I'm not kidding - I swear I've had the same old Korean lady cutting my hair at every single barber shop, at every base, around the world, for my entire 21 year career. But, no complaints. It's a barber shop on a Army Post that cuts mostly Army hair and they can give ya an Army standard for haircut. If you're looking for some fashionable faddish style, this might not be the place for you. You can always ask, but it'll be hit or miss if the ladies can do it. Honestly, it's about $1-$2 more than other places like great clips, however, it's the same price at all these shops world wide. So at least there's consistency. I do like that their clippers all have that vacuum attachment on them, which helps suck in and capture the little hairs as they buzz your head. Helps keep hair off the uniform and from being itchy when you go back to work. There's about 4 of these on Ft Bliss here. So there's never a shortage of places to get a haircut on base. No excuses lol

It's disheartening that stylists can no longer exercise their own judgment, and with the prevalence of large chains, we miss out on personalized pricing. That's why Cuts N More stood out to me. Out of sheer desperation, I called them last minute at 5:30 pm. I really didn't want to risk hacking at my daughter's hair again after the last time. Plus, I didn't feel like a small kid's bangs trim was worth $15. To my surprise, when I called Cuts N More, the lady on the phone said it would only cost $5. So, we headed there. It took me a little while to find the place since it was tucked away on the side of a building. But when we arrived, there was an older lady getting her hair dyed, and we were introduced to Ramon, one of the sweetest hairstylists I've ever met. He noticed how nervous my daughter was and spoke to her calmly and quietly, offering her some candy and making her comfortable with a booster seat. Ramon began brushing out her hair to prepare for the bang cut. He immediately noticed that her hair was super fine and asked if I used conditioner. I confirmed that I did, and he advised me to stop using it because the wax in the conditioner was weighing down her hair and making it look dirty. He suggested using oil instead, applying it two to three times a week to keep her hair conditioned without weighing it down. He used a small bottle of argan oil and recommended purchasing it from Sally's Beauty Supply. He didn't try to sell me any products; he was simply offering helpful advice. Ramon took his time cutting her bangs, asking for input on the desired length and explaining that her hair would appear slightly shorter once it dried. He was attentive and considerate throughout the process. I paid him in cash and left a generous tip because I truly appreciated the personalized service and his kindness towards us. My wife was devastated because this salon improperly bleached her hair then dyed to cover up the…read moremistake. She only went to have the roots touched up and the woman left it in her hair for 30 minutes. This fried her roots and improperly stripped the color from the hair. There was also patches of the original color left in the layers of her hair. After this, we had to cancel family Christmas photos that evening and I had to watch her cry over and over about this salon messing up her hair. I told her to speak to the manager and she called them the very next morning. The woman on the phone agreed that the bleach on the roots was in too long and offered a refund on services rendered. My wife showed up to this salon and spoke to the same woman on the phone which was the manager. The manager agreed that the roots were fried and called the salon artist to look at the mistakes. This salon artist went into an instant Latin b**ch mode and started calling my wife a lier. While this is happening, 2 other clients mistakes were being resolved at the exact time she is defending the quality of work. The manager allowed the salon artist to offer a $45 refund on the services and my wife refuses and requested the full $90. Then my wife told her that if she did not refund the full amount than that is fine because she would file a claim with the small claims court. The manager stepped back in the conversation stating that this salon artist has been to court before and the court ruled that she does good work. This statement alone is absolutely comical. Then the manager told my wife that if she did not leave the premise then she would call the police. My wife refused to leave because she wanted the full amount refunded so the manager called the police. The police showed up and spoke with the manager and salon artist for a minute or so. During this time, the salon artist screamed and yelled at this police officer trying to justify her case. The police officer told her that he did not understand why they were called because this was a civil matter and there has not been any violence committed by the client. This is a perfect example of how people misunderstand protective civil services and laws. A fair warning to anyone that goes to this location, your initial experience might be fantastic as my wife's experience was but if they knowingly messed up services rendered, you are a criminal for requesting rightful justification after the manager honored the justification on the phone.
