Yen is wonderful and got me in right away for my first visit. She asked that the next time I come to make an appointment beforehand, which I will. She knows my hair type and did a great job. She also cleaned up my eyebrows, ears and neck area. My wife liked the job she did. If you go be sure to bring cash. read more

These days, I like to stay local! I've seen this small hair salon driving by and I needed a haircut so I called them up for a same day appt. I have a thick hair and just wanted a simple bob. Yan cut my hair within minutes. I loved the result! She chopped off probably 50% of my hair, I feel.so much lighter and my hair is so.much neater! It's not a fru fru place, but she got the work done well and quick! $30 for my cut and I would certainly be back! read more

Yen always cuts my hair with care and it's perfect each time. She is very nice and has a good sense of humor. Price is good.

I went for the first time to her shop and got my hair cut. I really liked her and her cut. I will definitely go back.

Thank you Yen! I took my son with a very sensitive head for a last minute haircut. Usually his dad cuts his hot but wasn't able to in time for Xmas. Yen was friendly, patient and listened to exactly what we needed making suggestions as she did her work. Piece of advice, call and make an appointment. There were people coming in and out and the phone was ringing. She definitely keeps busy! read more

I called ahead to see if Ms. Yen can take a walk in and was able to squeeze me in before her next appointment. She was quick and clean. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Been seeing Yen for about a year or so, she does a great job at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

I don't like leaving good reviews for barbers and mechanics...because I don't want them get so popular that Im not able to get in easily :) . But, I feel like I should leave a review for Yen. She's pretty awesome at what she does. Great hear cut every time, inexpensive, fast and a great personality. I have gotten haircuts at various spots in the bay area over 12 years (some costing as much as $60), but I have to say- Yen is easily one of the best in the business. read more

Do not appreciate paying & tipping a person who I let my disabled partner go to & she has for the 3rd time now sliced up the back of his neck something fierce. I don't like that he tells her to cut at an angle in the front & she cuts his hair straight across, so it does not grow out in the way he desires. He goes home & washes it & it looks squared out. Exact opposite of what he states. She always says she understands what he is saying & cuts him off as well. NOT COOL. Third time is the charm & we will not be back. Yen can cut. Cut the back of your neck. Cut your hair incorrectly, Cut your time in the chair down by a third by cutting you off & not building a relationship. She cannot do a fade either... I guess which is why the back of his neck is throbbing hours after her cut. After he washed it we had to cut it ourselves. Waste of money if I had to do anyway! read more

I get my haircut every month at Yens, I also make sure that I will have my fresh haircut before I go on vacation in the Philippines, I don't trust anyone doing my haircut although it us much cheaper in the Philippines, she is very professional and does fantastic job read more

I doubt that I'll be changing hairdressers to come to Yen's. However, that doesn't mean that it that she does not have a four-star or maybe even a five-star shop. I wanted my hair shampooed, I wasn't able to do it myself because I have a cast on my hand and I didn't want to ask S. The shampoo was great. Yen covered my hair with suds and massaged my scalp for quite awhile. I felt very relaxed after the shampoo. Rather than let her just blow dry my hair, I had her style my hair. I told her to style it any way she wanted She doesn't use a flat iron. Reading the Yelp reviews it looks like she cuts a lot of men's hair, perhaps they don't want their their hair flat ironed. I do like the look on mine. read more

Came from the yelp reviews and was not disappointed! Yen gave me a very good haircut! She was polite, listened and understood what I wanted. She also did my daughters hair and did a great job understanding what she was conveying. Shop was very clean. I'll be back! read more

I have been going here for years, and I've been very satisfied with every haircut I have ever gotten here. Yen has a lot of regular customers, so it can be a hit or miss of how busy it can be. Even if there is a line of people waiting, it is very much worth the wait as you will consistently get exactly what you want. Just remember it's cash only, and that her shop is closed on Sundays and Thursdays. read more

Ms. Yen is just as great as her past reviews indicated. I too wish I had known about her shop long ago. But I am very happy to have found her and confirm her hair cutting skills, long term experience and great customer service. She was able to fit me in without an appointment and she gave me a haircut just as I wanted it. I am very happy to have a hair care professional that I can regularly count on, back in my life. I'm also glad to be supporting a small women owned business in my community. Thank you Ms. Yen. Irma VM read more

Quick affordable and professional. Yen will make your haircut dreams come true. Make sure to call ahead and make a reservation.

My husband recommended this shop from Yelp's review so I gave Yen a try. Saturday afteenoon, I thought there would be a long waiting because I did not make an appointment and I heard this shop had only one person working. Actually there were only two young men and I was the third customer the moment when I walked in. I did not have to wait too long, 15 minutes I thought. Yen took a loo of the photos of hair styles I showed her, and she gave me a few suggestions would work best for my hair type. No fuss, not too much chit-chat (I don't like my hair stylist talk too much, please focus on my hair), no hard selling any hair care products. She just focused on my hair. Little chatting with Yen, and I knew she used to have someone who worked with her but things did not work out and she loss some customers because of that person, she had to start over and now she is less stress working alone. Yen did great job cutting my hair, much better than some chain stores and others I had before. Support local business. read more

It's so refreshing to go to a hairdresser and they understand exactly what it is that I want in the haircut. To take it to the next level, the hairdresser can execute the cut that was requested in record time, not because she was rushing but because she got skills. In short Yen CAN cut!!! The bonus is that she is super personable and has a great sense of humor. Hubby just found a new barber! read more

A friend of mine referred me to Yen after my hair was badly botched at different salon. That was over a year ago and I haven't gone to anyone other than Yen since. She does a wonderful job, gives her honest opinion and ensures your hair is the way you want it before you leave. She's very polite and the prices are extremely reasonable. Just make sure you bring cash. read more

The father-in-law is still getting his haircut, but since it's not my hair I think it is safe to start the 5 star review. Wonderful little old school shop, very friendly service, skill and tact in abundance. I highly recommend this shop. read more

I've been getting my hair cut and dyed by Yen, for many years now. (My daughters too, for that matter.) I find being in her care is like being in an oasis from a sand storm. The shop is simple, with no frills, and still very welcoming. Her shampooing is a therapy session. Oh, yeah, and um, she DOESN'T have "bad" days, that effect her cutting. read more

I have gone to Yen for my last two haircuts. She gives me the exact style that I ask for. She is very friendly, professional and delivers a great haircut in very short time. I just had my hair cut by Yen for the first time. She was wonderful. She really wants you to be happy with your hair and is very open to hearing your feedback. She doesn't get snooty or bent out of shape if you direct her to cut more hear or there. I'll definitely be going back and next time I'm getting color. read more

SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES! And support Yen because she's personable, cute, and precise. I have heavy, thick, black, filipino hair and Yen always does my hair right with layers & thinning it without making it look frizzy. Yen is awesome! Its a not very well known small shop, so its always easy to get an appointment or just walk in. Yen is very sweet, gives quality cuts, and actually listens to what you want. Her prices are unbeatable at around $14/cut. The only downside is she only takes cash but there's an ATM at the gas station across the street! My husband and I will be coming here as long as we can! read more
