Good food but wish they would have told me how to store the cakes after spending $75 dollars on cake.

Alana made a great semi custom cake for my moms birthday. We will definitely be a repeat customer…read more This is probably the best place to get a cake on Columbia MO. 1. Delivery on time within specified delivery window 2. Cake was not overly sweet which we appreciated very much 3. Request to add fresh strawberries between the cake layers was fulfilled as requested. 4. Cake was very well constructed. We were concerned it would collapse as soon as it was cut into it but it did not 5. Interaction with Alana was very professional 6. We got the 6 inch semi custom strawberry crunch cake but it was larger than we expected. Feeds 14 ppl! 7. Some suggestions on this particular cake which may be more related to our preference... - cake was strawberry but it did not taste like a strawberry cake as much as we expected - it's called a crunch cake but the crunch frosting wasn't crunchy at all. I was expecting more of a crunch consistency. - the frosting was a bit thick and dense. Less like a cake frosting but not as thick as a fondant but I think it might have been necessary given how tall the cake was.

I specifically ordered a white cake and 2 dozen chocolate cupcakes. The decorations i ask for…read morewhere minimal at my granddaughter's request and they we're done perfect and the icing was delicious but when we cut into the cake, it was yellow nothing white about it, and it was very dry extremely dry nothing moist about it the chocolate cupcakes, which I know chocolate is hard to keep moist, but so very very dry. As a Baker myself I always try to keep something with my cakes before I ice them ,like bread, you have to keep your cakes moist before you ice them. I think these cakes were done several, several days prior for me picking them up. I told her I was disappointed. Her response was nonchalant I guess all I can say is I won't be using her again and I won't be referring her again because she definitely didn't say hey I'll give you your percentage off your next order or let's do this right again next time nope!!!!!

This was a great find on our trip through the area. The service was excellent and the food matched…read more We were greeted by Martin who offered great recommendations since it was our first visit. We ended up ordering the create your own Cajun Combo with a medium spice level that included 1 lb shrimp, 1 lb crawfish, two pieces of corn and a sausage; the fried catfish basket with hush puppies and an egg; and 6 hot wings with sauce on the side. Tarter and cocktail sauce and garlic butter came on the side. Everything was served piping hot and delicious. The boiled seafood was tender, flavorful and well seasoned without overpowering the delicate texture of the seafood. The catfish was lightly battered and had a clean flavor. The sausage had a gentle kick and was well seasoned with savory spices. We took the advice of Martin and dipped the sausage in the garlic butter - wow, a great recommendation! The hot wings were delicious. Had I known they were that good, i would have requested them as typically served tossed in the sauce. The hush puppies we not typical in that they too had a a great mix of spices and maybe herbs; crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The corn seemed to soak up the boiling spices as well and was tender and flavorful to the last bite. In addition to providing utensils, wet wipes, bibs and even gloves, they had a nice hand washing station near the entrance with great smelling soda and towels. It was a great space to wash up before and after eating. I would definitely return tho the Cajun Crab House if I was in the area - and I'd hope to find Martin and Maria working that day too.

We normally go to Krustaceans on 9th St.....but decided to try this place. Though I'll speak well…read moreof this place, the cost/value of this place - will (still) have me endorsing Krustaceans in Columbia. The seafood at this place, was cooked very very good. The quality of the seafood was a very clean tasting seafood. Even the shrimp had a nice clean flavor. And we're you looking for butter? Oh, they do (not) spare the sticks of butter at this place! The potato. Oh yes, I said "potato". I have never had a seafood bowl - have (just) a single potato. The potato tasted absolutely great. But 1 potato? That was a joke - especially after you see what these items cost! The garlic butter: There was plenty of butter. Tye flavoring of the butter, certainly was unique of sorts. Seemed to have (possibly) a chili powder base. And though I thought it was good...I also got tired of the taste, after a bit. The Big Downer at this place: Cost. You see my (2) platters. Add (3) cans of Coke - the cost was $150.00. Yes, that's correct: $150.00. Sure, there's a whole lobster on one of the platters. BUT, it wasn't that big by any means. And let's remember: 1 potato was included in the platter. 1 small red potato, came with it; at that price! Lol. Conclusion: Krustaceans is where you should go - for the seafood boiler platters. A much better combination of quality, value and price.
