My 4 yr. old daughter and I both participated in open gym, and we had the time of our lives! As a former breakdancer, I have always been interested in trying aerial dance. This was my first time trying it and it was great just like I thought it would be. There were a lot of talented people using the facility and they were quite impressive. The space was huge and spread out. Oh..and the trampoline made my heart jump outta my chest lol. I have never used a trampoline with so much bounce! I felt like I could fly and defy gravity. I saw other people use it and they were able to use it to run up the wall super high and would dance while doing so reminding me of that scene from the 80s movie Breakin' where they danced on the walls. Besides gymnasts, there were aerialists, breakdancers (how I found out about the place, by word-of-mouth), martial arts trickers (acrobats) and everything else you can imagine. We didn't feel rushed, I believe we were there for almost 5 hours! It was worth every bit of effort and energy it took for me to drive from Clearwater (near Tampa area) to Fort Lauderdale. If we lived in the area we would Definitely be regulars here. I am a bit surprised at the negative reviews here but if you check out the Facebook page you might see something closer to what it is actually like. I am legit, because you can see my "check-in" here accessed by my GPS and that I am Yelp Elite (with my identity verified by Yelp community managers by attending Yelp Elite events). I said all that because I always question if a review is legit if it seems too good to be true. At the end of the day, we (my 4 yr. old and I) had the time of our lives here! I am very involved in making decisions for my granddaughter, London. She was bored at her school's aftercare. Her parents decided to try Nova gymnastics. I picked her up on her first day. The staff knew it was her first day, and offered to give me a tour. I thought that was extremely nice of them being that they could tell I'm just the grandmother. My friend was with me who is a retired educator and has a masters in child education. I always value his opinion. Besides being very accommodating, I noticed that the school is extremely clean. Cleanliness, especially in a daycare is extremely important. So London is picked up from kindergarten at 2:20 and gets to Nova in about 10 minutes. She has a snack that we pack and starts gymnastics from 3-4. We send a clean outfit in her school bookbag, daily. After gymnastics, they do homework and then they can go into an arts and craft area and paint or draw. There is also a computer room, where the child can go play on an Ipad or a computer. And there are also computer games the kids can play together. This was her first week. We feel as a family $400 for the month is reasonable. We are happy with the aftercare program, thus far. read more

Sophie Broken Arm Its a shame to trust people with our kids and this is how they act in an emergency. Don't trust them with your kids. I arrived at Nova Gymnastics at 6:45pm. I started filling out the paper work to reregister sarah for the upcoming term. Sophia came up to me crying, her arm was all red, and she had a foam cup with ice in it that she has been rubbing on her arm. I asked her what happened and she said she fell on a red mat that had wood under it and hurt her arm. I asked her, who was with her, who was watching her? she said nobody, and she was crying. There was no one at the front desk, so i went to the back by the snack bar and there was four employees in the snack area. I yelled at them and said what happened to sophia, and why isnt anyone with her? Why is she just walking around crying with ice on her arm? They said, oh we dont know, let me go get a coach. I told sohpia to sit down and i went to get her shoes, when I came back a woman with black hair was asking sophie if her arm hurt, if she was okay, and if she could move her arm. She then said she was going get something secure so her arm wouldnt move around. So then my other daughter sarah came up to us around the same time and I asked sarah what happened. She said "I came back from the bathroom and I saw sophie was crying with coach mike. Coach mike was telling her to sit down for a little bit and rest. And then he told me to take sophie to get ice and i went to the snackbar and no one was paying attention when I was trying to talk to them and they were talking to each other. One of the coaches saw sophie was crying so he gave her some ice and left. And then I told sophie to sit on the coach and put ice on her arm and then mommy came in." When the lady with the black hair(The owner) went to get a sling I asked the big blonde lady that works there, where the closest emergency room or urgent care was, she told me there was one south on university drive. I took sophie to the urgent care, she got x-rays and we found out her arm has a fracture. I called the school when we got back from the urgent care and first talked to luis the manager, I told him how upset I was that sophie was just left to walk around crying by herself with a broken arm. He then passed me to the owner Andrea who lied and said there was someone with sophie and that she thought she was fine because she (sophia) wasnt crying that much. I told her she was not a doctor and as soon as sophia got hurt, they should have assessed sophias injury, brought her out and sat her down, had one of the coaches or employees sit with her call me immediately. Her response was, "she wasnt crying that much." We got into an argument because of her lack of empathy and i told her I would be contacting an attorney and hung up. .. read more

I called to see if they were still in business with hopes of leaving a message and when someone picked up they rudely told me that I shouldn't call at a late hour. Well, not only will I never call they will never get my business and I will tell many other people of my experience with the rude people of the business. If they're this rude over the phone I can only imagine how rude they are in person. Money cannot buy class or manners. read more

As of eight months ago, I enrolled at nova gyms parkour class. My experience was nothing short of superb! The instructors are not only knowledgable, but extremely friendly. Wow, what an awesome experience. My granddaughter is 4 years old with almost crippling shyness. Her mother and myself thought gymnastics would be a "nice" activity for her to try...it took Suzy about 10 minutes to loosen up and then it was game on!! Her instructor was simply amazing. She was kind, reassuring, and supportive towards my granddaughter without allowing disruption to her class or other students. The only reason that I am giving this establishment one star is because it will not allow me to go lower. I have had a quite discouraging experience, and wouldn't recommend this gym for anyone above the age of 18. I took a private lesson with a coach at this gym at the cost of $50 for 1 hour. The coach was completely disengaged and a terrible mentor. After explaining that I am a beginning gymnast the coach made absolutely no modifications to the class. Especially after explaining my discomfort with certain exercises. The coach demonstrated a lack of attention and enthusiasm to teach. He spent the majority of the time looking in another direction and on his phone. The only reason I stayed through the hour class was because I lost $50. Wonderful workout, great atmosphere, terrible coach. Again, perhaps this establishment should maintain a focus on teaching children. What a waste. Best of luck. read more

As a customer I came in with this place and the people I met here changing my life and introducing me into a hobby that turned into a way of life. As a parkour coach I have seen my students mature and grow into loving the sports even more. I couldn't say any of this was true if the equipment wasn't as secure and structurally sound as it is. I couldn't say any of this if I felt uncomfortable going there because of the employees. And I couldn't say any of this if Nova Gymnastics didn't feel like a another home to me. I love this environment and the employees because every time I drive over I get excited to be welcomed by the people there. Sure sometimes the employees may not seem like they're in the best of moods but they are always there to help the customers and ensure the safety of the equipment and the people. Five stars all around! Everyone should come by at any point but I recommend the open gyms and the parkour classes. :) read more
