Bad round of golf. Understandably course can't control who plays. They can enforce pace of play. They could ask groups of multiple 4-somes to save the celebration for the bar. Dan the manager on Sat was clearly not a golf guy and is unable to manage the course. Guys sucks. They don't want to hear about it either. Play here if you want, terribly managed golf course. Conditions of the course are average, not a long course, greens are very small. Definitely need a good short game to score well. They've been running a very good deal for $40 during the week - golf, cart, and $10 gift card for the restaurant. read more

After a snow delay in early April, we finally had the TaylorMade fitting session with the track monitor. After a one hour fitting and hitting 50 plus balls, a complete set of M4s were ordered. Mike and Jeff kept me informed of the shipping time, built me a new putter, and I was ready. You cannot beat the staff and the great shape the course is in, kudos to the ground staff during this long winter, getting the course so nice. The Monday through Thursday special is the best deal in Eastern CT. Enjoy this course because my family and friends have a great time there. Course was in decent shape. Got a groupon deal on it. They allowed us to book a 4:30 tee time for 18. The only problem was, there was not a single ranger in site to keep the pace of play at a normal rate. It took a my friends and I, a foursome of average golfers, 2.5hours to complete 9 holes. At this point it was already 7PM and the cart had to be in by 8. There was a group of 4 in front of us, and another group of 4 in front of them who apparently went on a "beer run" and it slowed everything way down. I went to the Golf course in Norwich yesterday I didn't like there food the last time I went but I wanted to give them a try again before making judgement. I was very disgusted with the food well where do I start, First off I ordered a Pepsi and it was flat and it had something green in it floating around it was gross. Then I ordered the French Onion Soup that was okay then I ordered Mozzarella Stick with what was suppose to marinara sauce come to find out it was salsa not marinara the waitress then told me that's their sauce okay I let that go then she brings me my main course Teriyaki Chicken was so excited sounded so good then when I received it was burnt I know it was grilled but it was black and tasted like charcoal left the most discussing taste in my mouth so when I told the waitress she told me that there was nothing wrong with it wish I had taken a picture to show you. Then I tell her to take all the food cause at this point I was so anger and hungry I just wanted to get out of there. The waitress was rude and un sympathetic. I was really surprised for a classy place like the golf course you would expect better food. The scenery was beautiful that's about all I have to say good about this place. They need a better cook!!! Norwich is in great shape with just a few rough edges. I like the challenge of many of the holes. I play from the whites. I see too many people playing from the blues who have no business playing them. If you play Monday-Thursday you can pay $45 and get lunch with your round. Food at clubhouse is very good. Booking a tee time was easy and the course was in good condition. We enjoyed ourselves. Playing with four woman can sometimes be a couple steps slower than 4 men but we always keep an eye on our pace. Today was a hot day and we just wanted a cold drink on the patio (this was during covid phase 1 in CT). We were instructed by signage to call ahead for a table and wear a mask. We did that. When we entered the building to inquire about our next steps. The "manager" hostess waitress said it would be 5 mins wait outside. We did that. Within 5 mins a group of 4 men arrived. We politely explained what to do they called in and waited near us. Within 2 mins the manager hostess waitress came to the door called the men in. We spoke up and said we had called in prior to the men; the men agreed that was true. The manager hostess waitress could not care one bit she said "we will seat them next". We felt that we were discriminated against because we were women! After she sat them we went to ask for clarification and she had no response. Not even a sorry this must have been a mistake! She simply wanted to seat the men rather than us she had no explanation. Therefore I'm rated the cafe/patio service as one star and the course a 4 star. Too bad Norwich Golf course but woman can golf and sit on the patio too! Get a new manager hostess waitress before you go under!!! read more
