The entire Thompson family and their helpful staff are very amiable and down-to-earth. I believe the best way for me to describe the cuisine is "gourmet home-style food". Yet happily the prices are reasonable with the portions generous. The food is always fresh, and there are many creative dishes to choose from; vegetarian and GF options too. Our family/friends have eaten there (or gotten take out) many times over the years and have never been disappointed. They offer lunch and dinner, a Today's Specials menu and a bar menu. Great desserts! Take out is also available. In the warmer months they use their substantial garden grown behind the kitchen for many of the menus delicious vegetables, also buying locally when they can. The 11th Green Restaurant includes a large separate banquet room that capably accommodates parties, showers, fundraisers, tournaments etc. Seating throughout gives diners a relaxing view of the golf course. If you prefer to sit outside they recently added a beautifully landscaped outdoor patio next to a pond that includes a waterfall feature. They are open most of the year depending on the season. They tend to close in the dead of winter for a month or so; you might consider calling ahead to check (I have found they usually are open). The golf course is public and although I don't play golf a few people who do have told me its got about the most affordable prices in the area, even including a cart. The restaurant is about 25 or 30 minutes from Kent County (with ZERO stop lights all the way there once you're on Rt. 95)! From the south it's about 10 minutes from the CT border up 95 (about 15 or 20 minutes north of Westerly going the back way). Even in the summertime when the east side of South County is jammed everywhere with beach traffic this is a nice easy drive down Rt. 95 to Exit 2 then take a left and go straight about 2 1/2 miles and you'll find it set back on the left. Needless to say I personally highly recommend it. In fact I'm having a Pavlovian Response as I write this. :-)

We arrived and all tables were full except the one for us with big RESERVED sign Were waited on in reasonable time and food was not overly delayed, despite the several large parties. Kudos for taking good care of us while managing a very busy load. Fish and chips huge and the best (13.95). Most expensive (24.95) was lobster and shrimp over linguine. It was delish, well cooked and had at least 5 large shrimp, 6 nuggets of lobster. Other dishes $17 - 23 were all great. Service was sup[erb! Waitress Jill and others who helped were friendly, attentive and really sweet to the 9 and 5 y.o. girls. House wine was decent and a good pour for $6. Special martini, $9, was well made. A superb experience for our little birthday celebration.

Many of the members prefer walking but there are enough times when the course can be played quickly. While a fun course, it presents enough challenges to test your game. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent and the bar is a friendly spot for a drink. I always enjoy going to this location. They also have a nice bar and dining area inside. Outside is a shaded seating. After the golfing is finished there is a great buffet. I have liked their food each year. The staff is amazing. Joe is the best along with bartenders. They hire great people and is such a nice 9 hole golf course.
