Randy is a top-notch propane guy, he knows more about propane than anybody else that I know and I trust him implicitly. I've known him for more than 20 years and I've called him for all of my propane needs, never had an issue, never had a problem, and always felt like he was my neighbor looking out for me. Randy had his own propane company for about 20 years and he really does know all of the ins and outs of the business. True, Randy is my friend, but even if I didn't consider him a friend I would recommend him highly for propane business... he's the best.

They said they could do that and would come by to look over the fireplace and talk about options. The guy arrived about on time, but looked like he slept in the truck. His clothes were a shambles and were covered with dog hair. That on its own was not the main issue. He came in took measurements of the fireplace, looked up the chimney, went outside to look down the chimney with two different drones. Neither one worked. So, then he told us we needed to have the flue treated with a sealant. Did we want him to do that now? And it would cost aboutt 300 bucks. We said forget it. Then. We asjpked about which fireplace insets would work, and he said he would have to talk to his boss And he would call us back. He then presented us with a bill for $195 for the "inspection". He was there a total of 20 minutes, never did see down the flue and had no knowledge about fireplace inserts... Never got a call back. Do NOT hire this company! UPDATE Our previous review was Replied to by the company and listed as fake. Not true. For some reason the review was listed in VA. the real place was Bath NC. and the date was March 7th. And you are correct about the amount. it was higher - the amount charged to our credit card was $256.47. You should have our phone number in your records. So call if you still want to dispute this review.

BEWARE: We hired Johnston's for a chimney inspection and cleaning, we were told by our technician…read morethat we had glazed (Stage 3) creosote buildup -- but were advised to simply keep using the fireplace and burn hot fires to reduce it. After research and hiring a CSIA certified company, we learned this advice is directly contrary to established safety guidance. Stage 3 creosote is highly flammable and requires chemical treatment or professional removal before a fireplace can be safely used again. The Chimney Safety Institute of America is explicit on this point. Following Johnston's guidance in our report could have caused a chimney fire. We requested a refund given that the inspection included advice that put our home and family at risk, they refuse to acknowledge their fault. We did not feel we received an accurate or professional service. We will be sure to look for that CSIA certification going forward, there are plenty of family owned-- in business for decades, chimney companies in our area that can be relied on to give safe and accurate advice.

Anyways, we bought this house and had it inspected and everything else we were supposed to do, which wasn't cheap FYI. The Inspector-guy checked out the fireplace even (which is gas). We go through the whole moving process which we all know can be a nightmare. I go to do a once over the house while my partner took a shower. I came to the fireplace and I flicked the switch, and... Nothing! I couldn't believe it so i flicked it back off, and then on again. This time i heard it sparking, but still nothing lit. To make a long story short, we were talking to the neighbor and they told us to call CoVa Gas Fireplace Repair. Well at first that sounded a lot like a certain virus we all know but she repeated CoVa Gas Fireplace and I just shrugged (we are from Texas where there is no Gas Fireplaces. I am used to the run-around service companies can give you but i must say that from the beginning, CoVa Gas Fireplace Repair was probably the best service company experience I have EVER had! The were so courteous, polite, and professional. They laid out how their service works, exactly how much it is, and didnt hide their price or alienate me in any way.
