Nostalgic Soul is definitely worth every star in their rating. The shop is easy to find, has an atmosphere charged with good energy and top notch barbers. The online scheduling system was simple to navigate and the shop has plenty of parking available. What more could one ask for? Yelp did their big one on this recommendation. I am extremely pleased with my haircut. read more

This is only my second visit to Nostalgic Soul and thus far I'm very happy to have stumbled upon them. The shop is spacious with ample seating, and album covers and old school art work adorn the walls. The music playing in the background gives this shop a nice vibe and I love it that you can book appointments online. I showed Deuce a picture of the cut I wanted and he did not disappoint. I think I have found my new barber. read more

My son was in need of a haircut. Found Nostalgic Soul and set up the appointment. He came out a new kid. I was impressed with cut and the smile on my son's face. Convenient appointment and payment method. We will be back. read more

I've been coming to this shop for about 2-3 years now, and I absolutely love the service. My barber, Duece, gets me right every time, and I always enjoy our conversations. The space is welcoming and comfortable, and they're always playing my favorite '90s-2000s shows, which makes the experience even better. read more

Thank you so much for my sons haircut. We love it. I didn't know what to ask for because my husband usually does the boys haircuts but the barber was patient with me and my son! read more

I've been to this shop a few times now. Always get a great haircut by Mike. He lined up my "hard part" perfectly! The line is precise and his fading skills are expert level. Plus, it's a clean shop and since you can make appointments, it's not crowded. Mike is a true professional who takes pride in his work. It's not the least expensive shop ($35 haircut + $5 tip) but for the service you get, plus free/easy parking, I'd ser say it's worth it. He always has funny movies on too! read more

Awesome service. I got the attention I needed. With in 45 minutes my hair was completely finished. Yes, I will go back.

Just had the worst experience in customer service at a barber shop in 60 years. Had an appointment scheduled. Arrived on time. Made to wait 45 minutes because barber took someone right before my appointment. Felt highly disrespected. Then when I said something I was told I can leave, and was told to leave, put out of the shop. Still need a haircut. No regard for the customer needs in this situation. Obviously doesn't matter to the Barber, I won't be coming back ever. He just lost $1,000 this year. read more

Nostalgic Soul is the only place I will Pay to get my hair cut. It costs $17 dollars for a simple cut (fade, taper). I have driven home from college, which is an hour away to have Michelle cut my hair. Two BIG flat screens for when you wait and comfortable seating. Walk-ins welcome Bottom Line= if you need a great cut come here you wont be dissapointed. read more

I'll be coming here for eight years, I've never had a problem with the guy (mike). I enjoy come here because he has a sense quiet but is work has been taking longer lately. He lets his appointments come late and take them and that puts back everyone who made appointment showed up on time. You moved to an appointment system because you wanted it now you cannot hold it. What kind of bullshit is that? Your service sucks dude you've been doing it for too long and you stay there but no one is too old for refresher. After 10 years, your skills are updated. Go learn something else new, If you don't even considering then I guess you're that ignorant. And as I'm getting my haircut, he states that I should go see another barber in front of a customer. What kind of reputation gonna have any people away in front of other people that are gonna make them wonder what caused that. I still have to tip regardless of that because it's out of moral, I always tip my barber well former barber now. His attitude has changed in the early years, I can't wait for the day that a new barber shop opens up and runs just went out of business. It's not trash talking but it's just economically speaking. It's gonna happen at some point. How are you gonna save your business from then? read more

Been going to Nostalgic Soul on and off for years and Deuce's/Michael's cuts are always top notch, some might not like the price but you pay for what you get. Some of the reviews complain about drop-ins only but as of now it's all through appointments. You will not be disappointed if you get a cut here. read more

Good place to get a cut especially for a nice slick back cut I highly recommend it and it has such a nice and mellow vibe

After experiencing borderline sexual harrassing customer service at other local baraber shops, (where the barbers are more interested in asking for my number than cutting my sons hair) I was relieved when I found this place. It looks nice, PG13 conversations, the price was reasonable ($15) and Mike's always did a great job. Slowly but surely, after sitting there for an hour to an hour and a half a few times I started to realize how inefficent they are. Here's how this place works: the woman in the back (who I can only assume is the manager) only cuts hair by appointment while Mike handles all of the walk-in customers. Which is fine, it's her shop and she can elect to do so. BUT it became extremely apparent that all of her customers are "friends & family", AND she when asked...she refuses to take new customers. Who refuses customers? Also, she will happliy sit down and wait for 30 mins until her next "customer" shows while Mike has a line of people waiting... You tell me if that makes any Business Sense. Well, 6 months go by and I've pretty much mastered getting there close to when they open (which is whenver they feel like) to avoid the long wait. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, their prices go up...again. A taper is now $20! Two price increses within the same year? But wait for it, we went in again about a month ago and the price is now $25 for a taper...lol That doesn't make sense! 3 price increase in a year and a half...Not to mention their prices are no where to be seen in that shop. Guess that gives them the flexibilty to charge whatever they want to WHOEVER they want. So, I came to the conclusion that there are 3 factors that could be causing their rapid price increases. 1. Mismanagement of money. Which would be very stereotypical of an African American busniess. (I can say that, I'm African American) 2. The managers "clients" aren't paying full price..i wouldn't be suprised and 3. Their rent is constantly going up because the owners want them out. You choose.... read more

Carlos cut my 2 year olds hair today. I mean he cut his sweet curls off. It was devastating, but I asked for it. And when it was over, he looked FRESH!! #swag I was fighting the little girls off of him when we left the shop. read more

I made a Yelp account just to make this review. Let me start off by saying the Haircuts are mediocre, and they anted up the price to 32$ for adults. Folks take your money elsewhere because they are not this good to be charging 32. I'd also like to add their customer service is complete garbage. The wait is at least 1 hour, and they are rude. Mike the only walk in barber is absolute trash. I'd rather cut my own hair than to be cut by him again, his sheer work is mediocre, and I asked for a taper, and this man gives me a high fade. Hes a complete idiot. GUYS PLEASE TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED CASH ELSE WHERE DO NOT COME HERE! read more

I called this place and asked if they were busy. The man who answered said "no not at all." I got there a few minutes later, and the only barber there told me going to be a while, so sign in and leave my phone number as there was a long wait. I was lied to on the phone and called asking to avoid this. Wasted trip. I didn't get a haircut here and I already don't recommend it. read more

I want to give this establishment so many kudos but I just can't. For starters they give great hair cuts but the customer service is GARBAGE. It's a cute little shop with so much potential. But enough is enough. A few yelpers mentioned that it may be race related and I assure you they are equally rude to myself and my family who are people of color. I got my sons hair cut here one time it was the first and last. My sons father had been going here on and off give or take a year. Every time I go in with him and my son, none of us are greeted. Its almost as though we are posing an inconvenience. Against my better judgement I allowed my son to get a hair cut here after much coaxing from his father. It will never happen again. My son has had haircuts before this experience and after and never has it been so traumatic. "Mike" seemed to be in a bad mood the entire time. He had zero patience and was extremely rude to both me and my child. I even asked about the price of the shirts they clearly had for sale because I wanted to buy one and all he could say was "I don't know". Okay. Every time we've gone, there is at least a 2 hour (uncomfortable) wait. Today my sons father tried once again (on his own this time,I refuse to patronize this business at least until there is a major customer service adjustment), but I digress. He was asked to leave a phone number and told he would be called in a couple of hours when space was available. Needless to say, the call never came. It's only a matter of time they can keep treating people this way and prosper. I wish the best for them but we can take our money elsewhere as we did today. read more

This place has the shittiest customer service. I brought my son here to get a haircut. I wrote my son's name on a notepad and he was the 2nd one on the list. This barber took other customers who came in after us and had us waiting...I kid you not!!! 2 fucking hours. Don't waste your time and money in this establishment. The quality cut that I saw from the customers who came in after us made us walk out. I felt bad for the guy getting lined up in the chair noticing what a shitty job the barber was giving him in which case that was our cue to leave. Completely not worth it. Don't waste your time and hard earned money here. read more

My partner gets her haircut here and they always do a clean job! She's been searching for YEARS for a barber who will cut her hair the way she wants it: short, tight, and well, like a dapper gentleman. I've been taking my son here for about a year... Deuce does a great job. Its hard cutting kids hair and he is awesome. He is very patient with kids. The shop is also comfortable. There are 2 tv's and a good Wi-Fi signal. ***Ladies who have to take their sons: this is not the normal barbershop! It is very female friendly because it is owned by a female! Michael did literally 5 stars out of 5 stars. Service such as wait time can be a factor, but on cut, hair cut was literally the best. If your looking for accolades such as best neck rest or best scented towels or softest towels, your taste would need to season this place, but if your looking for the best cut, just say number 8. I came here to get the early bird weekday special and the dude charge me full price. The haircut wasn't even that great. I was a little disappointed and understood why no one was there. When I was done with my haircut, I wanted some change back and the barber pretend like he didn't have enough cash to give back to me. I told the barber to keep the change and I never came back. read more

I was extremely disappointed with my haircut and the prices. I had to wait a total of 2 hours to get a haircut which would have been okay if they had opened on time. I was also charged 35 dollars for shaving the nape of my neck. They explained that hair cuts for women were more expensive (sexist) and my hair looks extremely patchy with the $10, originally told $5, designs. read more

The cut was coo. I was happy with it for the most part 8/10, over priced by other shop standards but the wait time and the time the only barber in there spends on each cut is ridiculous. I'm not saying that in a way where the first response would be, "if you want to nice cut it takes a while" I'm saying he takes forever. Besides that and the fact that they almost want you to be silent in there, no loud talk really and if you want to hear your phone then put your earbuds in, even with the lowest sound volume. If you have the time and a headache, it's a good shop. read more

5 stars isn't enough to give. Arielle was my barber for over a year, and she was the best barber by far. Michelle cut my hair twice and she was also great. Very precise, polite, and professional. went to get a cut yesterday because they had a flyer that said FREE razor line ups on Tuesday's. they charge $17 for an adults haircut, $5 extra for that razor line up. anyway since i have a fauxhawk, they charged me $22 T0TAL just because they said its considered a "design". i personally don't mind paying it, just as long as they do a good job which he didn't! dude didn't know how to fade AT ALL! so i asked him to fade it better cause there's still hair sticking out & this dude busted out the scissors to try & fix it. the owner even tried to explain it to him but dude still couldn't get it right. then she tried telling me that's how its suppose to be. so i left with scars on my sideburns, paid the owner & dipped. NEVER AGAiN! should've known by the 0 amount of clients was in there when i arrived. (clearly not satisfied) save your $ folks! read more
