Parking is right outside the store. Inside is well spaced, although it is small. Wildfire Grace calls themselves a boutique gift store. A variety of items can be found here from jewelry, candles, scarfs and mittens, baby items, mittens, household decor, and refurbished furniture. I found exactly what I was looking for Christmas gifts and even something for myself. The store is opened Wednesday through Sundays. If you are looking for something unique, be sure to make a trip to Mattawan.

This review is a little late but I ordered balloons from KD Sales in October for my grandsons…read morebirthday, since I live in Chicago I needed to do everything over the phone. They were not friendly, I spoke to two different people, once when placing my order and then again when confirming my order the day before the party. When placing the order the gentleman who I spoke to sounded annoyed, as if I was bothering him. I was asking for specific colors but seeing that they are a balloon supplier I didn't feel these were outrageous requests. . The color theme was blue, dark blue, light blue, white and sea foam. Basic simple colors 2 dozen 6 of each. When I arrived to my daughters the balloons were delivered and instead of dark blue they brought black. Seeing that I confirmed this order the day before I was annoyed that they got it wrong. In addition the women I spoke to when confirming was sharp and snippy I was barely able to get a thank you out before she hung up the phone. Now, keeping perspective, this was a child's birthday and nothing was ruined due to this error, I thought about calling but with my previous phone experiences I didn't feel they would be very responsive and why add to my irritation. I won't order from them again as there is a certain level of customer service you should be able to expect and unfortunately in my case KD sales made no attempt to convey even the basic customer service courtesies.

This is a great little specialty shop in Kalamazoo. I go here for costume and novelty item needs…read more They have a large selection of costumes and accessories. The tops of the shelves in the main showroom are topped with stacks of any kind of hat you can imagine. The back room has shelves and shelves of labeled cardboard boxes containing wigs, boas, gloves, costume jewelry and other props. There are many gag gifts here. You can find lots of little toys (bounce balls, plastic animals, cars, airplanes, etc.), perfect for filling gift bags for children's birthday parties. Stickers, makeup, party decorations...you name it, they probably have it. Be warned that the store is a little dingy and is not in the best neighborhood. That said, I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. Appearances can be deceiving.

I'm burning said candle now, the Sea Salt scent, and ahhhh.... even though it's a grey day, it's bringing me right back to the beach, with its clean & fresh scent. Then, my sister sent me a few of their holiday-scented candles for Christmas and I absolutely love them, too! I put a couple away for the next holiday season, but am still using the cedar/pine one, as I just love the smell anytime of the year. Thanks, KCC, for making my home smell delightful!

One of my must-stop spots when touring the Park Trades Center at the monthly Art Hops, Kalamazoo…read moreBook Arts Center hosts some really interesting events periodically ranging from accordion book festivals (all entries are constructed like an accordion in lieu of a traditional book binding) and the yearly Edible Book Contest at April's Art Hop. This is such a fun event and a great opportunity for both kids and adults to think creatively and construct art pieces designed to be eaten. I love it when art makes me belly laugh and the punny entries will make you laugh out loud. Still better when art can make your belly full -- like when guests get to consume the edible books after the judging. Upstairs is a shop with home-made papers, books and specialty items and the huge downstairs has machines for typefacing and other book-making work plus a gallery space. You'll spot something different every time.
