at their customers. We received a box of these for Christmas from my husband's ex wife (of all people, but she is sweet..). Man o man...these may be my new favorite treat. They are soft dried apricot with caramel and a walnut, mostly dipped in chocolate. The texture of this combo of ingredients is a winner. Just picked up some peaches and nectarines. They were so delicious. The peaches were sweet and juicy and the nectarines, the tiny ones, were like candy. I have never had such fresh and tasty fruit. So much better than the farmer's market. And the setting is so sweet, just like shopping when my grandmother was alive. One bit of advice, please have sanitizer available and ask customers to clean hands before letting us handle the tomatoes and veggies outside. Can't wait to get more peaches! read more

Incredibly delicious chocolate-dipped apricots! I received these as a gift and they were so good, I ate them all despite intending to share them with my sister. :) (I made up for it today and bought her a box that she won't have to share with me!) This orchard truly feels like a little hidden spot tucked away from the rest of the crazy Silicon Valley. The family is also really warm and wonderful - we had a great conversation about a variety of topics! Ok, so some tips. - this is totally a small family-owned business so they have to manage their personal stuff along with business hours so I just called a day ahead to figure out their hours the next day. They were super nice! - I am super excited about the fresh fruits this summer. I asked about a rough schedule and he told me: cherries in May (but you should probably call ahead), peaches in June (my memory is terrible so, again, call ahead) through August. - these phenomenal chocolate-dipped apricots might go through around Mother's Day since it will get too hot after that. (so call ahead so you are not disappointed) They had some other things I want to go back and purchase like Almond Butter, cashews and regular dried fruit. Delish! Definitely stop in. read more

This place feels like it's decades behind the rest of the Silicon Valley, which, when locally grown apricots taste as good as theirs do, is a great thing. You'll make a hard turn (watch for signage along Fruitvale and slow way down) into a long, single-lane road past their fruit trees. The farmstand is at the end of it and sells preserves, dried apricots, gift boxes, and really, really lovely chocolate covered apricots. Forget the impossibly leathery, fuzzy dried apricots that come in trail mix; these are soft, tart, picked-at-peak apricots drenched in a coat of melty milk chocolate. ($10 for half a pound in a gift box; I pick some up every year as Christmas presents for people I like.) I think they have fresh produce during the summer as well, but I come for the chocolate covered apricots. Service is friendly and conversational; plaid flannel shirts and woodsmoke are a given. You may have to ring the bell for service if the family is out and about, well, farming. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for someone to show up. Oh -- and despite the rustic look of their farm stand, they accept credit cards. Win! I love this place. I hope it will continue to thrive in the midst of the Silicon Valley, because it would be such a shame to pave over those apricot orchards just to put up more million dollar homes. read more

Just an outstanding family owned orchard in the heart of Saratoga. Right now it is bing cherry season, and theirs are the best, period! Trust me on this one. The BEST! Has dried fruits such has apricot and peaches that are soft but they are expensive. They also have cute shaped like turtle chocolate and apricot. The place really needs to be cleaned up/touch up to look better to attract customers. The place is hard to find though. They need signs at the entrance. read more

It goes without saying that these folks make the best treats on the planet! What I want to talk about here is their customer service. First of all, when you call about an order, a real person answers; I almost didn't know how to act! I happened to mention I hoped to receive my order soon as I was leaving town in the next couple of days, and bam, package delivered the very next day. Their operation is very homespun, reminiscent of bygone days when authentic courtesy and helpfulness were the norm for small family businesses. It's fun to visit the farm stand, but during the holidays do yourself a favor and call in your order ahead. This time of year they are making and packing their extraordinary goodies as fast as they can, and they do run out sometimes from one day to the next. We live an hour's drive from the orchard and it's nice to know our stuff will be ready for us when we come over. But don't drag your feet - by March or April, everything's sold out! We dearly hope the next generation of Novakovic family will continue to run this business in the future; it's a very special place and we look forward to their goodies every year. read more

Just had the most pleasant experience ordering and purchasing some of their AMAZING apricot turtles. Called to see if they were going to be making any for Mother's Day and luckily, because of the cooler weather this year, they said yes. Placed and order and left my phone number. The next day, as promised, they called and had my order ready to go. The gentlemen that helped me at their store was so nice; very friendly and genuinely happy to meet me. It was my first time visiting Novakovich Orchards but definitely not my last. this orchard, in the middle of saratoga, has the BEST peaches to be found anywhere. peaches are picked ripe off the trees, something that is hard to find. george also participates in a co-op- he gets dry farmed tomatoes from watsonville that are delicious, among other produce. family owned business for several generations, and they have no plans to sell the property. considering what it is worth, I admire them for doing that. support your local farmers!! read more

Just picked up peaches, the last of the season, and they're fantastic! Ripened on the tree, and they taste like none you'll buy in a store. We also got some tomatoes which were also vine-ripened and delicious. I love this place - it's always a treat to visit, and it brings you back several decades, back to when Santa Clara Valley's farming era. This stand has been open since 1923!
