It was not the value, though with the daily special of one meat with a salad bar and the kids eat free add-on deal, the value was outstanding at a little more than $20 for three of us (all in). It was not the facility, though that was quite comfortable and clean. It was not the location, though that was easy to find and very navigable with easy parking. The thing that stood out were the people. Specifically, the person who took my order was probably the nicest person I've ever met as a worker in a restaurant that I've visited. Our grandson had fallen asleep in the car and my wife stayed put with him to let him sleep. She was not particularly hungry anyway and just asked me to bring her something small. The special with salad bar, brisket and drink did the job nicely as I could eat the salad and save the brisket for my wife (perhaps sneaking one strip of it for myself). But the person waiting on us offered to let me have the kids meal free even though my grandson was not inside with me. It turned out he woke up and they came in a few minutes later and she offered my wife and our grandson both free drinks while they were there. She offered my wife a trip to the salad bar on the house as well for being a good sport to stay with our grandson while he slept. When I thanked her for all of this, she mentioned that she tried to be kind to everyone. She said that it cost her nothing to do so. I told her that was true but at the same time, it was priceless. Her general demeanor with a constant smile on her face is what I will remember about this place. She clearly belongs in a people-facing job. People still make the ultimate difference and AI can never replace that no matter how sophisticated it gets.

I don't know where to start. The times I went there was usually a wait, but for good food I will wait all day. You can wait in your car u til your order is ready if needed. They're fairly new so they working out the timing on getting orders ready in a timely manner. The Brisket is definitely some of the best brisket in the area..so much flavor and moisture. This would probably be my most fav item on the menu. The Smoked Oxtail is literally right on the heals of the brisket..coming in as my 2nd most fav item on the menu. I never had smoked oxtail before but this was amazing. The oxtail had a smoked tender flavor and it also came with some gravy over white rice. You will have to visit often because he switches up the menu and usually doesn't have the oxtails on the same days as he has the brisket..it's a place I encourage all to try out if you're in the Cocoa area. The smothered porkchops, a bit too smothered for our liking in a salty gravy. Trying to eat the porkchop itself was a challenge not worth much because you may be getting fatty piece. My wife, being the kind person she is, decided to try dessert. She has been looking for real banana pudding, what they had left was red velvet cake.
