No dogs allowed here even though the owners keep their dog there. The lady turned away a girl with a small dog who wanted to browse and said it was too hot to leave dog outside. The owner actually says she hates when kids come in. Been shopping here since 2005 and there is nothing more here. Come well before closing as owners pack up mall and usually close early.

Here are a few key points... 1. Some of the dealers are actually in their booths on weekends, which makes it nice when you have questions or are wanting to make an offer. 2. The business does not face the street, but faces a small private lot on Bank St. I did not see it at first, but it was there. 3. There are more small items here. You will find furniture, but definitely more in the way of books, art, jewelry, etc. I noticed an over abundance of dishes and crystal decanters. 4. They have a staffed information booth at the front which doubles as both shoplifting patrol and actual information source. 5. You can probably breeze through here in 30 minutes. It is not huge, but big enough to make it worth a stop.

The shop includes a large basement, filled will carpets, bed frames, furniture and is somewhat of a maze, as the basement is made of up multiple rooms. The main floor is filled primarily with furniture and framed pictures, although not all items would fall into the category of being a true antique. Most items are affordable, as this is not an upmarket shop, but one that caters to the casual antique store browser. Given the lack of antique shops in Ottawa, A Fine Things Antiques is a welcome addition to the local antiques retail scene.

They find well-designed/beautiful items in yard sales/thrift stores and then sell it/celebrate it in their store. Their store is an eyefull - it is stocked with great looking furniture, lamps, pottery goods and other home decor items. Found Design sure saves you the trouble of scouring yard sales and antique shops for that just-right item. The only trouble is, you are not going to pay the yard sale price you could be paying. That $10 coffee table (that turns out to have been made by some famous Danish craftsperson) will cost you $700. But really, what are the odds of finding it at a yard sale?
